About this property
Sunny Loreto Bay Villa; steps to beach & pool; golf, kayak, snorkel, explore
Whether you’re looking to dry out and warm up by spending time poolside with a good book and a refreshing margarita, or the thought of world-class sport fishing and canyon hiking gets your adrenaline pumping, the location of this bright, sunny, beachside villa – 90 steps from the beach and 45 steps from the lap pool – with relax-inspiring, 360-degree views of the Sierra de la Giganta mountains and Sea of Cortez, is the perfect retreat for those with every interest in between. Glad to share trip planning ideas as well as how to stretch your dollars on things like car rental. Direct flights from the US West Coast via Alaska and American Airlines or from Calgary via WestJet make getting to Loreto Bay easy since the airport (LTO) is 10 minutes away.
This two-bedroom villa is completely furnished with modern conveniences and appliances, including 3 TV’s with satellite service and wifi, all included in your stay. Use the two bikes to explore the community, or borrow the beach/ pool toys and equipment at your leisure. Lounge in the tropical garden setting of the back patio – complete with outdoor shower – while you watch hummingbirds zip around the bougainvillea and listen to the back courtyard fountain or Sea of Cortez, just steps away. Grill the day’s catch on the terrace grill, and feel free to use the washer/ dryer as needed. Our property manager is well known in the community for always being very responsive to our guests’ needs, and she is well-equipped to address any questions or concerns during your stay.
At Casa Colibrí (hummingbird), your day might start with fresh-squeezed orange juice on the 3rd level (viewing tower, or mirador en español) while you watch the sun emerge over the water, then maybe a leisurely stroll along the beach or along the brightly-colored, desert-landscaped callejones (alleys) and placitas, followed by a frothy cappuccino at the aptly-named La Sirena Baja Café, a couple blocks away.
Do you enjoy golf? We have it here. How about pickle-ball (or tennis)? That too. Maybe paddle-boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, diving, whale (or bird) watching, star-gazing, horseback riding, hiking, biking, or ATV’ing? All of the above. Or perhaps the old-world charm, history, and authentic Mexican flavor of Loreto’s restaurants, shops, and colonial Mission draw you to experience the true, laid-back Baja lifestyle? What you won’t find in this fishing-village-turned-hidden-gem anchoring the Loreto Bay National Marine Park is traffic, noise, or belligerent spring-break-ers stumbling home after an all-nighter at the club. The Villages of Loreto Bay is an oasis for those looking to unwind, re-energize, and soak up the sun, a place for vacationers, retirees, families with children of all ages, loungers, adventurers, tri-athletes, or those wishing to do nothing more than read a good book, sip a tasty margarita, sprawl out next to the pool, and maybe practice speaking Spanish with one of our 24/7/365 security team.
Numerous restaurants, shops, spas, two grocery marts, and a bar/ gallery line our main thoroughfare, all within walking distance. At the Loreto Bay Golf and Spa Resort, you have even more options, including their beach-front restaurant and swim-up bar, pool/ hot tub, spa, and exercise room (requiring a modest fee), all accessible to our guests.
The theme of Loreto Bay is “Live Fully. Tread lightly.” We hope you decide to book your stay at Casa Colibrí and experience all the natural beauty this Baja jewel has to offer.
NOTE: All reservations of more than 4 guests require owner's prior approval, and no reservations of more than 4 guests (and less than the maximum of 6) for more than two weeks will be approved.

About the host
Hosted by Craig Costanza

We are a family of four from Vancouver, WA, who love to travel, explore, learn, and eat together.
Why they chose this property
We have traveled extensively throughout Mexico over the years, including: the Copper Canyon, Tulum, Guanajuato, Tequila, Sanalona, Guadalajara, Morelia, and all over Baja, among many other places. When we "discovered" Loreto and all it has to offer a few years ago, we decided it's the best place for our family to share in the wonders of the Mexican culture and the warmth of its people, and for our kids to practice their espanol. And now we share it with you!
What makes this property unique
Once we saw Casa Colibri's views, I believe we were sold! Vistas of the Sea of Cortez to the east and the Sierra de la Giganta mountains to the west are truly postcard-worthy. Having a spacious, verdant backyard patio with hummingbirds zipping about also drew us in immediately. Loreto Bay's desert-landscaped walkways, courtyards and hidden fountains made us want to get lost in the maze of narrow, colorful callejones. Not to mention the location of the villa: we are beachside and midway between the Paseo and the lap pool, so everything is virtually a few steps away, whether a morning caffeine fix at El Corazon Cafe, a refreshing dip in the pool, or a relaxing stroll along the beach.
