And here's the exciting news - "Dune Life" now warmly welcomes your furry companions, as it is officially PET FRIENDLY!

Upon entering, be enchanted by the coastal-inspired decor and panoramic ocean views that grace every corner. The updated open kitchen, living room, and dining area create an ideal setting for entertaining and cherished family moments. For added convenience, a half bath is conveniently located beside the kitchen, while a private master bedroom with private bath and ocean views beckons you. Step out onto the deck overlooking the ocean, where you can unwind and rock your worries away with your favorite ice-cold beverage.

Venture upstairs to discover a secondary gathering area with a sofa and television to entertain everyone. A full-sized front-loading stacked washer and dryer ensures that laundry is a breeze for the three additional bedrooms on this level. The bright, cheerful "Turtle Room" features ocean views and a queen size bed with an updated private bath. You'll also find another queen bedroom and a bunk room, both with marsh views.

Excellent Home!

This home was very neat and clean with some recent updates in bathrooms and doors. The kitchen was equipped with plenty of dinnerware and utensils, and a wide variety of pots, pans and baking dishes - helpful for a large family making and eating all our meals at the house! The house fit our family of 8 very well (ages adult down to 2y.o.). Though the dining area was a little cramped, it was functional and did seat all 8 of us (again, this may only be a factor if you are looking to eat all your meals in-house). The access to the beach was easy and the outdoor shower set-up was very handy. The porch and deck were well stocked with comfortable rocking chairs which we enjoyed very much! We really did not have any problems or complaints and are happy to give a good review!

Our first trip to Holden won't be our last! Already booked for next year.

My daughter and I searched for weeks for the perfect house. We spent many summer vacations in a motel at Myrtle and decided to visit a new beach this year. Booking an ocean front house was a big step for us. It was all about location, the view, the porch, and ease of booking for us. When our search took us to High Cotton on Holden Beach through VRBO we knew we found exactly what we were looking for! Located on the east end of the island it provided us a magnificent view, two huge porches, wide open beach space and lots of room for our family of 8. Not all reviews on High Cotton were 100% positive, but mine is! Sure, there are small things you can nit pick, but nothing that deserves a negative review. (However, I would suggest you take your favorite frying pan!) The kitchen is fully stocked with everything, including a potato peeler! The kids loved the outside shower, and we adults liked the size of the master bathrooms. One of the showers upstairs had a wonky sliding shower door, but it was easily worked through. High Cotton is a great house and if it doesn't suit everyone they had to spend too much time inside! We can't wait to go back next year. I just can't say enough about the porches and their view from the rockers, or the ease of the walk to the beach. Holden is a beautiful beach and I feel so lucky that our search landed us there! Until 2022, thank you for the BEST vacation we've had in years!

Good place to stay with a few cons

Good property to stay at minus a few things that reflect a 3 out of 5 rating. The upstairs door leading in from the top deck is hard to shut and our kids (any kid in general) couldn’t close it properly. That seems to have caused the water stains on the carpet and caused the floor baseboard trim to take on damage too. 2 upstairs queen beds are squeaky as well, pillows are basic for all beds so bring your own if you want something more comfortable. Also during some heavy rain we had during our trip, the top bedroom window(s) facing ocean had water seeping in. Also, one morning opening up our box of doughnuts I was surprised by them being covered in ants. Overall decent/average place to stay but next trip I’ll be finding another place to stay for that amount of money it costs for my families 1 week vacation.

Needs some TLC and attention to details. Lacking in bedside tables & lamps, outside steps and rails need repair, more towel bars in bathrooms, frying pans have been abused. Overall nice house.

Beach Getaway

We had a great time at this beach house. We stayed 7 days and were provided sheets (included) which I liked. I really wished that we would have had towels. Bringing our own ended up being a pain with the packing. We enjoyed the open kitchen/living room design. The windows gave a nice view to the beach. None of the windows stayed open by themselves so we had to prop them open at night if we wanted to hear the ocean. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and cookware that you needed. It was great to have such easy access to the beach all day! It was nice to have so many TVs...everyone could watch what they wanted at night or the kids could play their video games without disturbing the grandparents. We really enjoyed our stay!

We loved how close it was to the beach which made it so easy with small children to go back and forth throughout the day. I loved that it wasn’t too commercialized and we could just be on the beach all day and go out to dinner. There is plenty of good good close by.
