About this property

2 Bed in Bellingham (oc-h45426)

Escape to this stylish stone-built cottage in the heart of Bellingham, a friendly village set on the River North Tyne. Sleeping four guests across two bedrooms, it’s a welcoming retreat for couples, families, or friends looking to explore the Northumberland countryside. Set off straight from the front door on waymarked footpaths, including the Pennine Way and the Reivers Coast to Coast cycle way, or head 0.2 miles to the start of the Hareshaw Linn Woodland Walk, a picturesque 3-mile round trip leading through ancient woodland to one of Northumberland's most photographed waterfalls. On a grander scale, Kielder Water is 14.5 miles away, offering walking, cycling, paddleboarding, sailing, water sports and some of the darkest skies in Europe for unforgettable stargazing. Closer to home, Northstar Cottage sits just moments from Bellingham's independent shops, cafés, a garage and traditional pubs and restaurants.

Step inside this three-storey cottage and you’ll find a calm home that blends historic character, including exposed beams and thick stone walls, with a thoughtfully curated Scandinavian-style interior. The open-plan lounge/diner is the heart of the home, with comfortable seating, a wood burner, a Smart TV, and a dining table with bench seating for four. One step up leads through to the kitchen, which has everything needed for self-catering. The back door opens onto the lane, handy when heading out with the dogs. On the first floor, the spacious super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom can be arranged as a twin on request. The bathroom is also on this floor and has a shower over the bath and WC. Continue up to the second floor, where the landing is full of books, board games, and puzzles. The utility room is off this landing, with space to hang outdoor gear, while the second bedroom has a low double bed and storage space.

Outside, enjoy morning coffee or an evening drink from the seating at the front of the cottage and watch village life unfold. Free on-street parking is available, subject to availability, with options opposite the property and in a public car park less than 100 metres away. EV charging is not available at the property, but there are several EV charging points in the village.
