Our stay at Salty Pines was a nice getaway. The property was easy to access and had plenty room for us to enjoy. It was in a good location with proximity to the beautiful State Park and the nearby restaurants. The owner was quick in his response the couple times we reached out and was easy to communicate with. We did notice a few areas for improvement as far as cleanliness: dirty hand towels in master, old watered down hand soap in the master, no dishwasher detergent, and a few other things, But ultimately, the house was a good fit for us. This was our first trip to Cape San Blas and we definitely will be back!

Great Location and well equipped with everything

Just left the house and we enjoyed it a lot!! The location is great - to the beach and also to Long Bill’s. There is everything you need in the kitchen and the decks are great with a good bit of a view. Our son loved the loft and the view from the upper deck. We’ll be back for sure

A Great Cape Escape

We so enjoyed our time at this home. The home was just as described. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed (we cooked most meals at home). The place was clean and comfortable. Proximity to beach and state park was great. Host communication was top-notch. We hope to stay here again one day.

Great pet friendly beach rental

My family and two dogs had an amazing stay in this great home. The location was perfect: just a short walk from the beach. We rode bikes into the park and enjoyed the bay as well. The home was well equipped and our dogs enjoyed the dog beds and bowls. We cooked most all of our meals and found the kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed views from the upper deck and the screened in porch. Jason was great communicating with us promptly. We would definitely return!

First time visting Cape San Blas and Port St. Joe. The Salty Pine was just the perfect little spot for my wife, son, and I. Jason was a great host and was quick to answer any questions that I had. Just a few minutes walk to the beach and just right across the road from Long Bills restaurant. Very pet friendly and didnt have any issues. Thanks again Jason!

Spring Break at the Cape

The house was as listed and in a central proximity to the beach and bay. We chose to use provided beach access one day and the State Park beach access on another. Easter morning sunrise was beautiful at the kayak launching area across from the big rocks upon entering the Cape. The layout of the house was perfect for children to be close during the night but privacy easily attained as well. The home was the cleanest of any we’ve stayed at over the last 5 years.

Property was a little dated. Needed a coat of paint. Walked in to many dead bugs all over the floor because it had just been sprayed. Clearly had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. Yard was overgrown and unusable by our dog. Dryer was rusted and did not work and other guests had left notes in the log book about the dryer which had apparently been ignored. Not enough towels so we had to wash them and hang them to dry. Positives: Located next to restaurant and with good beach access. Very dog friendly. AC kept it cool in August. Great view from the upper balcony. Very affordable.

Enjoyed the stay

The house was right next door to Longbills which is good and bad….. a bit busy right there. The microwave was inoperable, but no biggie. All in all we enjoyed our stay. There is a huge shower upstairs which isn’t mentioned in the descriptive part of the listing. Wow!! It was nice! Two master suites on the third floor. Enjoyed that very much, my husband snores. lol. Thank you for allowing us to bring our baby, my Shih tzu Beau. He thoroughly enjoyed the stairs. Haha

Amazing home and neighborhood!

We had such an amazing time staying at Jason’s home. The house was just what we needed for our quiet girls weekend. Check-in was so easy, and Jason even accommodated an early check-in for us. He was EXTREMELY responsive and was so helpful! Beach access is very close, and the beach is quiet and stunning. The only thing to note is that there is a steep sand hill getting down to the beach from the public access, so scope it out before bringing a lot of things to the beach. It was a challenge getting up it back up but we got it done! Our furry friends didn’t join us, but you can tell they LOVE their pets. They even had an emergency vet clinic’s number on the fridge! LongBill’s was also great and is just a few steps from the house. Overall, what an amazing stay!!

Lovely Beach House

We just returned from our trip and really enjoyed our stay at Salty Pines. Overall, the description is accurate. There are a few things that I wish I had known prior to arriving. The beach wagon is in very poor condition. Had we known, we would’ve brought ours from home. Also, there is only one beach chair. There are folding camping chairs but that’s not ideal for the beach so we bought chairs at the Trading Post. There is one roll of paper towels, 1 extra trash bag and one roll of toilet paper per bathroom so come prepared with those items. The walk to the beach was fine but quite a haul with that wagon. We used the wagon once and then carried everything the rest of the trip. At least we got our exercise in! Lastly, there wasn’t a broom or vacuum to clean up sand. I try to maintain other’s homes as I would my own and it was very “sandy” as you would expect. Now, to the good! Very convenient…delicious restaurants, ice cream, shopping. Easy walk to the beach…5 minutes. Older house but clean, well maintained and quiet. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch at night and nice yard to walk our dog. There are definitely more pros than cons. Overall, it was a great trip and we are so glad that we found this area! Can’t wait to go back and we would stay here again…we would just be a bit more prepared.

Our experience with this house was beyond horrible. So dirty with bugs and other stuff in the kitchen, the beds were sinking in and falling apart, furniture had dog hair all over it. The walk to the beach was not as advertised and the property condition is NOTHING like the photos. Kitchen was not well stocked, although it was so disgusting that I admittedly may have missed some things. There is also a safety concern with the way the home is secured. It was so dirty that we stayed one night and left. After engaging VRBO and showing them photos of the condition of the property, they got the homeowner to give us a partial refund. Hopefully the homeowner fixes it going forward, but I wouldn’t chance going here again - too many other places to stay that are in better shape, more convenient to the beach, and that put the comfort of the person renting at the forefront of their mind.

Salty Pines was the perfect getaway spot for our family of 4. There was more than enough space and everything we could have asked for was provided including an air fryer, coffee pot, toaster, pots, pans, blender, etc. Dish and hand soap were also provided as well as plenty of paper towels and toilet paper. We opted to make the 1 mile drive to Rish Park for pool/beach access and ended a few evenings enjoying LongBills to go. The location and convenience to things was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would definitely book here again.
