We had a wonderful stay at this property for two months. The views are amazing and the property itself perfect. Couldn’t change a thing. Christy was quick to answer any questions as was the property manager. Thoroughly recommend a stay here.Cathy
Everything was exactly as advertised. Gorgeous views and close enough to shopping and dining but still a feel of solitude and tranquility. Would absolutely stay again!
Beautiful mountain views along with the privacy and location of this home were exactly what I was looking for to provide the relaxation and solitude I was seeking. Yet essential shopping for my two-month stay and a large variety of good restaurants were within an easy drive.
The property owner and manager were very attentive and pleasant to deal with.
This place was exactly what we were looking for as far as privacy and views. The landscaping is beautiful. We used the hot tub, fire pit and pool almost daily. The pool is a bit chilly but with it being 90 degree weather it felt good once you got in. We saw little baby quails, tons of lizards and humming birds. I’d definitely recommend this home.
This place is a gem for sure! It was our first time in AZ visiting family and we wanted to go somewhere that wasn’t congested with people right on top of each other, this was it! The views were absolutely breathtaking! It was very well maintained, very clean and had everything we needed. I was nervous about not having a/c, but the evaporative cooler worked so well! We had to layer up at night when the temperature dropped we got so chilly. The host was so accommodating with my many requests and I couldn’t have been more thankful! This place is literally an oasis with amazing views!! We have already started planning our next visit!!!
Five day stay in early April warming up from a cold MN winter. Great location with scenic views of the Catalina Mountains north and east of Tucson. Great bird watching-mourning doves. hummingbirds, roadrunners, owls. Had 70 to 90 degree days to enjoy. Close to hiking, dining and shopping. Two nights produced spectacular sunset colors on the mountains. Enjoyed the spacious house.
Pictures do not do this place justice. We wanted a private place with views and a pool. Check. We started each day out on the patio taking in the mountain vista while sipping our coffee and the listening to the birds. Location was perfect to local hiking at Catalina State Park. The grocery store was within 5 minutes drive so we never ate out. We will be back.
well i normally don't do reviews but here it goes, i was real afraid when i wife saw that it didn't have a/c being it was in Tuscon and temps was going to be over 100 every day , but after i got there and figured out what to do it was great , during the mid of day it was very comfortable and at night we had to turn off we got COLD ,lol so after the first day it was no problem at all i even ask my wife if we lived there if she would have one( swamp cooler ) and we both agreed yes we would ,
Now i did think the pool would be hotter than it was being the second week of june , we did get in 1 day you would think being over 100 degree it would warm up ,but no big deal at all we stayed very busy going to see everything ans we got back we was tired .
the house was very nice and well stocked , we really like the house and we WOULD stay there again no hesitation at all
if i had to really really pick, it would be the garbage situation, you have to take to refuse when leaving we stayed in several houses in the past and the first time doing this , but like i said if i had to really pick.
like i said i was so afraid of no a/c i was worried all week when my wife seen this ,
so if i can say 1 thing to owner thanks for having a great house i would love to have one just like this for my own really the truth
and 1 last thing i would change the listing to say swamp cooler on front page and not just in fine writing under amenities , i know people would be like me when i first was it.
i was uneducated i didnt know what it was , now i do and i hope people will read this review that way they will understand .
thank you to owner for a great house ,if anyone want to ask me feel free to ask i am on facebook robbie jackson
This Hilltop Oasis saved us after our initial accommodations fell through for our visit for my sister's wedding. We were scrambling to find a new place to stay and found that this place was available for the next day. We booked only a two days in advance. We were so grateful when Christy was able to allow us to check in early that Monday. The house is very nice and has a great kitchen. Very well stocked with dishes and tools. The rooms were just as described. The best part of this place is the patio, pool/jacuzzi, and the view. We enjoyed getting to go out and relax and see such a stunning view right outside. The place can be a little hard to find in the dark but we started to figure it out. The driveway is very gravely but manageable. Also, Christy was so easy to communicate with and very responsive! We greatly appreciated this.
Love this place- I keep coming back! Explored a great running trail nearby on this visit (actually a 4x4 road) and enjoyed the starry skies from the fabulous yard.
Second time here and will certainly book again! Extremely gracious host. Newly added light up address signage partway up the driveway will help confirm you are in the right place. Head to the top!
Love the hideaway feeling. The driveway kind of tells you you you will be tucked away in a nice private spot. Check in process was a breeze. Owner easy to communicate with. View from veranda is lovely. Wonderful home with several different outdoor areas for hanging out. Plenty of choice for indoor spaces too. Entry-sunroom is cheery and comfortable. I enjoyed lounging by the pool and look forward to using the huge hot tub on my next visit. Highly recommend.
We stayed March 29/2025 to April 6/2025 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the moment we walked through the door we just relaxed and felt right at home. The views were spectacular and the pool and hot tub/spa were pristine. There was lots of space both indoors and outdoors for our 20 month old Granddaughter to play. She enjoyed keeping watch on the Morning Doves nesting atop the brick pillars and the covey of Quails under the evergreen tree. We didn't want to be right in the city and so the location was good with just a little bit of added driving time to attractions. I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it highly to friends.
This was our second year staying here and we can’t say enough good things about this property. It is a beautiful home in a private, quiet location. Everything was provided for a comfortable stay. The owners were available whenever we had any questions. We will definitely be back and we highly recommend this property to others.
This place is perfect! We were visiting Tuscon to attend a football game at UofA and wanted a quiet place outside of the city to spend a few days exploring the area. Catalina is a very quiet and beautiful area north of the city near the mountains. The house is located on the top of a hill and is very private. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but there is a grocery store, restaurants just a few minutes away. Also close to great hiking and other outdoor activities. Highly recommend Catalina State Park and driving the back road from Oracle to the top Mt. Lemmon (definitely need a 4-wheel drive vehicle with high ground clearance to explore the local desert mountain roads). Check-in was straight forward, and the property manager was very prompt with communication. The house is very spacious and overall was very comfortable (the living room could use a sofa upgrade to something more comfortable for lounging and watching movies). The kitchen was well stocked and has everything you need and more. The outdoor space is the highlight of the property. Great covered patio to keep you out of the sun with amazing views of the mountains at sunset by the pool. The weather was fortunately very warm for late October so we were still able to use the pool, and also enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub daily. The description and pictures of the property are very accurate. Will definitely stay again when we're back in the area.
This was the second time my husband and I stayed here. We invited another couple to join us and they were as pleased as we were with the location, views from the property and the accomodations. We hiked, ate out and in and had everything we needed. Enjoyed waking up to the mountain view with our coffee and breakfast. Built a fire in the pit outside and stargazed. We even jumped in the pool for a brisk swim. We hope to be back again.
Entry road/driveway for off-road vehicles only, not well stocked w/ amenities (coffee, pencil/paper, remote batteries), internet/tv signal very poor, no ac/swamp cooler working and no heated pool. Noted book by front door where guests could leave remarks, with half the pages of the book ripped out.
Lovely home in a beautiful location; clean, well maintained and stocked with everything you need! Hosts are accommodating and available if needed. We highly recommend this rental !

Our family lives in Alaska but loves to spend time with our extended family in Tucson.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property as a way to have easy access to one of our favorite vacation spots and to thaw out from the cold Alaska winters. Did we mention the view?!
