About this property

Historic house by stream in Swedish forest

Where the road curves over the stream, you will find Den Gamle Landhandel, dating from the mid-1800s. Here, the history of the house comes to life through the shop counter, initials carved into the beams, and the vagabond shelf. The old oven bakes fantastic pizzas, and the birdsong from the surrounding forests creates the perfect morning chorus.

The house is spacious and suitable for two families or three generations. You will find functional kitchen facilities with the characteristic old oven, living rooms with long tables and wood-burning stoves, as well as a games room with games and puzzles. Books by Astrid Lindgren and other Swedish classics are ready on the shelves.

The large open garden provides plenty of space for playing and observing bird life. The large steps at the front door catch the morning sun, while the terrace at the back is ideal for long, light evenings. The covered terrace ensures outdoor living even in rainy weather.

From the property, you can start cycling, walking, and running on small roads and forest trails. Not far away is the deer park with red deer and wild boar. In the area, you will find flea markets, Swedish bakeries, and various attractions. Several beautiful swimming lakes are within a short drive.

A historic gem, where uneven floors, cozy surroundings, and little information notes set the stage for some wonderful days in Sweden. A nice little guidebook offered tips on nearby attractions, and we’d like to recommend the nearby swimming lake, the Brio Museum, and High Chaparral 🤠🐴🇸🇪
