About the host
Hosted by nathalie
I grew up in Kenya before finishing school and University in the UK. I worked on various conservation projects in Nepal, South Africa and across Africa before moving to Tanzania to set up the rewilding conservation and wildlife sanctuary that we now call home.
Why they chose this property
We chose the area we live in as it was an over farmed and over grazed patch of land that we wanted to rehabilitate back to Acacia Woodland using regenerative farming techniques. We now have a wonderful area, full of bird life and mammals as well as the giraffe who roam free across the sanctuary. This is a rare chance to find a piece of wilderness outside a national park where you can be woken up by birdsong and go to sleep with the light of the stars and the moon.
What makes this property unique
Our straw bale cottage sits in the middle of the Wildlife Sanctuary that is the Arusha Giraffe Centre. You are in your own private bit of ‘bush’. Walks to see our Conservation Education centre and a guided walk to see the giraffe are included in your stay.
Don’t fancy cooking? We are able to cater for you, allowing you to fully relax, listen to the birds and wind down.
We are on the road to Tarangire National Park as well as the Ngorogoro Crater and Serengeti, so the perfect place to stay on your way to, or back from the parks. We are able to help with transfers to and from the airport as well as trips into Arusha Town.
