Welcome to Northern Lookout at Plaza On The Ridge - where your ‘backyard’ is literally a ski run - Perfection🟦 to be precise. Experience true ski in / ski out access to the mountain, with a 450m/1,500ft slide down to the Ridge Rocket, Snow Ghost, and Plaza chairlifts, you’ll be sure to claim first chair on epic pow days! Pop back in for a quick home made hot chocolate / refuel, and you’re straight back out on to the slopes - no wasting precious time or energy hauling your gear back to your condo - the ski racks are right outside your back door! (Secure ski locker also available for whenever you’re enjoying other activities.) The beginner Magic Carpet at Happy Valley (also where the skating rink, snowshoe trails, fireworks, and tubing are located) is very easy to get to with a 5 minute walk to the Village Centre. (A sled is available in the condo which you are welcome to use for towing your kids & all their gear, to save their little legs for skiing). In the village, grab your rentals & lift ticket at the Village Centre Mall, meet your instructor (or drop the kids off at the Kid’s Centre), ride the gondola down for another 5 minutes, and you’re there!
After you’re done with your activities for the day, wind down by watching the spectacular sunsets from the hot tub (winter only), or kick back on the massage chair.
When you’re ready for dinner, show off your culinary skills in the kitchen (online grocery pick-up options can be provided to you) and have a quiet night in by the fire playing board games. Or enjoy the multitude of dining options 5-10 minutes walk from your door, followed by a big night at Snowshoe Sam’s (kids welcome until 8pm).
Wake up with fresh coffee (Keurig machine in unit) & your favourite breakfast of choice, or pop to the top of the road to Toasty (open year-round, mostly) for dangerously good in-store baked goods, fresh baked bread, and of course a full selection of morning beverages to set yourself up for the day. Be warned - their Creme Brûlée donuts are too good to have just once, and they sell out quick everyday. Luckily you’re just a hop, skip and a jump away!
Need to catch up on some emails, or hop on a quick Teams meeting? The desk is situated away from the hustle & bustle in the unit, so you can have the peace & quiet you need.
[Here for the summer vibes, escaping the summer heat? Big White is consistently ~10°c cooler than Kelowna, and we typically sit above the valley smoke! So come and enjoy the Alpine Flowers, hiking, scenic chairlift rides, pump track, Downhill mountain biking or use this as your bikepacking base. Check out the Big White website for summer hours of operation, and the events page to see what’s on!]
