About this property

La Casetta del Casaro - apartment on the farm

La Casetta del Casaro is a completely self-contained building. It features a small living room, a kitchenette with two burners, a refrigerator, and a microwave, an en suite bathroom, and, upstairs, a bedroom with two single beds.
It has independent heating, hot water, and all necessary kitchen utensils. It was a small dairy from the 18th century until 30 years ago and is built entirely of local stone, having been authentically restored.

The recent restoration has preserved the original structure, so the interior walls feature exposed stone, and the ground-floor ceiling has been restored while retaining the original beams. The attic, on the other hand, has been completely renovated with antique fir flooring and tongue-and-groove paneling on the ceiling, making it bright and functional.
The building is heated in winter with individually controlled temperature settings. The bathroom is equipped with a toilet and a shower. Towels, soap, and a hair dryer are provided. Pots, pans, and dishes are stored in the kitchen cabinets.
Free Wi-Fi is available both inside and outside the cottage.

Breakfast is self-catered, thanks to the kitchenette in the cottage. During the right season, we’ll be happy to provide you with organic eggs, fruits, and vegetables from our gardens. You’re welcome to come with us to pick them yourself. Alternatively, upon request, breakfast service is available for 10 euros per person in the breakfast room of the main building. In the Alpine tradition, breakfast consists of sweet and savory dishes, homemade jams, fresh bread, milk, and many other items, including eggs from the farm.
Outside, there are tables and chairs in the sun or under the trees that guests can use for lunch, reading, or working on their laptops.
Ortoalpino provides 2 mountain bikes for guests who wish to use them to explore the surrounding area. We offer them free of charge.
Behind the two cottages, there is a small area with a fire pit where you can safely build a fire and cook meat and vegetables. This service is also free; simply go into the nearby woods to gather firewood.

It is very important to us that our guests, if they wish, feel like part of the farm. Check-in takes place at the main building, which serves as a central point of contact for any needs or questions. Nighttime service is always available at the main building or, especially in the summer, at the guesthouse accommodations. Staff are also available to give tours of the farm and introduce guests to the animals, subject to availability and favorable weather conditions.

This hospitality is part of a broader project: the house is often visited by guests and groups who share spaces and activities. Michele and his team guide guests on a tour of the property and are on hand to make their stay as enjoyable as possible.

One of the experiences offered is the “shared garden”: a sunny area where guests can participate in simple farming activities such as sowing seeds, tending to plants, and harvesting produce during their stay. The goal is to have a hands-on experience with nature, even if it doesn’t always follow the entire cultivation cycle. Tools are provided on-site, and no fixed commitment is required: everyone participates freely, in accordance with natural farming principles.

Another offering is the “Farm Dinner,” a convivial experience featuring traditional Alpine dishes prepared with local ingredients. The menu is set and the same for everyone; it changes every evening and includes 1 or 2 appetizers, a first course, a main course, and dessert. Alternatives are limited, for example, for vegetarians. Dinner is served at 8:00 p.m. in the breakfast room and can be shared with other guests, creating a warm and authentic atmosphere.
