Coral Reef!!

Great location/staff

Coral Reef Apartments is in a very safe and quiet area of Key Biscayne. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. The building is a little older. Ventilation wasn’t the best in the bathrooms; towels were damp. The pool area was beautiful; very relaxing. Beach access was just ok. Good place to say for the price we paid.

HORRIBLE VRBO listing

We never received information on how to get IN the unit which we had paid in advance for, and all calls went unanswered and no response to requests. We had to book a night at a hotel nearby since we couldn't get in our rental. Terrible experience, do not recommend. ZERO stars.

Nice place to stay, no frills, great location

This was a good value, great location, and clean, but really could benefit from some extra towels in the rental. There was no hand soap in the bathrooms and some of the lighting fixtures did not work. We enjoyed our stay, but this rental could improve their communication about check-in procedures. We had to call a few times to figure out how to get in to our rental, but once that was figured out, it was smooth sailing!

This place does not look like the pictures!! Catfished!

The office was extremely hard to find. Once we found it, the lady working the office was nice. I was taken to the room and it looked nothing like the pictures. She gets on the phone and calls the manager and they take me to a different room that’s a little bit better but again still doesn’t look like the photos. I think they stage and take a picture of their absolute best unit and post photos of that and that’s what you think you are getting.

I booked through vrbo . When I got to hotel they had nothing in their system about my reservation even though I had email receipts from vrbo. They couldn’t accommodate me so I had to look for an entirely new hotel and then fight for a refund

Great location on Key Biscayne

Loved the access to the beach and the space we had in the two bedroom apartment. It was exactly what we needed. Staff was very pleasant and helpful whenever we needed it.

Nice but not as advertised

The property was advertised as a two bedroom and two bath and I received a one bedroom, one bath. It ended up being fine as my guests did not end up staying with me, however, I was still a little disappointed that I booked and paid for one property and received another.

Just needs some TLC

The apartment is in a great location & only a few minutes from the beach. The check in process was easy, we were actuality able to check in a little earlier than 4. However, at first we were given a one bdrm unit instead of the 2 bdrm unit that we reserved. The unit itself was nice & roomy, but had some issues - the shower in the master wouldn't shut off so it was constantly trickling water. The repairs made around the unit looked to be done by an amateur. The blinds let in tons of light, which made sleeping a bit difficult. But with some repairs, some TLC, and some blackout curtains the apartment could be pretty nice.

If you’re looking for luxury, this is not your place. However, if you’re looking for a place to stay that is good with a great location, then Coral Reef Apartments is your place. Our unit was in need of a few basic repairs, but it was sufficient for our needs. It is clean, but very basic. I would stay again.

Overall clean, stiil found some minuscule ants in bathroom. The patio doors were not closing thight unless locked. The kitchen amenities was minimalistic.

Perfect for a family vacay

Immediately upon arrival our host was so helpful and let us check in a couple hours early which was appreciated. The beach was just a short walk away. The space was tidy with plenty of room. The price was great. The only thing that I was a bit disappointed in was that we had no coffee machine in our room, but honestly that was fixed by just picking up some instant so id still give this property a 9/10 highly recommend and would stay again.

Great location. Unit needs attention.

Location can’t be beat. The unit needs some serious attention to detail. Perhaps it is being renovated however some small items would go a long way - shower curtains that span the length of the shower, the refrigerator rattles, two of the stove burners don’t work, tile and paint chips, paint spatter, the furniture is rickety, dings in the wall and paint, and the couch is very uncomfortable. The beds were comfortable and the AC works great.

Host claimed no booking and no room available

Should have known this was a scam. No communication from host - tried both messaging through VRBO and calling the listed number, no response at all. At check in, the office had an open sign on the door, but was closed and there was no answer at the listed contact number on the sign. Finally got a callback from the host saying that VRBO has a system problem and that they did not have my booking even though I provided the booking number. Told me to get a refund from VRBO and didn't care that my family had nowhere to stay. Scrambled to find hotel rooms and ended up having to pay a fortune on short notice. Avoid this place like the plague.

The location was excellent- 10min walk (not 4min, as advertised) to the beach, 10 min walk to Win Dixie grocery store and closest restaurants. Very safe and beautiful area. The property however (unit 203) needs some fixing and updating. Very old appliances, peeling paint, rusty sink in the bathroom, ants in the house, toilet water constantly running in master bathroom, bare minimum when it comes to kitchen utensils. There was not even a good sharp knife, no salt/pepper. It looks much better in the pictures than reality. The property is commercially managed, no one was answering the call when we arrived after hours (around 9pm), the mailbox was full. Overall a good stay, just the property itself needs some attention and love.

Good, not great

Front desk was friendly and helpful, making check-in easy. Room itself was sparse with cheap furniture and outdated kitchen. Our room on the ground floor was pretty dark, even with the lights on. It's loud when people walk by the interior facing windows, there was barely enough silverware, and the bathrooms were cramped. Plus, we weren't expecting the second room to have twin beds because the pictures didn't quite match the unit we actually got (seems like whole building is rental properties managed by the same checkin process on VRBO, so the pictures shown are not all the same unit, so it was tough to say what exactly we were getting). This all would be completely normal and appropriate for a cheaper rental property...but the price was WAY out of line for what we got. Really expensive VRBO for quite mediocre accommodations. I have family on Key Biscayne and understand demand is high during holiday season, but for me, this accommodation wasn't great value. Just a little more work to renovate the rooms might improve this.
