About this property
Alaskan Log Cabin
Welcome to my Alaskan Log Cabin that is cozy, clean, and private.
Located at the end of a quiet subdivision on a large private lot.
About the cabin. The logs were harvested in Haines, Alaska and trucked up to Valdez, Alaska where Serendipity Log Works hand peeled and scribed these logs into what I wanted.
Enjoy the hand crafted all traditional mortise and tenon joinery stairs made by Precision Timberworks here in Seward.
Filled with live plants and artwork.
Enjoy the outside fire pit with your family and friends. Cook your days catch on the BBQ and enjoy a large kitchen to make your memories and meals.
Soak in a claw foot tub, (circa early 1900's) the bracket was made by local Artist James Minden who used salvaged metal from the 1964 Great Alaskan Earthquake. Or enjoy the tile walk in shower with pebble floor.
Construction was completed in the fall of 2016. After this it took almost two years to do the finish work and the fine detail work of sanding and staining logs, adding art and handpicking furniture to make this house as comfortable, cozy, warm and welcoming as possible.

Frequently asked questions
About the host
Hosted by Julie
Born and raised in Alaska. I started working on commercial fishing and tug boats when I was 16 and received my USCG Captains license when I was 21. After many years at sea I began to start missing land and purchased the property when I was 30 and called Seward home.
Why they chose this property
The Lost Lake Subdivision is a quiet small subdivision. Out of the flood zone and high enough to be tsunami safe. Most of the subdivision including my lot is on bedrock so we don’t feel the earthquakes.
What makes this property unique
What makes my property unique is this is my personal home, I only rent it out during the summer months and I live in it the rest of the months. During the off season I am always upgrading the inside or improving the outside garden.
This property is an extension of me and who I am. The cabin has been decorated from my experiences in life and I try very hard to create and not purchase what everyone else has in their homes.
Staying here you'll enjoy a unique, clean, cozy, private, and beautiful cabin.
