Discover the essence of the Basque Country by staying in an authentic 16th century farmhouse, carefully rehabilitated to preserve its history and original character.
Surrounded by mountains, forests and nature, the farmhouse is a perfect refuge for those looking for tranquillity and disconnection without giving up the proximity of San Sebastian and some of the best gastronomic and cultural destinations in the Basque Country.
The house combines traditional elements - stone, wood and typical Basque architecture - with all the necessary comforts to enjoy a comfortable stay. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room, indoor and outdoor dining room and fireplace, equipped kitchen and spaces from which to contemplate the magnificent views of the valley.
Outside you can enjoy the tranquillity of the environment, the fruit trees and the meadows where the latxas sheep graze, one of the most characteristic breeds of the Basque Country. From the surroundings depart routes and ideal paths to discover on foot the landscape of Tolosaldea and the nearby mountains, such as the Ernio massif.
A place designed to enjoy quiet mornings, breakfasts with views, long walks through nature and afternoons by the fireplace.
The farmhouse is located in Albiztur, near Tolosa and approximately 25 km from San Sebastian, which allows you to combine the tranquillity of the countryside with excursions to the coast, the culture and extraordinary gastronomy of the region.
Ideal for couples, families or friends who want to discover the Basque Country outside the beaten track from an authentic and traditional perspective.
It has good access by paved road and parking area. With south orientation and magnificent views. In a very calm and quiet rural environment.
The living space:
The farmhouse is distributed over two floors plus a mezzanine and a semi-basement.
On the ground floor there is the kitchen, the dining room, a covered terrace and the wood-burning fireplace with its living room area, there is also a bathroom with shower and a laundry room .
On the first floor is the living room and the two bedrooms with their bathrooms, in the mezzanine there is an ideal area for relaxation or yoga with magnificent views of the valley.
The farmhouse has been completely renovated respecting the original materials that existed in the house and the traditional Basque architecture.
The building is made of stone and native red oak wood.
The electricity, heating and hot water installations are totally new.
It also has a fireplace for wood fire.
Just as important as the interior is the exterior, where a considerable effort is made to take care of and maintain the ancestral rural environment.
The house is surrounded by native trees such as walnut trees, hazelnut trees, apple trees or pear trees, as well as wild forests.
Also of pastures for native Latxas sheep and horse cattle.
For us it is very important the preservation and coexistence with the rural environment that must be respected at all times.
From the hamlet you can make multiple tours on foot along marked rural roads, easily reaching Bidania, Ernio or Urkizu among impressive natural forests.
Always with respect for the animals and farms through which they cross the roads.
