BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Our first Idaho property, called Two Mile Cabin because it's barely in Island Park, Idaho, just two miles over the state line at the Continental Divide. This little neighborhood of homes is a great base camp for exploring the Yellowstone area. It’s just 12 miles to the park entrance, is surrounded by national forest for hiking, mountain biking, and snowmobiling and it’s just a 5 minute drive to Henry’s Lake and the Henry’s Fork River, both world-famous fisheries. With 3,200 square feet of living space, including a large family room, TV room and sauna, it’s a very comfortable home for a large group.

BEDROOMS/BATHS: The cabin has five bedrooms and four full baths. The main level has three bedrooms and there are two more downstairs. On the main level you’ll find a master bedroom with a king size bed and attached full bath with a tub/shower combination. One of the other bedrooms has a queen bed and the other has 2 twins. They share a full bath with tub/shower. The sunny lower level master has a king size bed and a large attached bath with walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a queen and uses a bath with shower just across the family room. All bedrooms have Pottery Barn linens and iPhone docks.

KITCHEN/DINING: This is a great kitchen for a crowd as it opens to the bar, the dining area, and the living room. It’s equipped with tons of serving and picnic ware, and lots of small appliance extras like a crock pot, waffle maker, electric mixer, and blender. There’s also a Weber grill out on the deck. The large dining table seats eight comfortably and the bar accommodates another four guests. There’s also plenty of seating for enjoying outdoor meals out on the aspen shaded deck.

COMMON ROOMS/SAUNA: The cozy living room has a gas fireplace, a flat screen HD TV with satellite service, an iPhone dock, and comfy leather seating. Step out the sliding doors to the deck with additional seating for cocktail hour! The downstairs is dedicated to helping you relax after your day of exploring. The huge family room has both Foosball and a game table. There’s a TV room with a large screen TV and a sauna room with a three person infrared dry sauna.

SETTING, ACREAGE, AND VIEWS: Two Mile Cabin is in a small mountainside neighborhood about 12 miles from West Yellowstone, a major entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It sits on one half acre and enjoys incredible views towards Henry's Fork Valley, Sawtell Peak, and other mountains along the Continental Divide. You’re likely to see elk, moose, fox, and maybe even a bear in this beautiful wild area!

OUTDOOR AMENITIES: Decks on two sides of the house provide room for enjoying coffee in the morning sunshine and then sunset over the mountains. A gas grill, firepit, swing set, outdoor dining table, and plenty of cocktail seating make these very enjoyable spaces. Garage is available for guest use.

TOWN/AIRPORT: You are 10 miles to the grocery store in Island Park and 12 miles from West Yellowstone and 100 miles from both the Bozeman, MT and Idaho Falls, ID airports.

NEARBY ACTIVITIES: In winter, you can snowmobile right from the house and get onto hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails. If you prefer Nordic skiing, West Yellowstone’s Rendezvous Trails are a short drive away and you can explore the park by snow coach. In summer, there’s hiking and mountain biking all throughout the area, fishing on the Henry’s Fork and Madison Rivers and on Henry’s Lake, boating on Hebgen Lake, and day trips into Yellowstone.

Engagement Retreat
Everything worked out great. Place was perfectly located to snow mobile. Only thing was the walks could have been shoveled as there was two feet of snow to walk through which made the mud room a bit of a mess.

We enjoyed this property for a long weekend gathering of friends. Owner was responsive. We enjoyed recommendations of West Yellowstone activities and dining and liked the option of snowmobiling right from the house. Comfortable and clean

Yellowstone/Teton Vaca
I don’t give compliments easily but 2 Mile Cabin exceeded my expectations. I’ve been renting properties for decades across the country and this property was the cleanest ever. The appliances are high end, large kitchen, plenty of decks, spectacular views and a hot water heater that never failed a large family. We rented off season but lots of good restaurants nearby (Buffalo Bar) and superb boxed lunches from Ernies. And the park is only 20 minutes away. Moreover, the owners went out of their way to help us retrieve a “left behind” item. Very grateful. We will definitely rent 2 Mile again.

Great property, great location
I was slightly disappointed when we first pulled up because it looked smaller than I thought from the outside - but it was incredibly spacious on the inside. So all of the pictures were accurate and for the 7 of us, it was more than enough space. Also, I appreciate the owners reaching out to us directly to let us know about recent bear activity. We were pretty prepared before we got there, but it was very nice of them to contact us. A couple of minor hiccups like the TV didn't work, but it turned out to be nice because we were there for Yellowstone for a week anyway. And we so tired coming back each day that it didn't matter. Also, the owners offered to come over and fix it and tried - for some reason it didn't work. But again, it actually worked out and the fact that they tried was very nice. Of course, the foosball and mini-pool table were the biggest hit with our two kids. Very spacious. Great location. Very responsive and helpful owners. And a professional management company that gave us all of the info ahead of time. We had a blast and would recommend it to anyone!
