About this property

Historic timber cottage from 1700s on Hamburgö

Welcome to a log cabin dating back to the 18th century on Hamburgö in northern Bohuslän. Here, history and sea views meet in a former granary from Norrland. You wake up to the sound of waves and wonder why you didn't come here sooner. The cottage has been here since 1968 and invites you to relax and unwind with a panoramic view of the sea to the west.

The main room impresses with its high ceilings, exposed rafters, and authentic log walls. The well-equipped kitchen has a serving hatch to the main room, perfect for shared meals. Three bedrooms provide space for the whole family, and with a separate shower/washroom and toilet, there is plenty of room. The guest cottage with bunk beds, its own kitchenette, and sea view provides extra space for larger groups.

The large terrace facing the sea will become your favorite place for morning coffee and evening meals. From here, you can follow the horizon and watch how the light changes throughout the day. The 40 m² basement has a washing machine and storage space. Around the cottage, nature invites you to go on excursions along hiking trails and swim from cliffs or family-friendly sandy beaches.

For fishing enthusiasts, there are opportunities to catch sea trout from April 1 to September 30. Otherwise, all fishing is free.

From September 21 until November 30, lobster fishing is also available!

Even if you don't fish, you can still take part in the fantastic lobster festival.

Discover the impressive rock carvings at Vitlycke Museum or visit Nordens Ark, where endangered animals live in vast natural areas. Take the boat to the Väderöarna islands for a day trip or a diving excursion (Dyk-Leif). Explore picturesque Fjällbacka and Smögen, and take the opportunity to book an exciting seal safari in the Fjällbacka archipelago (Fjällbacka Skärgårdstjänst). Don't miss the chance to try a delicious Kalvö Ostron oyster experience. Here on Hamburgö, you'll find everything you need for a memorable vacation in Bohuslän.
