Wonderful beach cottage

Our family enjoyed our stay at this beach cottage immensely. It is right in the middle of the Normandy beaches, convenient for any history buff, and mere steps from the beach, restaurants, and other fun activities. We look forward to coming again!

Normandy/Omaha Beach

Location was perfect to beach, monuments, some local restaurants, ice scream, spirits. We rented a car to visit Mont Saint Michel (another marvel) and Caen for our Normandy 4 hour Tour. Make sure to have toiletries and toilet paper (1 roll was provided) along with fly swatter. Sweet place full of history.

Even more than we could have hoped for!

Location location location! We could not have asked for more! Pay the cleaning fee and the linen rental and don't worry about a thing! Will recommend this cottage to anyone!

Very nice place with a great view

We were a family of 4 and a dog, and we loved to sit at the kitchen table looking out of the big windows with a great view over the beach with the changes in tide. We liked the house very much, and did not need anything that was not present. We also liked the history of the place, which is very present in the house and in the area.

Ein wundervoller Urlaub und eine wundervolle Unterkunft

Wir hatten einen sehr erholsam Urlaub! Die Unterkunft war traumhaft und die Lage und der Blick morgens aus dem Fenster ebenso! Es ist eine ruhig gelegende Region die uns sehr entspannt hat. Geschichtlich hat sie viel zu bieten.... gerade was uns Deutschen sehr wichtig war. Wir können diese Unterkunft und diese Region nur empfehlen.... und .... wir kommen definitiv wieder!!! Huisje is netjes en goed voorzien van apparatuur, het uitzicht is echt schitterend.

Prachtige streek om op vakantie te gaan. Ook vanuit historisch perspectief geweldig. Veel te zien en te bezoeken mbt ww2. Het huisje is direct aan het strand gelegen. Geweldig uitzicht, echt een aanrader.

Beautiful view with no basic amenities

The location is one of the best in the area and the view from the front room are beautiful. I was very surprise to get and email at the last minute asking if we wanted towels and bed sheets and pillow cases. I have been using VRBO for as long as I can remember, and never have towels and sheets been optional. I sent an email that we did want them. We arrived in the late afternoon after driving from Paris to find the sheets and pillow cases folded on top of the beds. This rental reminded me of camping. So, be aware that there will be an extra charge per person for sheets and towels, as well as a cleaning fee, unless you want to clean the place yourself. There are NO amenities. Bring your own shower soap because you will not find one in the place. The blankets we found folded on the top bunk were frayed and looked quite used and not so clean. Morena Chatham

As Morena says : "The location is one of the best in the area and the view from the front room are beautiful". We are sorry to read his dissatisfaction and take note of it to improve our service. Our hosts have the choice of bringing their own bed linen & towels OR renting them for a few euros. The description in VRBO (Home, Home) clearly specifies this "OPTION". The many hosts we have received since 4 years are well understood: about 50% of them subscribe to these options. We recall this option in our confirmation email for guests who would not have subscribed to them at the outset. We are sorry that Morena did not take it into account from the start. Cleaning costs are now included in the estimate. We offer a few amenities for the shower and the daily cleaning of the house. One of the covers was actually torn to 10 cm: we replaced it. We specify that that the cleanliness of the cottage and these equipments is one of the first qualities highlighted in the opinions written by our hosts on the differents rental site. Sehr erholsamer Urlaub für Mensch und Hund!

Der Urlaub in dieser Unterkunft war sehr erholsam. Das Grundstück - mit Parkplatz vor und Terrasse hinter dem Haus - wird nur durch einen Zaun und einer Strasse vom Strand getrennt. Das ist schon super! Am Strand um im Haus sind Hunde erlaubt. Den Gezeitenkalender sollte man sich täglich ansehen, da sich die Tiefe des Strands je nach Ebbe oder Flut von nahezu null bis einigen hundert Metern bewegt. Es ist ansonsten ein durchgängiger Sandstrand den man speziell bei Ebbe weitläufig begehen kann und zu langen Spaziergängen einlädt. Das Haus, der Ort und auch der Strand waren weitestgehend sauber. Die Aussicht aus den beiden großen Panorama-Fenstern war schon sehr toll - vermissen wir jetzt schon! :-( Auf der Terrasse kann man gut essen und sich auch auf die Sonnenliegen legen. Hinter der Terrasse kann man auch den teils steilen Hang hinaufgehen, die tolle Aussicht aus der Höhe genießen und schöne Fotos schießen. Im Haus war so weit alles vorhanden. Sat-TV mit deutschen Sendern, WLAN mit Internet, Markise, Sonnenschirm für den Strand, Besteck, Geschirr, Töpfe, Gewürze, Toaster, Wasserkocher etc. Man braucht wirklich kaum etwas selber mitbringen. Es kann sinn machen, das Wäschepaket mitzubuchen, dann erhält man Bettwäsche und Handtücher Vorort. Auch für Kinder ist diese Unterkunft sehr geeignet, da es hier viele Betten und Spielsachen gibt. Einkaufsmöglichkeit in der Nähe wäre der Cocci Market, der nur 1,3 km (ca. 20 Min) zu Fuß entfernt ist und leider nicht immer zu den angegebenen Zeiten geöffnet ist und nur ein etwas kleineres Sortiment für den täglichen Bedarf anbieten kann. Viel besser ist der Carrefour in Bayeux, der kaum einen Wunsch offen lässt. Neben dem Carrefour gibt es sogar einen McDonalds. Zum Ansehen gibt es auch recht viele D-Day Museen, Bunker und WWII Schauplätze wie Pointe Du Hoc, Longues-sur-Mer und Arromanches-les-Bains. Zu kritisieren gab es nur den etwas zu schwanken WLAN Empfang, der vom Haus nebenan kommt - hierzu wollen die Vermieter demnächst einen WLAN Repeater nachrüsten. Auch das "Ehebett" wirkte ziemlich durchgelegen und etwas zu schmal - nachts gaben wir uns gegenseitig aus versehen Nasenstüber ;-). Der Toilettenabfluß gluckt laut und kann nachts ziemlich nerven oder auch mal verstopfen. Auf dem Grundstück ist man auch nicht immer alleine, da hin und wieder auch Handwerker und Vermieter ins Haus nebenan gehen. Alles in allem war es sehr gemütlich und entspannend bei netten Vermietern. Kommen gerne wieder ...

Wir danken unseren Gastgeber für dieses Feedback unsere Dienstleistungen zu verbessern. Als unser Gast, fragten wir einen WiFi-Repeater, der Empfang verbessert. Das Bett ist ein "Queen-Size" 160x200 neun 3 Jahren. Wir werden seinen Status überprüfen und gegebenenfalls ändern. Die Toiletten wurden mit Tüchern und anderen weiblichen Accessoires verstopft. Wir werden ein Zeichen setzen angibt, keine Abfälle in die Toilette zu werfen, sondern in die Tonne Bestimmung. FinnHus Omaha befindet sich auf einem 4000 m² großen Grundstück bauen, auf dem wir unser Ferienhaus haben (am Wochenende) verwendet. Der Gärtner kommt einmal pro Woche 1

Aufenthalt sehr angenehm

Unsere 2 Wochen direkt am Omaha Beach gestalteten sich sehr entspannend u. angenehm. Das Haus besticht am meisten durch die atemberaubende Aussicht aus den Riesenfenstern des großen Wohnraums direkt aufs Meer. Die Straße dazwischen ist nicht störend. Die Wohnung ist mit allem ausgestattet, was einen Aufenthalt angenehm macht, kein gehobener Standard, aber alles sehr sauber. Küchenutensilien gut u. ausreichend. Bad geraümig u. neu renoviert, sehr schön. Große geräumige Terrasse an der Rückfront. Die Vermieter waren sehr freundlich , hilfsbereit u. informativ. Dankeschön nochmals nachträglich! Wonderfully relaxing stay!

I stayed with two friends at Finn Haus and loved it. The home is spacious and well maintained. Be aware that the town closes down pretty early. Nothing was open after 9:00 pm. The Cocci grocery was a great place for supplies, affordable wine, and fresh bakery. It is just a mile or two away.
