Heritage gîte in Aquitaine with shared pool

This estate has a special atmosphere, with many surprising corners and a lush garden. It seems as if time has stood still there. Ideal for holidays with family or friends!

The property is located at the top of a hill, right in the heart of the Dordogne and is closely linked to the surrounding nature. This location is perfect for nature lovers. Take lovely walks in the beautiful surroundings and enjoy the silence and tranquillity. The domain is an ideal starting point to discover the beautiful surroundings. This area is also called the capital of prehistory, because of the many prehistoric sites and the large number of rock paintings. Some of these sites are even on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Definitely worth a visit.

The estate houses 6 different houses, 4 of which are for rent. The 2 other houses belong to the managers and to the owners. The houses are attractively and characterfully furnished. Especially the extensive use of wood gives an authentic atmosphere. Enjoy this unique location by the shared swimming pool.

The domain is used for hunting on Sundays in the low season.
For reasons of tranquillity, this holiday home will not be rented to groups of youngsters

Tres bon séjour passé au domaine La Borderie. Calme absolu et bien situé. Charme des vieilles pierres. Nous avons bien apprécié la piscine, pour couper avec la chaleur de l’été . Très bon accueil des gérants et propriétaires .

Heerlijke vakantie gehad met een hele fijne en grote tuin met glijbaan, schommel ...

Heerlijke vakantie gehad met een hele fijne en grote tuin met glijbaan, schommels en groot zwembad (gedeeld met andere gasten, maar vaak waren we er alleen met ons eigen gezin). Zeer vriendelijke en gastvrije ontvangst. We mochten kruiden plukken uit de kruidentuin, vijgen van de bomen, bramen,ed. Kinderen mochten de schildpadden, geiten en eend eten geven en kletsen ronduit met de zeer vriendelijke (Nederlandse) beheerders. Huis is heerlijk rustig gelegen, en ook dichtbij (met de auto) heel veel bezienswaardigheden zoals leuke stadjes, Cro Magnon grotwoningen met tekeningen, sculpturen ed. middeleeuwse grotwoningen, kastelen, kanoen, wandelen. Keuken is van alle gemakken voorzien en biedt alle mogelijkheden om uitgebreid te koken (oven, ovenschalen, mixer, broodrooster, diverse keukengerei, wasmachine, etc etc). Handig om te weten met kleine kinderen om het zwembad staat een hek (grotendeels netjes weggewerkt dmv beplanting) met kindersluiting zodat ze niet in het zwembad kunnen vallen mocht je ze even uit het oog verliezen. Zwembad heeft heerlijke loungehoek, ligstoelen met kussens, parasols etc. En verder gratis wifi (handig om even wat op te zoeken), geen televisie aanwezig (maar ook niet gemist, want genoeg te doen.

Deze authentieke huisjes op afgelegen locatie zien er uit zoals ze ooit gebouwd zijn, een paar honderd jaar terug, denk ik. Het geheel ligt redelijk afgelegen en is bereikbaar na een rit van 3 km over deels onverharde weg vanaf de hoofdweg. Het complex bestaat uit 5 verschillende huizen, variërend in grootte, waarvan er 3 verhuurd worden. In 1 huis woont de Nederlandse eigenaar (niet gezien overigens) en in een ander huis wonen de Nederlandse beheerders. Zeer gastvrije mensen. Deze locatie is vooral geschikt voor rustzoekers die het niet erg vinden om 's ochtends 20 minuten te rijden naar de dichtstbijzijnde bakker of supermarkt. De beloofde broodjesservice bestond niet !! Dat is niet erg maar wel als je het vermeld op je website. De sfeer van de huisjes brengt je terug in de tijd. Alles is oud maar wel netjes. Wij hebben ons prima vermaakt (2 volwassenen en kind van 3 jaar). Het zwembad is perfect ook al is er geen pierebadje.
