The property and house were exactly as we imagined based on the pictures. We sat drinking morning coffee watching deer and turkey come to feed. Very relaxing and quiet location. Daniel and Marie are excellent hosts - every detail was considered in the house. Our family had a wonderful time and will definitely return!

Great Family Get-together

Cozy and comfortable historic home. Just what we needed for us, 2 grown kids and their spouses, and one grandchild. Lots of visitors...deer and squirrels! Peaceful retreat. We really enjoyed the fire pit as well as getting to know the hosts and the history of the house. Thank you, Marie-Paule and Daniel!

Pleasant late winter retreat near NC High Country.

We booked last minute for a three-day weekend retreat. Place is amazing, takes you back (in a good way). Wild deer are just morning neighbors on the property - which our children loved. House is perfect for families and friends and has a lot of history (colonial times) which the owner has recorded and shared. Only regret was not bringing more family or friends to share the experience.

Lovely Farmhouse.

At the moment we walked into the house, my sister and I felt very welcomed. The farmhouse was more than we could have imagined, beautiful but it felt as if stepping back in time which is why we wanted to come. Very comfortable, very roomy, and peaceful. We will return. Thank you Marie for making us feel right at home.

What a special place!

This is where we will stay anytime we are in the area. The house is so much more than the pictures on the website. Anything we forgot to bring, it was already there. So well appointed, one of the best beds I have slept in. Sheets, towels, everything top notch. The owners were so gracious, we enjoyed a glass of wine..or two with them. Just lovely . Loved all the wildlife. My pups came too and were welcome. Looking forward to staying again with Daniel and Marie-Paule.

Beautiful Farmhouse

We were in town to attend a horse show at TIEC and the location of farmhouse was perfect! The farmhouse is beautiful, spacious and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evenings and watching the various wildlife. The farmhouse is very well maintained and a very peaceful and relaxing place. The hosts have done a wonderful job documenting the interesting history of the farmhouse and area. They also respect your privacy, respond quickly to any questions and make check-in and check-out very easy. We would stay here again without hesitation and add an additional day or two just to enjoy this beautiful property!

Peaceful stay

We very much enjoyed this beautiful house. There was plenty of room for five adults and three dogs. The history of the house was fascinating and it reminded us of our childhood. It would be a great house for hide and seek! We spent our evenings enjoying the fireplace(s) and playing games at the large kitchen table. We especially appreciated the solitude and quiet. If visiting during the holiday season I would recommend checking out the lights at Forest City. We also ventured into Asheville to see the lights at the NC Arboretum. This weekend getaway was just what we all needed.

Great Farmhouse

The farmhouse was perfect for us. The entrance into the community and the drive to the house is lovely. It's secluded and picturesque. The goldfish pond is a few feet from the house and has a bench to sit on. BBQ worked great and there’s a firepit too. There was a large bowl of candy for us in the kitchen and a package of Pepperidge Farm assorted cookies. The fireplaces inside the kitchen and living room are gas and turn on with a switch and let off very nice heat. Great ambience. The house is fully heated and has a 2-zone thermostat downstairs and upstairs. The house is also equipped with three electric stove heaters that add even more ambience. There's even an electric heater in the downstairs bathroom if you like it really really warm. The kitchen is great to work in and the refrigerator was stocked with condiments and milk and OJ. Great Cuisinart coffee maker/grinder and a Keurig with a lot of assorted k-cups. The farmhouse table was wonderful to sit at. Plenty of nice dinnerware, glassware, bowls, blender, electric hand mixer. Everything you have at home! The house has plenty of blankets, nice area rugs, TVs, DVD players and DVDs. Comfortable beds especially the King, 4 bathrooms, two showers, one with a rain shower. Cell phones worked great. Great privacy. Hoping to return in the Spring! Thank you Daniel and Marie😊

Wonderful home in the mountains

We were in town for a horse show at TIEC and stayed here for the weekend. The Hosts were amazing and left us goodies to enjoy when we arrived (the kids loved this special touch!). The beds were comfortable and the towels were plentiful! There was nothing more we could have asked for except for more time here! We will be back!

A completely wonderful experience!

Daniel and Marie Paule have made this 200+ year old farm house a delightful place to relax and enjoy being with friends and family. Everything was well thought out and very functional. Read the history of the farm house that Daniel has put together. Everything becomes real and alive. I cannot give it a better rating 11 out of 10!

Such a cool house and close to TIEC

this was our second time staying here, and we loved it just as much this time as the last time. It is such a cool house with a lot of character. The kitchen is well stocked, the house is clean, the bathrooms are nice, and the beds are all comfortable. the Internet was having problems while we were there, but outside of that it was perfect. It is especially great if you were showing at TIEC, it takes 10 minutes or less to get there from the house.

History lesson

The description got us there. We are history enthusiasts and Daniel and Marie have some deep history to share of the property and their own lives. We came to stay there because we were up at the WCRA at the Tryon. Less than 10 minutes, we had our own cabin in the mountains. Relaxing and comfortable, the Coepens welcomed us with all the essentials. I’d stay there again for a getaway quiet retreat, or if at the Tryon again. Or On the history trail through the east coast, stay here! You’ll learn a lot!

Great little spot

We rented this cabin for an event at Tryon Equestrian Center. We were very pleased with the location of the home, the character of the home, and the cleanliness. The owners were very nice and despite being next door respected our privacy completely. Would definitely recommend this spot!

Horse Show Visit

We were in town with family for a horse show at TIEC. The property was an instant favorite with our family that loves “picturesque, historic, simple” country charms! Everything about the house was welcoming and realistically detailed for its time period. It truly felt like stepping back in time. The host was exceedingly helpful, prompt to respond, and very gracious. Deer, turkey, and other wildlife abound. We cannot say enough about this charming home and it’s owner’s thoughtful hospitality… we will definitely be back again!

A true Gem- we didn't want to leave

There's so much to talk about when talking about this unique gem. My family and I had the most wonderful time. The House brings history alive but doesn't lack modern comfort. It was thoughtfully decorated and there's many pieces of history in every room. The owners Daniel and Marie also provided a folder where the store of the house, it's builders and the restoration is documented. It was an amazing read and the pictures of the restoration show the passion and love that was poured into the house. The Outdoors: 6 acres of beautiful and peaceful land. There's so much to explore for all ages. My toddler (3) loved the shed with the lawnmowers, and the teens the firepit in the back yard. I loved walking through the forest. There are many deer that come to the house a lot. It was fun watching them. Other: it was very clean, the beds were comfortable, supplies (i.E Keurig coffee and marshmallow sticks) are plenty, appliances work well Summary: Damiel and Marie are wonderful. They are caring and very welcoming. We had the honor talking with them. They are really the BEST! We loved every second of our stay and planning on returning in the very near future. If you want an experience of a life time, this is the place to go. Turn off your phone and soak in the peace and quiet of this unique farmhouse.

Really cool restored farmhouse

We stayed here for a week while our son was showing at TIEC. The house is less than 15 minutes from TIEC. It is one of the coolest homes we have stayed in. Each bedroom having its own bathroom was great. The large table in the kitchen is fantastic for family meals and late night card games. We loved seeing the deer, foxes, and turkeys. The home is so unique. You will love looking at each detail in every room. We would absolutely stay here again if given the chance.

Fantastic place

We loved this place! This is a lovely house with a lot of history, but with all modern amenities, too. The setting is gorgeous and we all felt very safe there. I loved sitting on the back deck in the morning, and in the afternoon watching the deer eat in the yard. It's an extraordinary place and I would recommend it highly.

Horse show hideout

We were in town for a show at TIEC. This property was just 10 minutes from the grounds. The owners were onsite but we never actually saw them!! There was a small issue with the AC and they had a temporary unit installed for our first night and had it completely fixed the next day and left us a kind note and some wine for the “inconvenience” of which there was none!! The home is rich with history and rustic. We enjoyed watching the deer and enjoyed the peace and quiet after some long and hectic days on the show grounds!
