About this property

4 Bed in Upton Cross (oc-j34643)

Located on the eastern edge of Bodmin Moor this four-bedroom property provides a peaceful escape surrounded by some of Cornwall’s most atmospheric landscapes. Nature-loving groups of family or friends will love exploring the open countryside that stretches out in every direction, with Caradon Hill rising through the trees nearby. The village of Upton Cross has a welcoming pub and a popular open-air theatre (1.5 miles) where you may be able to catch a performance. For access to Caradon Hill’s summit (3.5 miles), head 3 miles to the moorland village of Minions. This history-rich area, a World Heritage Site, features the Bronze Age Hurlers stone circle and the Mining Heritage Centre (3.5 miles) and the dramatic Cheesewring rock formation (4 miles). For water sports, trout fishing or a cycle route head to Siblyback Lake reservoir (6.5 miles) where you will also find a cafe. With open moorland accessible within 1.25 miles and riverside walks through Stara Woods (0.5 miles), this is a wonderful base for a scenic stay. The property is perfectly located to access both the dramatic north coast where you can visit legendary Tintagel or surf Bude's waves, and the scenic south coast scattered with pretty fishing towns and villages such as Polperro and Looe.

The front door opens directly into a bright, open-plan living area which offers a great space to relax together. Sit back on the sofas and pop something on the TV. The fully fitted kitchen, all in sleek wood, features a central island unit and everything you’ll need for easy self-catering. This flows neatly into the dining area. Large French windows flood the room with light. Still on the ground floor, an inner lobby leads to two accessible bedrooms: a double with an en-suite wet room, and a separate bunk room with adult-sized beds. Upstairs, a central landing connects to a family bathroom, a twin bedroom and the spacious king-size bedroom. This enjoys its own en-suite shower room and opens onto a railed balcony, offering panoramic views across the surrounding Cornish countryside.

The sun terrace outside is lovely for absorbing those countryside views that stretch out beyond the garden. You’ll have garden furniture for relaxing and, if you’ve come with horses, a 1-acre paddock for them to trot around.
