Home was roomy and comfortable. House needs some TLC. It is not handicap accessible. It was convenient for what we needed. We would stay again if some updates were made to the home. There is a pull out bed in one of the love seats in the living room, we discovered by accident, this was not in the original listing, and it is comfortable. Bring blankets as well as sheets and pillow cases.
Located in downtown Detour, it is within walking distance to restaurants, stores, the state marina, the boat launch, the ferry to Drummond Island and many other attractions.
The property was suitable for what we are doing on our 4-day stay.
There is no towels, pillowcases, you must bring your own and we did not see to last minute.
If you book in the summer the Upper Floor does NOT have AC.But there is fans.
Bedrooms are large and has 2 bathrooms.
This home is our "up north" cottage. We also have a small resort called the Alpine Motel. It is located in Branch Twp, in the lower peninsula of Michigan. That is where we live. We originally bought the DeTour house because I started coming up to catch whitefish and fell in love with the area. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Why they chose this property
I wanted a nice place of my own to stay while on my fishing trips. I noticed this house was for sale one day when I was driving by, called the realtor and the rest is history.
What makes this property unique
I like that I can walk to everything in town, yet have a nice view of the water.
