About this property

Two Bedroom cottage - Family owned/operated since 1923

Our cottages are clean and well kept. Situated on 3 acres, surrounded by forever wild state land. We offer free wi-fi, cable, fire pits, and grills. Conveniently located between Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. Come see why our guests return year after year ! Open May - October. Sorry, no pets.

The space:
Cottage #3 has queen beds in the 2 bedrooms and a full size sofa bed. It also has a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Both bathrooms have stand up showers. Sleeps up to 5 people.

We are a family business that takes pride in our property. We keep our cabins CLEAN and well maintained. We are only 5 minutes in either direction from Lake Placid and Saranac lake. We are right off highway 86 but our property is quiet and peaceful.

Guest access:
We have free Wifi spread throughout the property. There are gas and charcola grills, Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, fire pits , and horseshoes all free for our guests to use. We sell firewood on the property as well. Parking is plentiful and free. There is a gas station within walking distance that carries groceries, sandwiches, beer, ice , etc.

We are always available or reachable to answer our guest's questions or address any concerns.

History of the Property:
Moreno's cottages was founded by Tessie and Tony Moreno in1923. Uncle Tony built this property by hand over the years and Aunt Tessie ran the business with discipline and hard work. The Drake family, with 2 parents and 4 teenage children, is the newest owner of this historic vacation destination. Todd & Leigh work constantly to make changes or additions to the property to make our guests' stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

A Nice Getaway

We had a nice stay at Moreno's Cottages. The listing was accurate and the place was cozy. We had a camper van, so we used some of our own items to augment the stay, but overall we had a great weekend. Thank you.

Comfortable Cabin

The location is set nicely between Saranac Lake and Lake Placid making either just a 10 minute drive. The property itself it well kept and peaceful. The Cabin has everything you would need. Couldnt have asked for a smoother quiet comfortable location.

Cabin between Saranac Lake and Lake Placid

These cabins are just as described. We were there for the IronMan Lake Placid event. The location was great and Joyce was very helpful with anything we needed. The only challenge we had was that the wifi was spotty at times. The convenience store right near by was very helpful too.

Just great!

Smell of pines is refreshing. Cabins just as pictured. Location-right between Lake Placid and Lake Saranac/Regis. Could easily get to the ADK high peaks for hiking. The hospitality of owners was 5 star! Has all the basics, and really it is all you need. Felt very true to the old Adirondack spirit. (And this comes from a Guesthouse/VRBO host!) Thanks Dave and Bethany!

Nice Clean Cabin

We had 4 adults staying here for Ironman Lake Placid. 4 adults maxed out the space for sure. It is very small but clean and nice. A short drive to town. Wifi was spotty, Loved the firepit in the evenings. Check in was a little confusing as the management company did not have my correct email - said it was a system problem. It all worked out fine and we enjoyed our stay.

Thanks again for staying with us. Yes we have a transition of ownership this year and we did not always get all of the accurate information. There doesn't appear to have been any harm since you were put directly into your cabin when you contacted us. Wi-Fi in the Adirondack park has very limited infrastructure and sometimes experiences miniature outages. The week that this guest stayed it happened three or four different times and is nothing that we can do as a business owner to control we are beholden to the utility provider. Just a note for readers, our cabins are in fact advertised as four person appropriate- they are two bedroom two bath and they also have a living area and kitchen and a porch area. They are not overly small, but are really designed for four people as advertised. If you'd like to have a fifth person that is possible, but as always, if you are going to use a sofa sleeper it will take up additional space in the living room. Cheers, Todd and Leigh

Great cottage, wonderful hosts!

The cottage was very clean, very comfortable. Had all we needed as far as kitchen amenities.The yard area was clean and inviting, great for campfires. Our hosts, Dave & Bethany, couldn't have been more accommodating, very friendly, offering hiking and dining ideas. There's a great convenience store right around corner and within 10 minutes walk great brewery!
