This small cabin overlooks the Canoochee River in Claxton, Georgia. It is the place to reconnect with your family and nature without the distractions of work. The cabin is for couples, solo adventurers and families. The river is great for kayaking, swimming and fishing. Near Statesboro, Georgia and 50 miles from Savannah.
Great fishing! Games, hammock, badminton, and DVDs movies are available for your use. Kayaks, small inflatable rafts, and tubes are available for guest to use. Closest store/gas station is 10 minutes away. Closest Walmart is 25 miles away (Statesboro, GA). Wifi: Skyroam hotspot. Do not depend on this for work or school deadlines. 1 GB is given upon check in. Extra can be purchased from the host. The access roads are not "county maintained". You will travel down 1.5 miles of dirt roads. However, my compact car handles it well. You will find it worth the bumpy ride! Your vehicle will be dusty on a dry day and muddy on a rainy day. You will not escape with a clean vehicle. Due to the continual upkeep of the property grounds, guest may see host sometime during their visit. The cabin is located on the river in the woods. Other than the possibility of other guest in nearby cabins, one would feel they finally found the secluded place they needed. It is most possible during some times of the year, one will not see or hear anyone other than themselves and nature. There is the small community of Claxton, GA a few miles up the road. This city has everything one may need. There is a grocery store, several Dollar Stores, several fast food restaurants and many gas stations. Savannah, GA, a favorite tourist spot, is only an hour away. Statesboro, GA, the home of Georgia Southern University, is 30 minutes away There is no public transportation. No pets due to allergies. No firearms or smoking inside. Water has a strong "sulfur" content. Many guest bring their own drinking water. The river is unpredictable. If it rises to the point of limit access, you will be contacted and given full refund. Winter months are currently unavailable. Upon request, the host will release winter dates. This is located in a remote area. It will be just you and nature! This is a narrow river with stumps, therefore, only a "small" boat with a trolling motor can be used. This is also sometimes limited. This river is not adequate for jet ski, motor boat, etc. Also, in late summer the river is so low, kayaking becomes more work than pleasure. A total of 4 cabins and one yurt are owned by Kimberly. These are located in various locations along the river.
Provided bath linens are one set per guest (one bath towel and one wash cloth). Cleaning fee has not been charged/transferred to guest. Therefore, guest are expected to leave the cabin as received. It is a simple life. Guest whom are looking for the "resort" experience will be disappointed. White glove and high maintenance guest will not be satisfied.

In town doing volunteer construction work. Enjoyed the Duke's Lake Cabin very much. Kim provided very good directions and sums up everything well in her property summary. Would not hesitate to stay here again!
Everything was wonderful from the Thunderstorms to the sandybeach on the creek! I have already told other friends about your cabins on the creek!
I am looking forward to my next visit!
We absolutely loved the property and Ms. Duke was such a lovely woman. The kayaks were a favorite with the little one. We liked it so much we told our family and friends so they can look into them as well.

Thank you for visiting! We love sharing our place for people to enjoy making memories! We appreciate you telling your family and friends about our cabins and yurt. Thank you for taking great care of the cabin. I look forward you coming in the future!
This is our second time renting this cabin and we just couldn't be happier. I can't think of a better way to unplug than here by the creek with the fishing poles and kayaks. The cabin was clean and the Creek was flowing... can't get better than that.
From the drive to the cabin to the experiences of the nature around it, Kimberly’s cabin is a much needed experience to those who need to detach from the outside world for a few days. It’s better than what most fancy hotels have to offer. It feels more like home. I am definitely hoping to come back someday in the future.

Thank you for coming and leaving everything in great condition. Please share this with your friends and family!
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend. We had a very relaxing stay, just what we were looking for! Also, caught a few fish. This place is well stocked with all your daily essentials. The view of the river is beautiful. The property owner is very responsive and helpful. We hope to visit this cabin again or check out another property from this same owner in the future soon(:
We really enjoyed this little creek house and will probably try and stay there again someday. I would recommend a new mattress in the bedroom as it is older and reminds us of our grandmas, very soft and springy. This is a full mattress and not a queen but this was no problem for us. Well stocked with ktichen utensils and the antenna tv picked up several stations. We also brought along several DVD's as the TV does have a DVD player. Great trip and very relaxing staying next to the creek.
Literally right on the river. Cabin is wayyyyy back in the woods on a dirt road (some parts are pretty bumpy). The cabin is so incredibly cozy. We fished, sat on the back deck and read for hours, grilled steaks on the grill and cooked breakfast in the well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable bed. Even Miss Kimberly surprised us with a quick visit just to check if we had everything we need. We couldn't figure out the TV and she came in and fixed the problem for us. Be aware, though, that there is another cabin extremely close by. If there are people there at the same time, you will lose pretty much all of your outside peace, quiet and privacy. We were lucky enough that no one next door at the same time. Didn't want to leave. I can't remember the last time I felt so relaxed.
We expected it to be rustic but a little junkier than we thought. The inside space was nice and appliances and supplies were great. There just was a lot of junk outside the cabin under the building old grills and stuff that seems like they could’ve been discarded and it would look a lot better. And lots of tree work being done with the downed trees all around so not sure what’s going on with that.
Pictures accurately reflect how the cabin looks. Getting to the property was rough with my little hybrid. Dealt with bugs (cockroaches?? - not sure don't live with them).
: Have off the grid expectations
: Kayaking was very fun going up and down the continuous flowing river 🎣🚣
: Lakehouse has A smart TV 📺 so viewing downloaded content on you connected phone 📱was great or you'd have to buy dvd's /VHS 📼
: A/C was great in living area and 🛏 bedroom
: fridge was nice and worked great
: I left two fishing 🎣 poles & lures for next guest enjoyment
:Ms Kimberly was a very nice and friendly lady. i definitely see myself staying at another one of her properties
: i also did all store runs and shopping 🛒 on a motorcycle (touring) 🏍 so if i can get back and forth safely and it rained for majority of my stay there should be 0 reason you haven't already booked your off the grid(📶 🚫) stay with ms Kimberly.
you get signal at bottom of the stairs closest to the river/body of water

Thank you for visiting! Also, thank you for donating the fishing poles. The cabin is in a relaxing remote area with all the modern conveniences. I hope to see you in the future!
We bought this property to use as a get away for our family. We soon decided to give others the opportunity to enjoy it. We find in serene and breath taking.
