About this property
Cape Cod Charm in Naushop w/ pool, tennis courts, outdoor shower and nice yard
Newly available- July and August! Book the months and beat the weekly rate- email me for monthly rate! Newly renovated and brand new to the Nantucket rental market in 2018! Purchased Fall 2017. The bathrooms were completely remodeled in April of 2018 with new showers, tile, vanity, faucets etc.
This two story Cape Cod style home has lots of windows and sunlight and a bright, cheery decor. The back porch is a beautiful private oasis with an outdoor shower, an outdoor dining table and chaise lounge- all secluded by a privet and hydrangeas, roses, and perennials. On the first floor is a kitchen that includes everything you'll need if you choose to cook and an extensive directory of the wonderful local restaurants for Nantucket dining at its finest. There is a washer & dryer, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom on the first floor. Upstairs you'll find 2 more bedrooms and 1 bathroom with shower. There is no central AC but window units will be provided for the bedrooms in the summer. There is a large, private grassy back yard with a deck.
Steps away from the house you'll enjoy meandering bike paths that will take you all throughout Naushop and beyond- Nantucket has some of the best bike paths on which you can ride all over the island- to the beaches, to the Old Historic District, and of course shopping! The NRTA bus stop is a just a short walk from the house the buses will drop you off all over the island as they run on continual loops. After a nice day at the beach or in town shopping or sight seeing, you'll love the amenities that Naushop offers. The heated pool, baby pool, tennis courts, shuffleboard courts, playground, clubhouse, and extensive walking paths throughout the clean and safe neighborhood provide hours of leisure activities. You will truly love this island retreat!
Keep in mind that June, September and October are great months to visit the island because it's still very warm, all of the restaurants are open, the crowds are smaller, and prices are lower.
NOTE: The car ferries book fast so don't delay in making your reservations if you intend to bring a car to the island. From LOTS of experience I can tell you that if the car ferries are already full for your travel day, with the Steamship Authority, go ahead and make a reservation for your car for a later day and have them put your car on the "STANDBY" reservation list for the day you want it on the island. If you get on that list early in the season your car will most likely (about a 99% chance) get to travel to the island on your designated arrival date.

About the host
Hosted by Susan Renzulli
My name is Susan and I, along with my parents, just purchased this property in November 2017. We owned another property in Naushop for over five years and sold it to buy this lovely home. Additionally I've had a home in Nantucket for over 12 years and I spend much of the year there.
Why they chose this property
I've been coming to Nantucket for over 20 years and feel very fortunate to own property on that beautiful island. This particular house is very special. It had been owned by a sweet Irish man, Patrick, for approximately two decades and when he decided to move back to Ireland we were happy to be able to purchase it. We completely renovated the bathrooms as well as added interior paint, decorations, and new furniture including new mattresses and linens, appliances and carpets.
What makes this property unique
Perfect location; Naushop is an ideal community for families. Staying in this home is very comfortable- it has large windows facing all four directions so the natural sunlight and cool island breezes are very appealing. We love the private patio; it's a great place to lounge, cookout, and dine. The front yard is nice as well.
It is a unique piece of property very close to everything- beaches, town, Old Historic District, airport. It is also connected to the island's bike paths and the bus route- which will take you to all of the beaches, town, airport, shopping, etc., is just a minute walk away. Also, right across the street from Naushop is a variety story, a little diner, convenience store, and package store you can easily walk to. There is also a fish market within walking distance. Naushop is a very beautiful neighborhood that is kept in pristine condition.
The tennis courts and swimming pools are a huge bonus- there is so much to do. And, the people in Naushop are so friendly! It's a very safe, family friendly community. If you don't bring your bikes you can easily rent them- the rental shops will even drop bikes off and pick them up for you!
