About this property

Vacation Lodge with Mountain Character

Welcome to North View Lodge!

North View Lodge is a vacation lodge with loads of mountain character and fun amenities in a central location convenient to all the High Country offers. This home offers various options for relaxing, congregating, dining, and sleeping for groups of all types. The owners have lovingly and thoughtfully set this house up to maximize comfort, usage flexibility, and year-round fun for guests of all ages. We are thrilled to offer North View to our guests.

Located just a few minutes from downtown Banner Elk, the lodge sits between Sugar and Beech Mountain Ski Resorts, about ten miles to either one. Grandfather Mountain is also about ten miles away. The property is convenient to Boone, Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad, Hawksnest, Linville Falls and Caverns, Valle Crucis, and everything you want to do or see in the NC High Country.

The property surrounding the driveway and parking area is all wooded, private, and available to walk and explore. The driveway leads through a wooded approach to a generous gravel parking area. The lodge has an expansive deck wrapping around the rear and view sides. The front door leads into a generous entry foyer where you can shed wet winter jackets and boots or take off muddy clothes.

To one side of the foyer is a master suite with a king-size bed, an HDTV, a BluRay player, and an ensuite bathroom. A nearby second bedroom has a queen-size bed and a full hallway bathroom. The kitchen is open to the dining and living areas and offers granite countertops, stainless appliances, and beautiful hickory hardwood floors. The dining table is impressive and can seat 12 to 14 guests. The living room has a central wood-burning fireplace, a large screen HDTV, and upscale leather furniture. Glass French doors open to the rear deck from the dining and living areas. Enjoy the view in handmade, custom furniture constructed from live-edge wood and wine casks.

On the other side of the foyer is a big family room with a window wall. Large comfy sofas, a round game table for chess, checkers, cards, and an HDTV with a BluRay player furnish the room. A long, impressive L-shaped, English tavern-style bar with granite countertops and wood finishes has a refrigerator, microwave, convection oven, dishwasher, and coffee bar. Off the family room is the hot tub room. The two exterior walls have paneled sliding glass pocket doors that disappear, allowing guests to open the hot tub room to the outdoors. Accessible from the hot tub room and the family room is a unique tiled bathroom with a shower, changing room, 8-person sauna, and steam room. Outside the hot tub room, the deck has built-in benches, a long outdoor dining table, a gas grill, and an outdoor stone gas log fireplace.

Upstairs is the game room with an 8-foot slate pool table and dartboard, a comfy reading chair flanked with built-in shelves stocked with books and games, a half bath/powder room, and a daybed with a trundle. The first upstairs bedroom suite has a king bed, a custom built-in desk, and a private full bathroom with a custom tile shower. The second upstairs suite has a California king bed, a vaulted tongue-and-groove ceiling, and a nice window framing the view. It has a walk-in closet and a private bathroom with a double granite vanity and an oversized tile shower. Off the game room is an open-style bedroom with a twin-over-twin solid wood bunk bed and a twin daybed with a trundle bed.

The movie theater room, warm and intimate with vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings and plush carpet, features a 120-inch HD projector screen with digital cable programming, a BluRay player, and an Xbox One. The theater room has numerous reclining chairs and a long crafting desk ideal for children to express creativity.

The lodge and its offerings are unique and offer an opportunity for families and friends to experience a unique and fun-filled High Country mountain vacation.
