Our family of 6 (4 sons - 15, 12, 8, & 6) and 2 dogs had a nice relaxing week. The property is quiet and perfect for exploring. Kids found frogs, crawfish, and went fishing right out front. The house layout is perfect for a family. Amazing views, especially if you bring a boat or kayaks. Great quiet roads for morning or evening walks with the dogs. Neighbors all around the bay are super friendly. Do bring water shoes and either a truck or ATV for fossil ledges. Big Shoal beach is sandy and beautiful. Glen cove is remote for a day swimming. We plan to return.

Cozy cabin in great location

Cabin was great for our family...loved the 2 bathrooms, the dock to relax by the water, and the screened in porch. The location was perfect...close to Four Corners and the ferry.

We had an amazing time at Tache’s Retreat. The house accommodated our kids, two spouses, and a grandson well. It was so comfortable with most everything you need. And the spot on the beach was beautiful and perfect. We were so grateful to be able to stay here, and Rick was so responsive and helpful.

Charter boat getaway

A Lovely Place to Stay on Drummond

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very spacious with a well appointed kitchen. Location was excellent and sitting on the dock talking and laughing was a so much fun. And, of course, the 4 wheeling around Drummond Island was awesome!

The grandkids had such a great time exploring and skipping rocks along the shore line! The sunsets couldn’t have been more beautiful. The cabin was spacious, well equipped with essentials and nicely decorated to give it that “up north” feel. Rick was very helpful, suggesting restaurants and areas of interest that the grandkids would likely enjoy.

Peaceful Solitude

A perfect getaway from the bustle of busy city life. Gorgeous sunsets/moonrises and quiet peaceful lounging by the lake. Setting out early in the morning for deer viewing was a favorite activity.

I built Island Retreat in 2000 with the help of a very accomplished local contractor. I enjoy being there whenever possible. I live with my daughters in Traverse City, Mi., about three hours from Drummond. I am an Ann Arbor native, a big sports fan and nature lover.
