We are sorry that some aspects of the property did not fully meet your expectations. We take comments regarding the shower, the kitchen and the pool area seriously and will review these points with the owner. However, we would like to clarify the circumstances surrounding the emergency call-out, as we feel that the low overall rating does not fairly reflect the stay or the circumstances of this particular incident. The large notice on the terrace door clearly states that guests should not close the door behind them when going outside, as they may lock themselves out. This is also explained in our booking conditions, which clearly state that a charge may apply if we are required to attend the property to provide access following a lock-out. The incident occurred on a Sunday at approximately 23:00, requiring an emergency call-out outside our normal office hours. We also invited you to consult our published price list, where the applicable emergency call-out charge is clearly stated. As a gesture of goodwill, we did not charge the full amount indicated in our tariff and reduced the charge on this occasion. We fully understand that no guest wants to incur an additional charge during their holiday, and we are always happy to explain such charges. However, we believe it would be unfair for an avoidable lock-out, despite the clear warning provided at the property and in our booking conditions, to result in a low overall rating that could negatively affect the property owner.
