Welcome to the fortress 🏡
**We are following the Guidelines & General Recommendations for Cleaning and Disinfecting our Household put out by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Newly remodeled in 2014. Half mile from Belton Lake & 2 local boat launches. You will be one hour North of Austin and 45 min South of Waco. The house is perfect for family reunions, a nice relaxing vacation or a fun family Texas getaway. Great location for families looking to explore Waco's Magnolia attractions, Downtown Austin, Downtown Belton & the tasty Bbq attractions, historic town of Salado & their wonderful Wineries & Breweries or any of the beautiful surrounding lakes and rivers Central Texas has to offer.
Our home has 2 outdoor patios for seating and grilling and a 3rd patio area for relaxing on the hammocks with a fire pit. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs with a full bath (Queen room, bunkbed room with twin & full, and a 3rd room with 2 large couches). Master bedroom is located on the first floor with a nice jet tub and stand up shower and a walk in closet.
Downstairs has 2 massive couches for guests to sleep on and a TV with a surround sound entertainment system. There are 2 automatic blow up queen air mattresses for extra guests.

Garage parking is available for a small boat or car upon request. There is ample parking for 2 large pull behind, or two trucks with boats in the drive and 2 boats on the road
Driveway fits about 6 small cars, plus plenty of parking on the street for 3-4 cars. Our development has a tennis court and quiet streets for biking and walking. There are a couple camp grounds within a couple miles and plenty of fishing on Lake Belton.

Nearby Attractions~
There is a great restaurant that overlooks Lake Belton about 2 minutes away and a new Burrito Bar with a full bar 1/4 mile away. Bold Republic Brewery and Scores Pizza are our 2 favorites. There are plenty of dining options within 1-3 miles going toward downtown Belton, Salado and Temple. You are also 25 min from FT. Hood Army Base & Scott & White Hospitals in Temple & Harker Heights.

The perfect spot

This is the cleanest VRBO we’ve ever stayed in. It was well appointed with linens and towels. The neighborhood was quiet, and the location was convenient. Owners were extremely responsive and reasonable. We would stay again!

We had our family Thanksgiving here as it was a central location from all over Texas. Derek was very responsive and helpful when trying to figure out what we needed to make our Thanksgiving a success and enjoyable. Very nice house, nicely decorated and in a very nice area. Great to get out and walk around the neighboorhood. The backyard is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the weather. Also, pet friendly!! Thanks again for a great stay!

Enjoyed our stay!

The house was clean and comfortable and had lots of fun board games and nice televisions/electronics. We especially enjoyed the table with the wall of windows overlooking the big back yard for eating and playing games since we were there in July and it was hot during the day. The owner was pleasant to work with and the house was convenient to the lake, local parks and lots of great restaurants with delivery and take out services. The H-E-B Plus about a mile away was also very nice and convenient. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Perfect Fit

We were in town for a sporting event at the Expo. Our fellow family had a 2 year old so the crib, toys, baby monitor etc were all a perfect fit and saved them from having to travel with port a crib. The skee ball, darts and outside patio area were favorites of our younger guests and there was plenty of space to have the rest of the team over for a meal after the event. I utilize vrbo a few times a year and this host and property were as good as any I have stayed in. The few minor things that came up were a text away and the reply was super fast. If we attend this event again next year I will definitely look for this listing.

Nice property

Oven takes FOREVER to heat and only got to 350. Lots of cobwebs too. Never could get the TV to work following the instructions. Kind of weird to have to strip our own beds when paying for a rental. Overall not a bad experience though.

Electric was disconnected

Our second nighttime electric had been disconnected when we arrived at the property. The neighbors all had electric. We had to contact owner, they paid there bill and electric was back on at 11 PM. It was quite an inconvenience. We were at an event all day and were exhausted to come back snd find no electrictric at the property.

Clean

House was not clean. I have multiple pictures with date stamps if someone wants to challenge my assessment. Hire professionals to clean. Spend money on hand soap and dish soap (not a watered down version). Make sure the recycle makes it to the curb before the next renters show.

Very nice property

I would recommend this VRBO for anyone with a large group as there was plenty of room for my family. Overall the property was nice. Some maintenance needs to be done, but it wasn't anything that stopped us from enjoying our stay.

We checked out after one night due to uncleanliness which the owner admitted he had a replacement cleaning crew. When we texted problems with the house as requested in the owners book, the owner did not apologize he said we could check out. We did check out because we found a roach in the coffee maker, no wash clothes, damp towels in a cabinet, exposed wires, broken bulbs, dirty fish and turtle tanks, and no top sheet on the master bed. The master shower stall wax dirty and we were tired of fixing things. To unplug the patio lights I was directed to a location in the garage, but there was no working light in the garage, where I found exposed wires. I requested a refund from the owner for the three days after we checked out, but I haven’t heard from the owner! Please help me get a reasonable refund for this terrible first VRBO experience!

Folksy failure

Dirty dishes. Sticky door knobs. Full trash cans. Odor from turtle tank. Poor appliances. No internet. No TV. Rude management, except they are so proud of their “oasis” they refunded our stay minus the first day, but kept all the cleaning deposit - hopefully they put it to use before marketing this place again.

Cute house

Cute little property in Belton. Very cozy and spacious. Stayed with our family of four and grandma and grandpa. Upstairs was perfect for us and grandparents had downstairs master bedroom. Kids loved the backyard space and the hammocks were comfy. Thanks again!!

I am originally from New England, migrated to Texas from California a few years ago after grad school. My other half is from Dallas area and came down this way a couple years ago to settle with me. I am a prior Military Service Member, prior consultant for the military and recently started my own business and she is a registered Dental Hygienist and a wonderful mom of a 9 year old boy and we have a brand new baby girl as of last year.

Why they chose this property

This property is very relaxing and has a ton of character with great energy. We love our home and are opening it up to anyone that needs a nice getaway or a spacious home to hold a family reunion or wedding. We have lots of room and tons of yard in the front and back for relaxing and events. We love the area of Belton and the unique character of the town. Lots to do close by and Austin, Georgetwon and Roundrock are only 35-60 min drive away.

What makes this property unique

We love the view from the dining room area into the deep backyard looking into the woods. Tons of beautiful birds and hummingbirds that come up to the large windows to feed. We have made lots of small touches to the home to make it warm, cozy, rustic and welcoming to everyone. The energy in the home is wonderful and were always doing little things to make it more like home :) Come stay with us anytime!
