Everything was smooth with check in and checkout. Things were very clean. Some of the furniture could use some upgrading. The mattresses were very worn. Great location.
Just left the house and we enjoyed it a lot!! The location is great - to the beach and also to Long Bill’s. There is everything you need in the kitchen and the decks are great with a good bit of a view. Our son loved the loft and the view from the upper deck. We’ll be back for sure
The house was beautiful and easy access to beach. The house provided beach essentials as well which was great as less to pack. Would definitely stay here again.
My wife and I stayed at this vacation property for a week in March. The house was fantastic and right down the street from the park. The owner is very prompt with any requests. Thank you!
My spouse and I went for our 20 year anniversary. The owners were very accommodating and flexible to our schedule. Close to the beach and Longbills has great tacos!
House is as described, with a private beach a short walk from the house and the state park a short drive. The owner communicated quickly and efficiently regarding a small matter. Highly recommend!
My family and two dogs had an amazing stay in this great home. The location was perfect: just a short walk from the beach. We rode bikes into the park and enjoyed the bay as well. The home was well equipped and our dogs enjoyed the dog beds and bowls. We cooked most all of our meals and found the kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed views from the upper deck and the screened in porch. Jason was great communicating with us promptly. We would definitely return!
We so enjoyed our time at this home. The home was just as described. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed (we cooked most meals at home). The place was clean and comfortable. Proximity to beach and state park was great. Host communication was top-notch. We hope to stay here again one day.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Property was a little dated. Needed a coat of paint. Walked in to many dead bugs all over the floor because it had just been sprayed. Clearly had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. Yard was overgrown and unusable by our dog. Dryer was rusted and did not work and other guests had left notes in the log book about the dryer which had apparently been ignored. Not enough towels so we had to wash them and hang them to dry. Positives: Located next to restaurant and with good beach access. Very dog friendly. AC kept it cool in August. Great view from the upper balcony. Very affordable.
First time visting Cape San Blas and Port St. Joe. The Salty Pine was just the perfect little spot for my wife, son, and I. Jason was a great host and was quick to answer any questions that I had. Just a few minutes walk to the beach and just right across the road from Long Bills restaurant. Very pet friendly and didnt have any issues. Thanks again Jason!
The house was as listed and in a central proximity to the beach and bay. We chose to use provided beach access one day and the State Park beach access on another. Easter morning sunrise was beautiful at the kayak launching area across from the big rocks upon entering the Cape. The layout of the house was perfect for children to be close during the night but privacy easily attained as well. The home was the cleanest of any we’ve stayed at over the last 5 years.
The house was right next door to Longbills which is good and bad….. a bit busy right there. The microwave was inoperable, but no biggie. All in all we enjoyed our stay. There is a huge shower upstairs which isn’t mentioned in the descriptive part of the listing. Wow!! It was nice! Two master suites on the third floor. Enjoyed that very much, my husband snores. lol. Thank you for allowing us to bring our baby, my Shih tzu Beau. He thoroughly enjoyed the stairs. Haha
We had such an amazing time staying at Jason’s home. The house was just what we needed for our quiet girls weekend.
Check-in was so easy, and Jason even accommodated an early check-in for us. He was EXTREMELY responsive and was so helpful!
Beach access is very close, and the beach is quiet and stunning. The only thing to note is that there is a steep sand hill getting down to the beach from the public access, so scope it out before bringing a lot of things to the beach. It was a challenge getting up it back up but we got it done!
Our furry friends didn’t join us, but you can tell they LOVE their pets. They even had an emergency vet clinic’s number on the fridge!
LongBill’s was also great and is just a few steps from the house.
Overall, what an amazing stay!!
We just returned from our trip and really enjoyed our stay at Salty Pines. Overall, the description is accurate. There are a few things that I wish I had known prior to arriving. The beach wagon is in very poor condition. Had we known, we would’ve brought ours from home. Also, there is only one beach chair. There are folding camping chairs but that’s not ideal for the beach so we bought chairs at the Trading Post. There is one roll of paper towels, 1 extra trash bag and one roll of toilet paper per bathroom so come prepared with those items. The walk to the beach was fine but quite a haul with that wagon. We used the wagon once and then carried everything the rest of the trip. At least we got our exercise in! Lastly, there wasn’t a broom or vacuum to clean up sand. I try to maintain other’s homes as I would my own and it was very “sandy” as you would expect. Now, to the good! Very convenient…delicious restaurants, ice cream, shopping. Easy walk to the beach…5 minutes. Older house but clean, well maintained and quiet. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch at night and nice yard to walk our dog. There are definitely more pros than cons. Overall, it was a great trip and we are so glad that we found this area! Can’t wait to go back and we would stay here again…we would just be a bit more prepared.
My husband and I booked this house on a whim after watching a Youtube vid of people scalloping and it did not disappoint! Jason was very communicative, helpful, and understanding throughout the whole booking process! We had no issues with our stay and loved every single minute we spent on the Cape and the Bay! We look forward to coming back and doing it all over again next scallop season!
In today's busy world, it is not always possible to take an entire week off for a beach retreat. I appreciate the owner's willingness to, not only be flexible with turnover day but, a 5-day stay. The upper deck was perfect for star gazing at night. This is a perfect layout for two couples with each having their own bathroom. We found the home as described with no surprises. The walk to the beach was not an issue for us. The beach area was never crowded and the area overall was quite.
This was our first time to the Cape. It was a wonderful family vacation. The house is in a perfect spot and the beach was fabulous. We appreciated the outdoor shower and it is was very accommodating for our furry family member. We hope to make this a yearly tradition.
The location is spectacular! Close to the park and beach. We enjoyed both. House is as described and very comfortable. We can't wait for our next visit.
My family and I had an amazing time at this property! I can say with confidence after staying at different places on Cape over the past 16 years this place is in a really good location. It’s within walking distance to pretty much the only restaurants on Cape (at least at the time of this stay) - Longbill’s and Cone Heads. Beach access is close by (across CSB Rd) and it’s also right by the Park’s entrance.
The house had everything we could possibly need on a vacation. Loved that the owners are dog lovers like us :)
One small complaint that won’t apply to everybody - the mattress in one of the bedrooms was a bit uncomfortable due to softness but we got used to it after a couple of nights. Everything else was perfect and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back!
