Located between Saksild and Hou on the Kattegat coast of East Jutland, this authentic 1970s summer house underwent a careful renovation in 2026. The warm wood finishes and original style have been preserved, and the house is perfect for families and couples who want to slow down and spend their days at the beach, in the garden, and enjoying each other’s company.
Inside, the wood and warm tones set the mood. In the evening, you’ll naturally gather around the fireplace, and there’s room for both quiet reflection and togetherness in the same spaces. The house has a private annex on the property, which is locked and not part of the rental, so you’ll have the house and garden all to yourselves.
The large terrace with a half-roof is the house’s main outdoor space, and you can sit there both in the sun and after sunset. The garden has plenty of room for play, a trampoline, and a fire pit. The beach at the end of the road is wide, white, and shallow, and early in the morning you can walk down there to watch the sun rise over the sea.
Hou is located 3 km to the south, featuring a marina, the Raalingen restaurant, and a ferry to the car-free islands of Tunø and Samsø. Fru Møllers Mølleri is a farm shop with a bakery, butcher shop, restaurant, and ice cream parlor. Denmark’s oldest mini-golf course is located in Saksild, and Aarhus is 25–30 minutes away by car or via the local train from Odder.
