The courtyard house

A fully equipped cottage within an authentic rural building, featuring a patio and a pool. The accommodation includes 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 living room, and 1 kitchen. The atmosphere is 100% Andalusian. The layout is ideal for accommodating 3 or 4 people.

This century-old rural farmhouse is strategically located for exploring Andalusia, just an hour’s drive from Granada, Málaga, and Córdoba.

The house is built on two levels. You enter through the living room and dining room. At the far end of the room is a fireplace. A door leads to the kitchen. A staircase leads up to the upper floor, where there are two bedrooms and the bathroom. The living room door opens directly onto the patio where the pool is located.

To preserve the rustic charm of the farmhouse, we’ve opted for understated decor. The walls are white and rough-textured. The wooden doors are heavy and dark brown. The beams are exposed. The furniture and decor are minimalist.

It features a fully equipped kitchen with induction cooktops, a small worktop, and a medium-sized refrigerator with a freezer. All the essential kitchen amenities are provided: microwave, dishes, silverware, wine glasses, pots, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, blender, basic seasonings, etc.

The master bedroom has a double bed. The other bedroom has two single beds. The storage furniture is simple and basic. There are original wooden shutters and mosquito screens in all rooms.

Outside, there are small, movable wooden tables, as well as chairs and lounge chairs with cushions.

A pergola made of palm fronds provides shade. There are also two simple, portable umbrellas available for a deposit. The patio is spacious and includes a barbecue. It consists of a section with old stones and a section with tiles (around the pool).

La Era is a place to unwind; there is no television. The cellular network (data) is generally reliable, ensuring satisfactory Internet access for most of our guests. However, if you need a high-speed connection—for professional or other reasons—we can recommend telecom stores in Loja, the nearest city, that will offer solutions tailored to your needs.

Sheets and towels are included. We change them once a week. There is no washing machine in your rural home, but a laundry service is available as an option (8 euros per load). A clothesline and clotheslines with clothes pegs are provided. Upon request, we can provide an ironing board and an iron.

On the first day of your stay, you must pay a security deposit of 300 euros in person. This will be refunded in full on the day of departure, provided no damage is found. In the event of damage to the building, furniture, or provided accessories, the security deposit will be used to cover repair costs in proportion to the estimated extent of the damage.

Regarding energy and heating, we encourage eco-friendly behaviour: the walls of the accommodation is thick and reasonably maintain coolness in the summer and warmth in the transitional seasons, so many guests choose not to use heating (except during the height of winter). We provide extra blankets if needed. However, we fully understand that some groups and families may prefer greater comfort. For this reason, we have provided several heating options.

Heating options available upon request:

- Electric radiator = 10 euros/day

- Wheelbarrow of olive wood for the fireplace = 10 euros

- Portable gas heater (with refillable gas cylinder, a very common system in Spain) = 20 euros per cylinder

- Set of various electric radiators = actual consumption billed based on the metre reading at a rate of 0.3 euros per kW.

P.S. These rates are subject to sudden and significant changes in energy prices.
