Panoramic Ocean Views and Tropical Breezes

Colina de Brisas (Hill of Breezes), is located on a hill above the town of Isabel Segunda on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico. Vieques is a separate island from the main island of Puerto Rico that is accessible by ferry or plane.

This beautiful vacation house overlooks the Fort of Vieques (El Fortin Conde de Mirasol) with sweeping, panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, Puerto Rico and the island of Culebra.

The property sits on almost an acre of land with plenty of tropical fruits, trees and plants. There is a flat area on the East side of the property where you will find aloe plants, coconut, calabash (gourd) and grapefruit trees. On the West side of the property you will find more tropical plants, mango trees, and hidden away hammocks for relaxing in the shade. Feel free to pick some mangoes to go with your meal or just relax in one of the hammocks.

The living room has a TV with a DVD/VCR player. There is a library of movies for you to choose from as well as books and games to enjoy when you return in the evening. There is WiFi available.

Each room in the house has a ceiling fan to take full advantage of the tropical hillside breezes.

Colina de Brisas has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths and sleeps up to 7 people. The master bedroom has a king size bed and full private bath. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the third bedroom has both a full size and twin bed.

There is a large kitchen fully equipped with a stove and range, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and needed kitchenware. Make yourself at home and try your hand at cooking a real Puerto Rican dinner from one of the cookbooks.

Come and enjoy the verandah, especially in the evenings, and let the trade winds carry away all your worries. Tables and seating allow you to sit and enjoy the view of the fort at night or watch the late ferry arrive from Puerto Rico. Enjoy a meal on the verandah or on the patio while you barbeque your meal. Listen to all of the nightlife and see if you can hear the “co-qui” frogs.

Wonderful stay

The house was perfect. It is stocked with toys and books that my young children enjoyed. It has beach chairs, toys, snorkel gear. Kitchen is well stocked. Close drive to multiple beaches.

Great views. Great space and everything works! Easy to get pretty much any/every where. The 5 of us had a very enjoyable, stress-free stay here. The owner and property manager were very responsive and helpful.

Awesome house

Great property sits above tree canopies. Awesome views of the surrounding areas all the way to the sea. Owner provided everything needed for a excellent beach outing( chairs, coolers, towels, and even some snorkeling gear).

Excellent property with full kitchen

We are family of 7 - 3 kids and 4 adults and this property owner is super friendly and provides you with car. This property is accessible to all the convenience shopping and shops. We have enjoyed our stay there for 3 days, shower water pressure need to be improved other than that this is 5 star with lot of memories

What a wonderful experience staying at Colina de Brisas. The house was plenty equipped for our stay. Upon our arrival, being greeted by wild horses in the marquesina. To the ample kitchen for entertaining and enjoying the daily sunsets over the plentiful onsite fruit trees. Or the very close proximity to everything in Isabela II…the house was lovely and exactly what we needed. My family and I had an amazing time and the accommodations made it convenient and comfortable. Thank you for having us. We enjoyed every moment and hope to be back soon. We recommend this house greatly!

We had a great week at th...

We had a great week at this house. We chose it over others that were perhaps fancier because it seemed to be a fantastically well-run rental and we were right. We set off the alarm when we entered (our fault) and the owner was right on the phone to help. We also locked our things in the safe as we were about to catch our plane (again, our fault: her instructions suggest taking things out the night before you leave so this doesn't happen) and the owner was able to help us right away. We also emailed her with a few house-related questions during the week and she responded quickly. We have rented a lot of vacation homes and never had such communication with the owner. The house is clean, it does indeed have fantastic breezes, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is equipped. The driveway is cartoonishly steep but our rental SUV had no problem. It was great for kids: there were plenty of books and toys and beach toys for them to play with. There was a crib and a high-chair waiting for us. We walked to town, to the fort, and to the colmado down the way for ice cream in the afternoons. There are lots of roosters of course, starting at 3:30 am. But the upside of getting up at 6 every morning was that we were on the beach (secret beach was our favorite with little kids: sit over on the left end so the kids can snorkel in two- feet deep water) by 8:30 am so our days weren't too taxing for our sleep-deprived state. Nothing a medalla couldn't cure!

Great Place, Great Time

Seven of us stayed over for a period of nine days. House was great, Lots of room to hang out and relax in a lush setting. Host was extremely helpful and super easy to communicate with. We will definitely try to return.

Great stay near Isabelle Ii

We had a great stay at Colina de Brisas. The house is very large and well equipped. The ceiling fans keep the main areas cool, and the air conditioners in each room keep them comfortable at night. The balcony offers great views of Isabelle II and the port. The driveway is very steep, so older people will need a vehicle to enter and leave the property. Overall, a nice place to stay on Vieques.

Wonderful experience

This property was recommended to me by my brother who stayed a few years ago. We had a wonderful time! The house was very comfortable and clean. There is AC but we never had a need for it. There are tons of windows and cool breezes. The house is nicely decorated, easy to come and go on our day trips, and has a beautiful porch to spend our evenings on. There is a couple of nice bakeries and a market within walking distance. I honestly cannot recommnd the house enough. I would love to go back!

We loved our stay here. Roomy, well equipped house. Super convenient having SUV available, made arrival and departure seamless. Driveway is very steep which prevented two of our group unable to come and go without vehicle, and low water pressure. Positives of this accommodation far outweigh the negatives. We stayed 3 nights and cannot wait to return to this house for a longer stay! Highly recommend.

The house on the hill was fabulous. Spacious and clean. The local fauna(local cats, horses and iguanas) were fun to have around. The kitchen was well appointed and there were many dvd movies to watch if you want on a slow night.

Wonderful!

We enjoyed the house and car immensely! The car was especially handy and we’re grateful we could rent it. There were no fresh mangos in the trees or hammocks on the property, but horses stopped by. And huge iguanas, which made it all the more special.

Colina de Brisas is a beautiful house that is perfect for families. The view is beautiful. There is plenty of space. The house had everything we needed for a great trip. I loved how peaceful it was! We would love to stay there again one day.

The unit worked well for our family with three tween to teenage daughters. There were plenty of towels, chairs, and other supplies, including an umbrella and toys, for the beach The drive to beaches was about 12-15 minutes. The house was a short walk into town. Renee was helpful with the check-in process and she quickly responded to all inquiries.

Great family house.

House is really nice for a family vacation. We really enjoyed it. The house was really clean and beds were comfy. Loved the view and the feeling of being surrounded by trees. Loved all the animal visitors. So fun to have iguanas, horses, roosters and cats in the yard. Such a fun experience. Close to the fort. Can walk to get fresh delicious fresh bread in the morning. We all loved the house.

We vacationed on Vieques in 2004 and fell in love with the laid back, simple island that is Vieques. The virtually empty, white sand beaches combined with the undeveloped island (no traffic lights or WalMart!) made us dream of owning a second home here. Our dream became a reality the very next year and we have vacationed here every year since! We are blessed to have a little piece of this paradise.

Why they chose this property

We feel in love with the views - while it's not close to the ocean, there is very limited true oceanfront property available, we preferred the quiet hillside location which provides panoramic ocean views, cooling tropical breezes and beautiful sunsets.
