Our family had a wonderful stay at the Beach Barn. The location was perfect for exploring the area and all of the amenities were well thought out and well-equipped. The host was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely recommend this rental and plan to stay again. Thank you for a lovely trip and stunning views!
We stayed to attend a family reunion nearby and had the best time, the home has kayaks, a fully stocked kitchen, amazing views of the water and the quiet pier has a marketplace with any little things you may have forgotten (and of course ice cream for the kids). We highly recommend staying here!
Such a fun and relaxing stay. The inlet had a ton of seals and they were so fun to watch! There isn’t a lot of stuff in town but Belfair is just down the road with more options!
Loved the location, the house, kitchen was fully supplied with all needed bowls, pans, & spoons. Bedrooms were great, extra blankets, outdoor patio & dinning was awesome.
Family stayed here for the motorcycle races in Shelton. The house exceeded expectations of what we expected. Looking forward to staying here again next year.
I don’t even know where to begin. We had such a great time at the Beach Barn. It was one of the best places we have ever rented from Vrbo. It was so cozy and the amenities were not lacking anything. The place was tiptop and right on the water. We had small family reunion and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Excellent host !
All I can say is what a beautiful home and location to spend a week with my family. The property has everything one can need. I can tell the host has put thought into this lovely home. It’s cozy yet spacious. Wonderful place to just sit admire the water and the seal who visits. The whole family truly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back in the future.
Beautifully decorated home with a great layout for our two family groups (one upstairs w teens, one downstairs w baby). Nothing dangerous for my under 2yo niece and plenty of room for everyone. Owner was excellent with prompt follow-up to questions and the home has all the needed amenities. Great stay, thank you!
We rented this house for our group to stay at for a wedding held next door. This house had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the long weekend. Beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked with anything we would need to use for cooking etc. and plenty of space for our card playing.
Looking forward to coming back
Return visit - just as good as the first. Excellent!
Very clean, tastefully decorated fitting for the picturesque waterside location. Diane is very helpful and communicates clearly.
Definitely coming back.
Great host. Everything you could need. Kayaks, life vests, cornhole, barbecue, etc. We were there on the busy holiday weekend and still peaceful and quiet. Boat launch would be super convenient but we didn't have a boat and it is not loud at all. Just pop kayaks in from front steps. Great, well stocked kitchen. Clearly a loved place.
We stayed here for 3 nights and it snowed the entire time! It was so relaxing to chill out next to the fire and watch the snow fall. The place was clean and well equipped with everything we needed to hide away for a few night. We already have plans to bring our nephews when covid conditions improve.
Arrival instructions were very easy to follow. The house was beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen was completely stocked with supplied with everything needed. Only objection, would of enjoyed a tv in downstairs bedroom.
The Beach Barn was very clean, extremely comfortable, and way above our expectations. We grew up visiting Grapeview (our grandparents had a piece of property with a couple of cabins on the water), so we were thrilled when our cousin chose Grapeview as the destination for her wedding. Everything you could possibly need is available in the kitchen, the bedding is top of the line and super comfortable, there is a washer and dryer, and three kayaks you can launch right in front of the Beach Barn. It was fabulous and we would love to stay again!
I made this reservation for two of my Firefighter staff. The area does not have a lot of hotel options and this place was reasonably priced which made it an easy choice to book. My Firefighter said he would give this place "all 5 stars", he was very pleased! Although I was not there personally, I have no doubt it was wonderful due to the positive feedback from staff!

Perfect getaway home!
Home is beautifully decorated with every amenity you’d need. We loved the private beach with clams & oysters. It is so quiet and peaceful. Don’t let the launch ramp concern you - there is very little noise and very friendly people. It is a bit of a jaunt to get in to Seattle but the ferry ride out of Bremerton is easy to maneuver and gorgeous scenery. Going in the fall was cool but so very quiet. We loved it.
Wow!! I can honestly say this was probably the nicest VRBO we’ve stayed in. The owners go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. The decor is also very nice and flows wonderfully through the house. We enjoyed the mornings drinking coffee and sitting on the patio with the outdoor heater on and a blanket watching the marina.
Seals swim by and eagles fly over.
We have family near by so we will definitely stay here again!!!

It was a very appreciated peaceful respite for our group. There are not a lot of dining or grocery options locally. But the kitchen is very well equipped for cooking with quality pans and easy to cook in, and there is a grill.
The house is both comfortable and luxurious, and very well cared for. We wanted for nothing. Would highly recommend and hope to return.
This property is special, with a well-stocked kitchen, gas fireplace and wonderful amenities. The weather was dry on NYE so we were able to have a campfire and s'mores with the kids after sunset overlooking the water. The covered deck with heat lamp made for some cozy outdoor chats. And the beds were super comfortable. We were able to enjoy some jigsaw puzzles plus watch the Sugar Bowl game from the comfort of the living room. Thank you, Diane and Mark! We'll be back.
The house was fantastic. Location is beautiful, all necessary items were in house and in good condition. A great place to stay.

About the host
Hosted by Diane Carter
Mark and Diane are Seattle natives and high school sweethearts who love sharing their vacation homes with guests. The Beach Barn was purchased in Aug 2017 and lovingly remodeled with comfort and relaxation in mind. We started in the vacation rental business in 2008 with a property on Puget Sound in Shelton, WA (VRBO#150033) that is now run by Diane's sister. Next we purchased a condo in Anaheim, CA (VRBO#329422) across the street from Disneyland that has been a successful vacation rental since 2010. Our most recent rental is near Palm Springs CA in Indian Wells (VRBO 9496387ha). In 2015 we purchased a fixer upper in Renton, WA which we remodeled and is our cozy primary residence near family. Real estate is our passion and we can't wait to have you as our guest.
Why they chose this property
We have been searching for years for the perfect Puget Sound getaway and fell in love with the location and setting of this home. Allyn, WA is a quaint beach side town 5 minutes away from our place. The property is low bank salt waterfront, bulkhead with 7 stairs, so access to the water and the beach filled with clams and oysters is a breeze. Adjacent to the property is the Port of Grapeview boat launch and the Fair Harbor Marina. The water in front of our home is somewhat protected as it faces east toward Treasure Island, a small island in Case Inlet. It's about a 1-hour paddle around Treasure Island. The waters in front of our property are a "no wake" zone so any motorboats or jet ski's will be travelling slowly and quietly which is such a nice bonus. The home was built in 1964 and was nicely maintained but with original decor. The layout was great, so we just updated everything and embraced the gambrel roof (barn shaped roof), added some barn like features and The Beach Barn was born!
What makes this property unique
The home features 2 huge decks, 1 is covered, and a fairly flat grass lawn all facing the water. We love outdoor living so this home felt like the perfect fit for us. The home is removed from major highways so very limited traffic noise. The adjacent boat launch is an added bonus in our opinion. We have met so many nice people and it can be very entertaining to watch.
