Lancaster co. farmhouse in the heart of amish country

This country home is nestled in the heart of Amish Country in beautiful Southern lancaster county, Pennsylvania. The property is located in a farm setting on a quiet country road, excellent for walking/biking through some of lancaster county's most beautiful farmland. We are located within 20 minutes of most major area attractions, outlets,Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park, Sight and Sound Theatre. One hour from Hershey Pennsylvania. and Philadelphia.
10 min drive from here is wolfs hollow park great for hiking and walking, and moccasin Run golf course.

Our 1800's home features a fully stocked kitchen, living room, and dining room with small kitchette. The larger of its two bedrooms has two queen-sized beds. The smaller has a king size bed. we also have a futon available. We provide the linens and towels. 3 bathrooms one with clawfoot tub, the other 2 have showers.

For a quiet country getaway Miriam's Guest House is a great retreat for your family or small group. Enjoy relaxing on the front porch swing, playground for the kids, grill out on the patio, evenings enjoy sitting around the campfire. In the winter months and cool evenings enjoy cozying up to the wood burning fireplace. Feel free to say Hi to the many animals on our farmette, we have a horses, Jenny the friendly donkey that roams the premises at times, sandy, the pony and Ethel our Scottish highlander cow.

Grab your fresh homegrown vegetables and fruits from nearby produce stands and stop by to pick up groceries and bulk foods from our local Amish stores,

we live on the same property, but we give you your space and privacy..

Our stay was perfect! The peacefulness of the location was great. I loved having coffee in the morning on the patio watching the farm animals and hearing the birds chirping. Nights by the fire pit were a nice way to unwind. Our hosts were wonderful!Thank you for sharing this house with us!!

Omar & Mim are exceptional & inviting hosts!! The animals on the property were the icing on the cake!! Very clean and homey feeling house. Would recommend 100%!!! However if you don’t do well with stairs this is not the rental for you.

Thanksgiving Retreat

Wonderful Stay!

We had a wonderful time staying on the property. The home was very cozy and relaxing. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The owners were attentive and available if needed. We enjoyed meeting all of the animals. There are many roadside stands and markets to stop at. I would definitely stay again!!

Family vacation

Amazing place

This is our second time in this lovely home,we absolutely love it here, the house, farm, animals, neighborhood, decor...ect. We can’t say enough about our stay, we took full advantage of the fire place, and the kids love the animals, ( also thank you for letting us use the scooter and little wagon), the owners are always unbelievably friendly and kind. A must stay when going to Lancaster area. We look forward to our next adventure in this lovely farm house.

Great hostest

My family very much enjoyed our visit to Lancaster. Miriam was a wonderful host, we enjoyed meeting both her and her family. The house was very clean with most anything you might need. Very comfortable beds with made for a good nights rest for the next days adventures. We also enjoyed meeting and feeding Ethel the Scottish Highlander cow, Sandy the pony and Jenny the donkey. Miriam was very helpful with sharing her knowledge of the area with suggestions of places to visit, eat and just places to ride and view the beautiful countryside.

Absolute gem!

This beautiful home boasts all kinds of rustic charm. With 2 bedrooms and 3 baths, it is very accommodating for various size groups. Mim keeps everything spotless and so homey. It is tucked away from the hustle and bustle so be prepared to drive to many points of interest but the solitude is well worth it.

Peaceful Paradise

What a lovely property. The house is super adorable and extremely clean. Very nicely stocked and equipped with everything you need. Charm and character radiate throughout and the animals on the property were the icing on the cake for my nieces. The owners were very kind and responsive. We will be back!

Mini Vacation

We had an absolutely lovely and very relaxing time at this property. We rent properties like this everytime we come to Lancaster and this one was the most nostalgic. Loved the quiet area, sitting on the porch, and listening to the clippity clop of the horse and buggies going down the back country road. Location was perfect. Also enjoyed interacting with the farm animals especially Zoey the Dalmation. The home was clean and comfortable. We did get our exercise as the home does have three levels and the steps are steep. Our hosts Omar and Mim were very accomadating and easy to communicate with about any issues. We would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous property, wonderful owners

My family (2 adults and 1 toddler) and another family (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed here for a weekend getaway and to visit Dutch Wonderland (Oct 2011). What a wonderful time!! The house is gorgeous, lots of space, comfy beds, very very clean. The property is incredible, gorgeous garden in front of the house, friendly animals, pool. The owner was very friendly and made DELICIOUS sweet potato biscuits. We all raved about our experience to everyone back home. Mim was very easy to work with, very friendly, answered all our questions.

Best relaxing vacation

This is not our first time here, we stayed with my kids and my in-laws, this house is just so beautiful and cozy, even my teens found themselves reading books and falling asleep by the fireplace, we all enjoyed the peaceful farm surroundings, took walks around the neighborhood, played and pet all the awesome animals, went to local stores and ate some fresh veggies and Amish made foods, we just feel so comfortable and relax every time we are there, the owners are absolutely lovely and accommodating, truly wonderful people. We feel blessed to be able to have a vacation that is not just a place to sleep but an amazing experience overall. We recommend this place 110%. Thank you, from the Heidingers.

Gods Country

The cottage is immaculate, well stocked, and the surroundings is magical. This setting is in the middle of several Amish and Mennonite communities. All the beautiful farms and animals. We would have never had this experience had we stayed in town. All the cute roadside shops set up with fresh vegetables and even floral arrangements. Mim is a pure delight so kind and accommodating. The apple butter she gave us is amazing. We look forward to another trip to God’s country.

Enjoyable family vacation

We traveled with our 4 kids ranging from 1-8 years old for a family vacation. the property was spacious clean and beautiful. The hostess was super responsive and helpful throughout our stay. They live on the same property but do not intrude at all. The house came with everything we needed for our kids games toys a highchair pack n' play. The kids loved the swingset outside and feeding the farm animals treats. We had a bit of drama with the pets (cat and dog) who were super friendly but some of our kids being real city kids were afraid of them. All of us enjoyed the charm of staying in an original farmhouse from the 19th century the exposed beams etc. but at the same time up to date with a washer dryer central AC and all kitchen appliances we needed. It was convenient to have 3 bathrooms on all 3 floors 2 with showers and with a clawfoot soaking tub. the surrounding area is full of Amish fields which were really interesting to watch as was the Amish grocery 0.5 miles away seeing them going about their life was fascinating. All in all we had a great time and would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful Birthday Stay

I booked this trip with 5 friends impromptu because of the pandemic. I was looking for seclusion with close friends and that’s what I got. The home is absolutely beautiful from the driveway to the house itself. The property manager - Mim - is responsive, kind, and respects the privacy of guest completely — so if you’re like me and you have concerns that the property manger is a house away - don’t be! An added piece are the beautiful animals. They are friendly and just so cute and amazing to wake up too each morning. There is so much I could say but ultimately you have to experience it for yourself; but if you’re looking for a chill location where you can be free of city life and have some peace and quiet to do as you please this is your spot. I’ll definitely return again. Possible Point of Inquiry: Ask if the pool and deck are done. They were under light construction during my stay which was fine for my party...we aren’t the pool type; but if you are you should ask Mim if it’s done before booking. Truthfully, the property is so beautiful you probably won’t spend much time in it anyway.

Excellent host!!! Reached out several times to make sure everything was going great. Only thing I would say is if someone in your party has trouble with stairs this location may not be for you. Both bedrooms are upstairs. We loved the property!!! Very quiet area. Would definitely stay again!!

This location is not a 10 it’s a 12! Cannot say enough good things about it! The photos are exactly how the house looks, perfect. Gorgeous farmhouse on immaculate property in a peaceful setting with amazing local scenery. Visiting the farm animals on the property and the friendly dogs alone were worth it - Zoey the dalmatian coming to visit us every day was a highlight! Hearing horse and buggies going by, cows and horses everywhere and Amish farms close by was truly amazing. I can’t imagine you could get a better Amish experience. You will see more animals and horse and buggies than cars.The property is close enough to local attractions but still away from all the noise! We took in all the local sites as well as Hershey and Philadelphia, both each an hour away. The house has all the modern amenities while still proving an old farmhouse feel. We are a family of four and had plenty of room. We have stayed in many homes through VRBO, and this was by far the best for comfort, cleanliness and charm. It has everything you need, especially in the kitchen. Omar and Mim are wonderful and very welcoming. I enjoyed talking with Omar about the farm. While they live nearby, they generally keep to themselves, unless you need them. They went above and beyond as hosts and their recommendations were very helpful. We did not want to leave. Thank you!
