From the moment you drive into the driveway and see the renowned artist Jim Sudal Welcome Sign, you know you have arrived at a very special place. Scottsdale Sanctuary is an 1,100+ square foot luxurious one-bedroom, one-full bath and one powder room living space steps away from a refreshing pool and peaceful pond. It is one of two houses available for lease on the property. The owners occupy the main house. The quiet residential area and complete obscurity from the street gives you a tranquil environment for your vacation or business retreat.

The spacious living room sports a large Henredon sofa giving audience to a Sony 52" wall mounted TV. There is plenty of seating for yourself or guests with two additional chairs and ottoman. Walls are adorned with original art primarily from local artists. Even the four side tables are hand-made: two are hand-made glass tiles tables and two are hand-made ceramic tables. The living room also sports a wet bar with two built-in wine chillers. For those of you looking for a convenient area to work or set up your computer, there is a desk with supplies (including a printer) discreetly to the side. For convenience, the powder room is directly off the living room. Scottsdale Sanctuary's full kitchen has all the kitchen prerequisites: full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher with upgraded cabinetry and quartz counters along with a huge pantry. We challenge you to find a utensil or tool that is not in the kitchen! If you can't find what you are looking for, simply call the owners (on property) and they will do everything possible to get it to you shortly. The bedroom proudly hosts a king-sized bed with the softest sheets and bedding we have found and a Westin Heavenly Sleep pillow top mattress. It is furnished with beautifully crafted mahogany furniture, more original art, a TV and a Bose radio. The walk-in closet is massive, having more than enough room for all the clothing you brought with room for a chair and another mahogany bureau filled with music, movies and games. The expansive master bath has a very large shower and custom vanity with double sinks. The laundry facilities (with LG washer and dryer) and another huge storage closet complete the room. Storage space abounds in this house.

You will have your own garage bay which is steps away from the kitchen which makes it very convenient to unload luggage, grocery bags, etc. There is also a utility sink in the garage for your use.

The outdoor space is truly a little slice of paradise. There are so many interesting sights featuring object's d'art and many rock features including a petroglyph rock and fountain all framed by beautiful landscaping ranging from desert plants to a lush, tropical feel with palm trees all surrounding the shared pool. The pool has a large shelf with chairs and an umbrella if you feel like lounging in the water. Just beyond the pool is the small pond with soothing waterfall. It’s a perfect spot for yoga and meditation. You can choose to lounge on the two lounge chairs, sip coffee at the cafe chairs and tables directly off the poolside door or dine from your bistro table by the pool. There is an additional outdoor seating area with an over-sized love seat and two chairs great for reading, sipping coffee, or watching the hummingbirds feed.

Additional outdoor features include a private custom barbecue and fire pit, both with direct gas which eliminates the possibility of running out of fuel while in the middle of cooking or while enjoying a glass of wine by the fire pit! Nothing beats sitting around the fire pit sipping a glass of wine or having a cocktail on a cool, desert evening. On the other side of the pond, you will find an orchard with over twenty fruit trees ranging from pomelos, grapefruits (pink and white), oranges (naval and juice oranges), tangerines, limes, lemons (Meyers & Lisbon) and pomegranates. In season, you are welcomed to help yourself to as much as you would like.

Because of the tranquil nature of the neighborhood and property, there is a quiet time between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. If your plans include guests or outdoor entertainment within those hours, we suggest you look at another property. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful environment, you have found your spot!

Two bicycles are available for your exclusive use while you are staying with us. The canal, which is just a couple of minutes ride away, provides endless paths for you to explore our great city and its fine parks and golf courses. Scottsdale boasts a very impressive connection of pathways and green belts for bicycle riding.

Interested in turtles and tortoises? There are three fenced environments on the property: one with a 150-pound African sulcata tortoise, one with rescued box turtles and the last with rescued desert tortoises (indigenous to Arizona). All three of these environments are located discreetly to the side of the property, or in the front, so if this is not your cup of tea, you will not even know they are here. This house is also home to dogs. If you are not a dog-person, we will keep them out of your way. If you enjoy them, they will offer you a dog-fix while you are away from home. Numerous hummingbird feeders are placed around the property. Arizona hosts the largest variety of hummingbirds in the United States, so you will have many opportunities to see different varieties and enjoy their antics as they feed, protect their 'personal' feeders and bathe/drink from the fountains.

Our Central Scottsdale location and proximity to the 101 Freeway makes this location unbeatable. No matter why you are here, or what you are doing, you are only as easy walk or drive away. We are within walking distance of an AJ's and Trader Joe's, numerous restaurants, two major banks, pharmacies and boutique shopping. You can be at Salt River Fields (home of the Rockies and Diamondbacks) within a 5-minute drive.
