Welcome to Ocean Reef 702 in Gulf Shores!

COMPLEX & POOL RENOVATED!! The decking at the pool was replaced, new paint, siding and roofs for complex a few years ago.

Ocean Reef is in a prime location in Gulf Shores on West Beach. Easy walking distance to the center of town! New Tap to Connect Wifi block on kitchen counter for easy, assured wifi login!

702 is an updated, spacious, 3-story gulf front vacation town house accommodating up to 8-10 guests. NEWLY added SMART TVs too! New 55 inch UHD SMART TV in Living Room, and a 50 inch UHD SMART TV wall mounted in loft bedroom. Now see NETFLIX, HULU, Amazon Prime, etc with your own account! The kitchen was completely remodeled in 2018. The kitchen has been completely renovated; new cabinets, appliances, gorgeous counters, and backsplash! New Washer/Dryer recently installed; new USB charging clocks in each bedroom too (July'2024)

3BR/3.5BA beach front home has 2 balconies, one on the main level and the second off of the master bedroom, both overlooking the beach and gulf. Staircase from the deck leads down to the white sand beach. Bedrooms 1 & 2 are on the second floor and Bedroom 3 is the 3rd floor loft.

The thermostat allows cooling to a minimum of 70 degrees; heating to 74, system disable w balcony door open > 5min.. Tampering with system is a guest charge.

The master bedroom includes a recently upgraded king mattress for ultimate comfort and relaxation.

Remodeled 3rd floor features full bath, recently replaced mattresses and flat screen TV! Oscillating fan available too, as loft levels can warm in summer season. This fully equipped home has D/W, W/D, 4 TVs/2DVD/2 VCRs, icemaker and all appliances. Parking for 2 cars (covered)- Permit required ($32/vehicle); Parking pass(es) will be purchased on-site at the guard shack, which is located in front of the pool, after 4pm CT. The parking pass must be purchased with cash only. BBQ area next to gorgeous pool.

The location was perfect literally right on the beach. Back deck that lead directly to white sand. Rooms each had own bathroom for everyone to have privacy and everytjing worked well!!!

Don’t get me wrong it was perfect location and accommodated my entire family. The unit needs some maintenance though. Rain cam in back door during storm, hand rails on balcony out front are in bad shape, couch is wore out bad. Some cracks was noticeable in ceiling. But again it accommodated my family. Just informing yall that it needs some TLC

Great location

We love this property due to the lower density and easy access to the beach. However this particular unit desperately could use new beds. The property has a nice pool but since it's not heated it was too cold to use in late March.

Great value

This is what you want from a rental. Bring some supplies but they basically have everything you need except groceries and Walmart is like a 5min drive. The location is perfectly walkable to a lot of tourist locations and the beach view is awesome. They may need a second dumpster.

On the Gulf

The best part was it was right on the Gulf which was awesome! Location was perfect! The furniture was absolutely horrible, very uncomfortable and old. Both the pit group and the pull out couch need to be replaced. The bed in the master was comfortable. The place overall appeared clean but could use a deep cleaning. All light fixtures in the kitchen/dining area were filthy. I cleaned those myself. The door leaked air so much we had to place plastic bags around it to keep the wind from blowing in. All the windows need to be replaced. We were there for 2 months and overall, it was good.

Needs work!

Location and kitchen were great. Rest of property not so much. Carpet needs replacing asap. There was cheese stuck to the ceiling in the loft. The loft is also at least 10 degrees warmer than rest of condo. There wasn’t a remote in living room so had to use one from loft tv. They said they were bringing one by and never did. You also share the deck with 2 other condos which was kinda awkward. Although I did love the location I don’t think I’d stay here again.

Please know, as we discussed, we did deliver the remote and handed it to a young gentleman and placed the loft remote back upstairs. Please ask him. The balcony in front of 702 is for 702 guests only, there are no dividers on the deck, though. We've asked housekeeping to check the ceiling and we reached out to you to ask for more details on the carpet and suggestions on what you'd like to see. Ruined the vacation mood

Checked in at 4:30 pm. Walked in to uncleaned house, took them till 11:30 at night to have house cleaned while we had to stay in car with two kids waiting. But even after cleanup we found small bug on bed, ceiling on third floor and laundry area had mold and plaster on ceiling in living room was coming down. We did get compensated by having our cleaning fee returned but i would never stay there again unless major changes happened

Fantastic location and great beach!

This property is in the perfect location in Gulf Shores! The deck is a great place to sip your morning coffee with a great view of the ocean. Our family loved having the white sugar sand just down the steps of our deck with the shoreline steps away. The beach was wide with lots of places to put our beach umbrella and chairs that we brought from home. We walked to local restaurants, ice cream places, and coffee shops, which was extremely convenient! The Hangout is a fun restaurant, and it was a half mile walk from this property.There is a keypad on the front door with a combination, which enabled us to check in at the door and the lock it at check out time. We did not have to go to a rental office to retrieve a key as other reviews have said.My husband and I stayed with our 2 teenage boys, and we all fit well into the 3 bedrooms. The top bedroom has 2 beds as listed, so one more person would have fit comfortably into the bedrooms.We enjoyed the updated kitchen, and it had everything we needed to prepare meals.This is an older property, but we appreciate the renovations that have been done. We would recommend this place to our friends, family, and anyone looking for a good place to stay in Gulf Shores!

Property needs updating.

The couch in living room was stained and would not stay together. The pictures did not reflect that. The mattress may be new but it was not very good. IT already had a worn spot that you rolled into when you got into bed. The countertops may be updated but that is it. The dining room chairs were broke. The linen was visibly stained. I am sorry for the review because it could be a nice place to stay but it needs attention.

A few years ago, the owners renovated the entire townhome, new vanities in all bathrooms and added a 3rd bathroom in the third floor loft. They are continually updating. We have the sofa scheduled to be cleaned next Monday. Ocean Reef townhomes offer a low density complex, walking distance to town and are super popular! Will start with issues we encountered: Several of were uncomfortable, had to kill several silverfish, there was a roach and what appeared to be mouse droppings in vanity in first floor vanity, one small round table and one chair on back patio, had to run to Wal Mart to get containers and mixing bowls because kitchen was not updated as advertised, loose light fixtures, broken boards on patio railing, not enough parking (it is a three bedroom and sleeps 10 so thought there would be room to park three vehicles), paid over 5300 for the week but was charged 30 for each vehicle.Good things: great location, beverage store and Alvin’s souvenir shop right across the street, short walk to restaurants, short walk to beach, large town house, TV in each bedroom, 3 1/2 bathrooms, easy check in and check out, small grill on patio, wash location to rinse off when coming off beach, plenty of seating in living room.Conclusion: family had a great time and would definitely come back if the issues I stated were corrected. A man did come by in middle of the week to spay for bugs but we had just left the beach and it was hectic with people taking showers and changing clothes so we told him it was not a good time, he left and did not return. To the owners: Thank you for sharing your townhouse with my family, we had a great week, and will rent again if issues I stated are corrected.

That said, we were surprised to read about several concerns, as nothing was reported during your stay. We would’ve been happy to address each of them right away and potentially turn your 3-star experience into a 5-star stay—if we’d known. The kitchen was completely remodeled, so we're not sure what you were referring to as "not updated." If there were specific items missing or needed, we could’ve easily delivered them. The townhome also has a balcony table and four chairs, so if any were missing or misplaced, a quick message would’ve allowed us to fix that for you. As for the decking, that’s managed by the HOA, but again—had we known—it’s something we could’ve reported to them during your trip. Regarding parking, the $30 per vehicle fee (up to 2 vehicles) is clearly stated in the listing details as well as in your pre-arrival and check-in emails. We understand you brought a third vehicle, which goes beyond what's allowed, but parking is not included in the rent. We also appreciate you pointing out the unannounced pest control visit—that service is supposed to be scheduled with advance notice, and we’ll be addressing that with the vendor to make sure it doesn’t happen again. We truly appreciate your note to the owner, and we hope to have the chance to welcome your family back under improved circumstances. We always encourage guests to communicate with us during their trip—we're here to help and want every guest to have the best experience possible.

Really wonderful spot

I stayed here with my wife and 2 boys (ages 2 and 4) and couldn't have had a better time. Being right on the beach was fantastic, especially for our kids who often didn't want to be out there for more than 30 minutes at a time. It made it really easy to come and go. The space itself is wonderful: a well stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture, great sleeping quarters with a wonderful ocean view from the master bedroom, and easy walking to a number of shops and restaurants. The only issue we had was that the dishwasher didn't work; there apparently was supposed to be a new one installed just before we arrived and when we first arrived it was already running, however, would not work for us throughout the remainder of our stay. I did contact the manager, who offered to have it fixed right away, but we honestly didn't mind as we didn't make a lot of dishes and just washed them by hand. We didn't use the pool or laundry, so can't speak to that, but the rest of the place and our whole stay in general was marvelous. Definitely will book here again!

We were not disappointed with this condo. The location was great and we used the pool every day. Being able to walk right out the door onto the sand was amazing and just what we wanted. I wish the window in the third floor bedroom opened so we could hear the waves, but thats the only thing that could have made it better. Loved the whole stay!

Being beach front was nice

Being beach front this year was a nice change. Unit isn’t the nicest or worst we’ve stayed at in Ocean Reef but we enjoyed being beach front even if there was no table to use on the deck & every other beach front unit had one. Kitchen is tiny so if you prepare meals as a family as we do be prepared for tight confines. Other complaint is that the Refrigerator door didn't stay shut and was constantly popping open. If you’re looking for an ocean dent gathering place to primarily sleep and eat this unit works and is reasonably priced. Personally I will avoid renting through GulfSands Rentals in the future. A couple hours before check in we were notified that the washer and dryer in the unit were not working and would not be repaired during our stay & that they did not have parking passes for us as in the agreement. I did receive a refund for the parking passes and a small refund for not having the washer and dryer but it didn’t make up for the inconvenience. Did not like my experience with Gulfsands Rentals and would caution others.

Great place, poor customer service

This is the 4th time staying in a beachfront townhome at Ocean Reef. I will never book this unit again if it is managed by Gulf Sands. Their customer service in the booking and planning process was terrible, and in this day and age, there is no reason we have to drive to the office to p/u and deliver the key.

Property is in need of repairs

Exposed nails and jagged drywall on back door. Back screen completely ripped out. Paint on upper and lower deck badly peeling. Exposed nails in floor of doorway on 3rd floor. Kitchen faucet leaked on to counter when in use.

Fantastic location

Was pleased with the property but had no idea it was a triplex shared with other units. If it were busy season, I would’ve been highly disappointed not knowing this. Also property appeared to been rented during cosmetic repairs with old carpet and construction materials placed under beds.
