Situated on the fringes of the traditional village of Bream, this property, rumoured to be the oldest house in Bream and dating back to 1475, is an ideal base for exploring the Royal Forest of Dean. An excellent choice for the adventurous, the local area offers a wealth of footpaths and cycle routes as well as caving, abseiling, canoeing and even high wire rope courses. Nearby are Clearwell with its ancient caves and St Briavels with its castle, as well as Dean Heritage Centre and Dean Forest Steam Railway. A short drive will bring you to the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye, where you will find a wealth of shops, cafes and pubs.
Inside, the accommodation is warm and welcoming with exposed beams and stonework. Prepare romantic meals for two in the shaker style kitchen, which contains an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine. Stone steps lead down to the lounge/diner where there is a small table and chairs for enjoying meals beside the woodburner, which sits in a large inglenook fireplace. Afterwards, take your pick from the choice of comfortable sofas and chairs and enjoy a relaxing evening in front of the TV/DVD. The double bedroom is spacious and bright with oak furniture, wooden flooring and an exposed ceiling beam. There is a bathroom with shower over bath on the ground floor.
To the front of the property you will find a pretty walled garden with garden furniture on a patio area and a good-sized lawn beyond, perfect for dogs.
