My sister and I manage the cottage to give our guests a more personal experience. Previous renters have left wonderful reviews calling IDRO “magical”, “a perfect getaway”, “a favorite place” and one that “feeds your soul”. One renter wrote, “The entire home was stocked with anything and everything we could need, which was impressive! The vintage dishes made me giddy and so much in the home reminded me of my childhood. The history of the cottage and all the decor and antiques were just beautiful. I will certainly be returning to IDRO :) Your great grandparents created a wonderful cottage.”

Vintage cottage in Mt. Gretna’s Camp Meeting location. Clean, comfortable, and charming. We enjoyed “the porch life,” and feeling like we were transported to time before now.
Absolutely wonderful accommodations! Location was awesome, plenty of parking, they had everything you could imagine that you would need! Kitchen equipment, bedding above and beyond! The porch was perfect for our family get together. Walking distance to restaurants, Jiggershop ice cream parlor, ice skating rink and the beautiful Mt Gretna Lake, Thank you Lily!
We loved it! So cozy and inviting. The area (campmeeting) is so neat and relaxing. Cathy is a wonderful host. The IDRO cottage is a gem. Definitely recommend.
We loved staying in this lovely historic home while playing in the Hershey Memorial Day Soccer Tournament. It was an easy, pretty drive to all the fields and Hershey Park for a day of fun. The Mt. Gretna neighborhood is beautiful and friendly with lots to do. The house was comfortable and cozy. The weather was surprisingly cold, so we were happy to have lots of extra blankets available so we could still enjoy the lovely porch. Cathy was a wonderful host. We'd definitely stay again in the future!
Lovely cottage with a perfect porch which is partially screened. Everything you could need for a stay was available except food. Centrally located to all Mount Gretna activities. The porch looks out on a lovely neighborhood park. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay..
This is our second stay in Idro. Love the updates of the exterior / porch painting and making some of the rooms brighter with white. Owners are very responsive. Well stocked, one of the best porches in Gretna (with an enclosed section)!
What a great property , we enjoyed sitting on the porch and walking around mnt Gretna .our hostess was extremely friendly and organized . We found the mnt Gretna hideaway restaurant just a short walk away and enjoyed meals there .
The home was beautiful and in a prime location. We loved it. So cozy, quiet, relaxing and it had everything we could possibly need. I loved the screened in porch to get away from mosquitos and then the air conditioning units upstairs were perfect for the night to cool off. Plenty of linens and dishware. Glad to see so much vintage character still in the home.
TBH I never made it to Gretna. Property owners treated me very kindly. When the first part of my reason for staying there was cancelled they even allowed me to modify my reservation.
I will get there eventually!
Our family really needed a get away after my wife had recently finished chemotherapy. IDRO and Mount Gretna provided the quality family time we needed.
IDRO a wonderful cabin that is very well maintained, well stocked with a beautiful wrap around porch that is partially screened in. It had plenty of space for our family of four and a really nice blend of rusticity and modern features.
Sisters and owners, Cathy and Robin, did a great job of making us feel welcome. The same is true for Mount Gretna and its residents. We especially enjoyed evening walks around the community and meeting residents.
We had a great time and hope to return soon.

This property was rustic and full of history. The host was gracious and took the time to stop in and share history with the family. Check in was easy, once we figured out street setup. Didn’t help that we didn’t arrive in daylight hours so our fault, not theirs. Everything you could need was included. Wi-Fi was good. LOVED the large front porch. There are some lovely little restaurants. We especially enjoyed trivia night at The Hideaway and breakfast at Porch and Pantry. Although this wasn’t an issue for us, I would say if you have anybody with mobility issues this place would be challenging. We hope to return when our schedule permits.
The cottage and the town of Mt. Gretna holds such tranquility and beauty. This property was perfect for our group of 40's and up. We enjoyed making and eating breakfast on the porth each morning and ending the evening on a rocking chair on the same porch. The house is perfectly equipped to cook, relax and savor the majestic oak trees. This is the type of place to unwind and reconnect with mother nature. Unfortunately, our trip was cut short by a family member passing but our hosts were very understanding of our situation and were in communication with us and even refunded part of our stay which was very much appreciated.
Mt. Gretna is known as a spiritual campsite and based how kind and gracious the people of that town treated my family as we got the worst news of our lives; I'm eternally grateful that we were in such a soulful place in our time of great sorrow.
What a lovely cottage in an idyllic place.
This was our second time at Idro and we will definitely be back! Idro is old school, a little rustic, but completely perfect and has everything you need. It feels like home and tonight as I was putting my 12 year old to bed he said "I miss our hammock at Idro." The porch is amazing - a dining table for 4 people, 5 rocking chairs, a hammock and a porch swing. The perfect place to spend a summer day or evening. Cathy is a great communicator - always responsive. We love staying here!
The owners with the Carney were very easy to work with. The house is charming and we really enjoyed all of the card games we played on the porch. Since most of us were seniors the stairs were a little difficult at times
Quiet, everything I was looking for. The house has everything you need other than food to make your week complete. The rocking chairs on the porch are the best!!!
Always a treat to stay here. The weather was cool enough to enjoy the hammock. House is well stocked with everything you may need or even forget. Very comfortable, clean and cozy.
Excellent cottage. The cottage had anything we needed.
Easy to deal with the owner. The location allowed us to hike, mountain bike, walk the streets of Mount Gretna, eat at the Hideaway and on the wonderful cottage porch!
