About this property

Private Studio with easy beach access! (Perfect place to shelter)

Come and stay for a month or a couple of days! Our newly constructed private contemporary studio is across the street from the beach with a small living area, room for dining, kitchen and comfortable sleeping space. It is a perfect place to shelter in as it completely separate and private just for you!

It has vaulted ceilings with an open feel. In the living room it has a sofa sleeper and seating around the 55 inch flat-screen television and gas burning fireplace.

The kitchen, with its beautiful granite counters, is open to both the dining area and living room. It has custom cabinetry, and stainless steel appliances.

The bedroom is furnished with a brand new California King bed. You also have access to the owners hot tub and roof deck with a gas fire pit where you can relax and view the ocean and at times see whales and dolphins!

The property is nicely landscaped from curb to fence lines. The studio has a private access. There is a small patio table to enjoy the morning sun and your own small gas barbecue.

Our home is a licensed Morro Bay vacation rental.

This is an opportunity to get away, yet feel right at home next to the sand and ocean!

Relaxing Weekend

Absolutely beautiful

Bill and Marlene’s cozy stay was perfect for our weekend getaway! We loved being so close to the beach and really appreciated all the care that our hosts put into the space. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Morro Bay!

Beautiful beach getaway

Beautiful property. Very quiet neighborhood. The place is very clean and even though attached to the main house provides a lot of privacy. The view from the roof top deck are amazing. Host is very kind and available if needed. Loved our stay. Would definitely stay again!

Awesome Stay

The hosts are extremely helpful and easy to deal with. The unit is modern, well equipped and in a great location (one block from the beach). The photos don’t do it justice. We have stayed in over a dozen VRBO/AirB&B properties and this one was by far the best. 5 stars all the way.

Remarkable and expert design. Perfect place for 2 who like to cook and relax a block from the beach. Just a few steps to a beautiful morning beach stroll. Gardens are stunning and property is immaculate.

They Thought of Everything

We cannot have been more pleased. Bill and Marlene thought of everything- the kitchen was well equipped, plenty of wonderful fluffy towels and a cozy fireplace that warmed the entire house. The location was amazing- the beach was less than a block away where we could see tide pools and amazing sunsets. We enjoyed dining at Dorns and Giavanni’s. Bought fresh fish from Dockside market and cooked New Year’s dinner. We cannot wait to come back!

Hidden Gem on Morro Strand

Fabulous! Just like the photos, even better. Clean, modern, quiet, great amenities. Loved the shower, full kitchen, comfy king bed, and beautiful garden space . Bill was great, very kind, friendly, and made us feel comfortable. Went to the beach Morro Strand) every day, less than 1 minute/2 houses to the sandy trail to the beach. Great views of Morro Rock. Roof deck, cocktails at sunset, fabulous! Great adventures driving Hwy 1 to Big Sur, kayaking, beach hiking, fresh fish dinners. A great place for a couple and we will be back! S & J

Beautiful studio, uncomfortable bed

This studio apartment is beautiful, well designed, well appointed, with tasteful top of the line finishes, soft towels, and has everything you need for a wonderful getaway. Except a comfortable bed. The king size is great, but the mattress itself is too firm, sags deeply on each side, and the bed creaks loudly when you move. Having clearly made such a large investment in the construction of this place, and done a superb job, why would they not invest in a high quality comfortable mattress? A true Head scratcher. The other issue with this place is that you have to walk through the yard of the main house, where other guests stay. Very awkward. It would be great if the owners could figure out a way to make the entrance private. Owners are responsive and fixed the WiFi quickly when we had an issue. Despite the bed and awkward entrance we had a nice stay and give four stars.

Wonderful!!!

Marlene's studio rental is our new favorite place to stay in Morro Bay. The care and attention that went into creating this wonderful space is worth 10 stars! The studio is much bigger than we expected. The bed is comfortable with all the right adjustable lighting for reading or ambiance. The closet has space for hanging clothes as well as shelving. The appliances are top notch. There is a gas fireplace which completely warms the space up. And there is good WiFi and a large TV with movie channels. There is a compact stacking washer and dryer ,which is so convenient when staying for a couple of weeks. The kitchen is well stocked with useful gadgets and Marlene provides coffee and 1/2 and 1/2, a nice bottle of local wine, a water purifier pitcher and a gallon of good bottled water plus a variety of refreshing drinks. There is a great little weber propane grill and bistro table and chairs on the studio's private patio. The beautiful enclosed yard is landscaped with mature succulents and well placed solar night lights. The hot tub is dreamy. We soaked in it every night. There is a super nice observation deck for sunsets and the beach is right there. There is a short path just steps from the studio which takes you to the beach. Great walking beach either direction. A great view of Morro Rock. Marlene is a good communicator. She answered all our questions. This little studio is a gem! We will be back sooner than later.

Perfect location and wonderful guest house

Everything about this property worked perfectly for us. Cleanliness is so important to me, and this place was so clean that it made me feel right at home. The location was perfect. We enjoyed time on the beach that was super close. We loved the town of Morro Bay. Such a quiet, peaceful town. Bed was comfy, we had plenty of towels, and everything else we could possibly need. We would definitely stay again! Thank you for hosting us!!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on our way up to San Francisco and we could not have picked a better spot. As soon as you arrive you know this host is a pro. She thought of everything we could need and more. We loved this property so much, it was a great location, beautiful guest house and handy amenities. Being able to use the bikes and hot tub were so appreciated. We were so comfortable here and wished we had stayed longer. We will definitely be back if we get the chance! Perfect Spot for Two

This spot is great for couples with a cozy bed, fire place, large shower and well stocked kitchen. It was perfectly maintained, private and had everything we needed. Check in/out was very simple and stress free. With easy access from the main highway and close proximity to many surrounding areas the studio is ideal. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely Stay

Property was just as described. Appreciated the many little touches to make our stay more comfortable, including some basic food items like butter and condiments. Cookware was just what we heeded too. My only suggestion would be to provide the manual or basic instructions on using the washer and dryer. We figured it out with the help of the internet, and they worked just fine. Bed was comfortable and the off street parking spot was great! Also really loved being able to walk to the beach. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Charming Bungalow by the Sea

Modern, cozy studio steps from the ocean. Such a beautiful place. Studio was well appointed and comfy with a fireplace and hot tub. It was in a great location, near the ocean, close to The Rock and for getting around, in general. We enjoyed hiking, biking, sightseeing and watching the cute Sea Otters in the bay, Elephant Seals on the beach, Cambria and wine tours in Paso Roble. Marlene was a wonderful host. There was a bottle of wine and gourmet coffee waiting for us upon our arrival. She let us use her bikes and was very responsive to any questions we had. The only thing we would do differently is stayed longer! We look forward to going back, again.

Great stay!

Perfect stay for a small family. The studio and yard are decorated beautifully and the balcony over the garage gives you the best view of the beach. Will definitely plan to visit again :).

Marlene and I are both retired and have three boys with two living overseas. The third lives in Seattle, Washington. We really enjoy traveling to visit them. We like to meet your guests to make sure they are comfortable in our home before we leave Morro Bay.

What makes this property unique

Morro Bay is a great place for many outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, kayaking and surfing. Our beach is perfect for walking or running too! Afterwards take a short drive to town for a drink or dinner at one of the many restaurants along the water. One of our favorites if it is a nice sunny afternoon is Dockside on the embarcadero for barbecued oysters!
