Welcome to Strandgården – a fully listed farmhouse from 1798, located on a quiet, fenced-in plot surrounded by pine trees. The house was originally inhabited by heathland dwellers who made their living from sheep farming and fishing. Today, the farm offers authenticity and atmosphere with respect for the age of the house.
The interior design reflects the history of the house with a focus on cosiness and authenticity. Please note that the ceilings are low, as the house was built for people of a different height than today.
The grounds are surrounded by pine trees, and you will often be visited by hares, roe deer and red deer grazing nearby. The walk takes you across the salt marshes to the sea – just a 2-minute walk to one of Denmark's most beautiful beaches, known for being family-friendly with no undertow.
Walk along the beach to Hvidbjerg or on to Skallingen – a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Wadden Sea. To the right, you will reach Denmark's westernmost point, Blåvandshuk, with its lighthouse and breathtaking sunsets. Explore Kallesmærsk Hede, Tane Hede, and the forests, where you can find chanterelles and Karl Johan mushrooms.
