We had a great time. The experience was so much fun. It almost felt like we were treasure hunting a bit when we found all these little nooks and crannies to experience. The house was absolutely beautiful, the view was perfect to watch the sunrise. The spa was one of my most favorite features. Communication was very professional and friendly. We thank you for trusting us with your home.
One of the most stunning, best designed and most considerate to the guest properties I’ve stayed at! The views are wonderful, the kitchen well stocked (great for foodies!), and the grotto a really special experience! We can’t wait to come back and we JUST left!
This was our second stay and we plan to be back again! Communication with the host was excellent, they are very responsive. Everything in the house was spotlessly clean.
The kitchen had every amenity we needed to cook meals all weekend, but there are also lots of great restaurants within 10-12 minutes drive. Beautiful backyard with tons of seating, firepit perfect for s'mores, and an incredible pool with unique cave spa that we all enjoyed..
We loved this house! From the moment you park your car and step out, you see gorgeous views from the top of the hill over to the mountains. Then you walk towards the house and pass the beautiful pool, with its rock formations and the very cool (in the good way) and secluded spa. There are multiple spaces for outdoor gathering and eating, with clean and well maintained outdoor furniture. Inside the house there is a spacious kitchen, large dining room, and upstairs a comfy and modern family room with tv. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms are amazing, with stone covered showers. There is even a hideaway at the top - the views cannot be beat. The hosts have thought of everything, and they are so kind and generous. Book this house, you will not regret it!
We stayed here while visiting Oakland for a friend's wedding. The Treehouse does not disappoint! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The views are incredible, the house is extremely well appointed, and the pool and cave spa are great for cooling down midday or warming up in the evening. Most importantly, Josie went the extra mile to make sure we knew how to find nearly anything, made the house rules clear, and she was lightning quick to respond whenever we needed to reach out.
The only downsides? The ample natural light can make it hard to sleep in after sunrise and will make the upstairs pretty toasty during the afternoon, and the road is easy for new drivers to miss (for rideshare or delivery needs). Small issues heavily outweighed by all of the great things about the property.
We hope to find ourselves back again soon!
From start to finish, our stay at this beautiful property was nothing short of a dream! First off, Josie was an incredible host and very easy to communicate with not only leading up to our stay, but also during, if I had any questions while we were there. The Property is high on the hill and you can see Mount Diablo and other gorgeous views. The home was incredibly clean and cozy. Amenities galore! Lots of entertaining space, every appliance you could ever want, and so many kitchen supplies. and everything is labeled! We found everything we needed so easily. Every bed was super cozy, and there were lots of blankets, which was a nice touch for this chilly winter. The ambience was on point! I didn’t realize how cool the hot tub was gonna be! It’s literally in an underground cave and I felt like I was in a cenote in Mexico.I’m already at thinking about another opportunity to rent this home in the summertime so we can use the beautiful pool, although I did do a morning cold plunge, which was quite exhilarating.Josie is by far the best host I’ve ever rented from and I highly recommend her property if you’re looking for a cozy getaway with a large group. Thanks again!
Spectacular home and experience. Highly recommended.
This was one of the better homes we've stayed in and we've stayed in quite a few over the last decade. It had incredible views, the beds were so comfortable, and it was extremely well-appointed. They thought of everything. There are even spices in the cabinets! In addition, Josie was very communicative and surprised us by sending over 2 bottles of wine when there was a minor issue with the water heater. (A very nice touch.) I can't recommend this home enough. I would definitely stay here again.
Our group of 6 friends were in the SF area for a week to see the sights and attend the US Open at Pebble Beach. This home was in the perfect location to get to all of the things we did. The house is beautiful with all of the amenities you could ask for. We enjoyed the gorgeous pool and spa on a few occasions to relax after a day of touring. The owner, Josie, was very attentive to all of our needs and gave us great recommendations for restaurants in and around the SF area as well as local eateries in Lafayette. I would definitely recommend this home if you're visiting the area!
The Tree House was marvelous, and we were sad to leave. My kids (in their 20's) felt that it was the best house we had rented yet! It had exceptional views, was full of fun features and beautifully decorated. A great place to relax after a big day of sightseeing!

the architecture is of the 1980s and I have always loved that architecture so it felt like I was in
Everyone in the house who went into the spa / hot tub area were amazed with that the kitchen was also amazing providing plenty of cooking space for our feast for Arthur 80th birthday we had a bagpipe person come and because of the structure of the living room being open so high the bagpipe didn't blow us out of the house even though he brought us a house bagpipe that was just sweet having the fireplace burning and the bagpipe player playing Celtic songs that make my husband so happy how wonderful everything just worked out perfectly and Josie arranged for us to have an extra table for our Christmas feast so we were able to seat 14 people around the table and that was also so wonderful because I cannot do stairs I never saw the second and floor and the little hideout which was loved by my 14 year old granddaughter when she was surrounded by everyone else who was at least 40 or over but as the holiday went on I got more and more exhausted and even though it says it's not suitable for a wheelchair accessibility maybe not on the outside but once you get the wheelchair on the inside to go back and forth the long house hallways the floors are even and smooth I had no problem pushing my own wheelchair loved loved loved the place

More than amazing!
Stayed in other rentals, non nearly as awesome as the views from outside deck or any room as there as so many windows! Cave, pool, lagoon spa were highlights in addition to modern kitchen, warm decor, comfy beds. Truly a special place we plan to visit again. Our family will remember forever. Owners were very accommodating too. This home will be booked a lot so we will have to make plans way in advance to nail it! Worth it!!! Thank you for providing us such an easy way of being together. 5 stars for sure!

Beautiful property! Inside and outside.
It was a lovely house for the family. Truly beautiful rooms and view. There were 10 of us and there was plenty of places to gather for group, and private discussions. Nice big kitchen as well. The house really sleeps 8, and would have supported 8 perfectly. 10 was stretching the capacity for bathroom use and hot water use. We were grateful to find a place that we could all stay together for my son's graduation.

About the host
Hosted by Josie Spence
We love to spend time creating wonderful memories with friends and family. We love hosting our home for others to enjoy, and our goal is to provide the perfect environment for others to do the same.
Why they chose this property
The hills east of north of Deerhill rd. have huge, sprawling oak trees and have amazing views, especially from our property. Where our home is located is an amazingly peaceful neighborhood. There is also a wonderful hiking trail accessible from our property. The trail leads up to the top of the Brione's hills and from there you can walk for miles and get some of the best views of the East Bay area valley.
What makes this property unique
Incredible panoramic views of Mt. Diablo and surrounding valley/hills. Custom designed house with fun, unique architecture. One of a kind cave spa you will never forget. Access directly from property to the Briones Park hiking trail which provides an incredible view of layfayette valley/corridor.
