About this property
Charming, Family Friendly home. Walk to playground, grocery, restaurants.,beach.
This light and airy Cape Cod Cottage was built in 1950 but was completely renovated in 2013. It is located on a small road that ends at a marsh and is an easy ten-minute drive from the Bourne Bridge. There is a lovely stone patio to use to enjoy your meals or read a book. Enjoy alfresco dining on the stone patio. There is a large gas grill and plenty of room to eat and to enjoy the day. A hammock in the front yard is a great way to read a book or nap. There are casual restaurants, a grocery store, playground and churches all within a ten-minute walk. There is a small beach under a mile away where you can swim, sun, or just watch the boats or glorious sunsets. There are several nearby beaches under a 15-minute drive as well as other attractions and restaurants. The owner has provided some swim gear for you to enjoy as well as toys and games for visiting children. The finished attic is clean and bright and is a fun place for the children to play (the3rd bedroom) is perfect for a children's bedroom and playroom. There is a king sized bed, single bed and blow-up bed available in the attic. Please be aware that attic has a slanted roof and has low height on the sides. There is a queen bed in one bedroom and two twins in a second room, both on the main floor. Enjoy cooking all your meals in a fully equipped galley kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite counters. The house boasts hardwood floors and air conditioning throughout, including an additional window air conditioner in the attic. Brand new main floor washer and dryer added in 2017. Rinse off the sand from your feet in the outdoor cedar showe or just enjoy a shower in the moonlight. The cottage is within a half hour drive to the Boat to Martha's Vineyard, and an hour toThe National Seashore, as well as all the quaint harbors and wonderful sand beaches you could want in between. .

About the host
Hosted by Tracy

I visited my college room mate on the Cape for many years. When I was looking for a place to retire, I fell in love with friendliness of the people I met here. I have worked with young children for 47 years and so you will find many child friendly items in my house I lived in Africa for two years, Chile for 6 months and have traveled to many other places. I wanted to share my lovely home here on the Cape. Renting my home gives me the freedom to continue traveling.
Why they chose this property
I am an avid swimmer and loved the fact that I could swim everyday from May through October. I live on a small street that ends on a marsh. One neighbor is a fishermen so you know you are visiting an authentic Cape Cod neighborhood! The house is small but there are two cozy rooms to sit in and talk or watch TV. Watching the birds at the bird feeder is another relaxing past time, , especially the beautiful Wrens. Outside also has several areas where small groups can sit or you can just be alone in the hammock.
What makes this property unique
Avoid the miles of back up traffic and get to the Cape quickly. Lots to see off the beaten path right here but you also have access to all the wonders that the Cape has to offer as well as New Bedford and other off Cape Cod towns.
