A private heated pool stretches out beneath the sun, framed by olive trees, six loungers and a generous terrace with shaded dining for twelve and a private barbecue for slow summer evenings. Location

Set in peaceful green countryside on the eastern side of the Istrian peninsula, Villa Ruma enjoys the best of both worlds, with rural calm and the coast close at hand. The medieval hilltop town of Labin, with its colourful old town, art galleries, cafés and restaurants, is only a few minutes away, while the seaside resort of Rabac and its pretty Kvarner Bay beaches are around a 10 to 15-minute drive.

Labin itself rewards a wander, from the Renaissance Saint Florian\'s gate and the Baroque Battiala-Lazzarini Palace to the Saint Just bell tower and the Fortica viewpoint, where the panorama stretches over Rabac, the Kvarner Gulf and the islands of Cres and Lošinj. Just outside town, the Dubrova Sculpture Park scatters more than seventy stone works across open parkland, while the Sentona Trail winds down through woodland and waterfalls towards the sea. Further afield, the Roman city of Pula, with its remarkably preserved amphitheatre, makes a rewarding day trip at about an hour away.
