Cabin in the woods
It was nice. A little dark for me. Sits in the pines. Very well equipped.
We had a great time staying at "Glen's cabin." It has charm. The owner has made some great updates. The new blinds and screens in the living room make this property even better. It was cool enough with the breeze from the lake that we didn't need the air conditioner! The owner has a nice area to pay tribute to his friend, Glen, who lived in the cabin at one time. Thank you for sharing your cabin by the lake with us! (Watching the black/ gray squirrels was entertaining and relaxing, too!) The addition of Internet was great for those of us who still use a flip phone but one to be in touch with other family members.
Glen (and I) loved to feed those big black and gray squirrels living the good life in those big oak trees surrounding the house. He always kept a small garbage bag of corn at least and often burlap bags full of walnuts or butternuts that folks brought him from downstate. Thanks for noticing the new windows, door and blinds in the back. I hope to do the other porch this fall. Thanks so much for coming! Greg
Would stay again! Enjoyed !!!
Thanks Sherry! I'm happy you had fun! Greg
The place was perfect for our family. There was plenty of room and the location was great. The boat was not usable because a branch had fallen on it! (No fault of the owner) I would recommend it.....
Thanks Carol. Sorry about the boat. I just replaced it with a 17' Old Town canoe.
Good place to stay
Great place to stay for a fishing weekend. Lots of room and not far from the peer and the lake. Cozy place to sleep and will definitely be back again
Tawas Lake is a large all-sports lake with a mostly undeveloped shoreline. Enjoy great fishing, waterfowl viewing/hunting, or just adventuring out in my rowboat. The boat can be left on the beach right across the street from the house in a rarely used right-of-way. Larger boats can be launched and beached at the nearby public boat ramp. Wild rice still grows on some of Tawas Lake – this is definitely a special place compared to many overused northern lakes because of its beauty, natural character, and abundance of fish and wildlife. You or the kids can swim or wade across the street or at a nearby city owned vacant waterfront lot (very shallow andsandy (perfect for little ones), deeper is mucky and weedy), but the best swimming is only a mile away at the great East Tawas waterfront park. The park has an incredible long and wide sandy beach with a huge dock where you can take a long walk, fish, or just view all the docked yachts.
