Perfect getaway! Loved the location and the cottage itself. Easy communication with the host, stunning views and accessible to walking paths and close to parks for the kids. Would stay here again!
We had an amazing stay at the beachfront chalet! Loved the location, private but close to everything. Great hosts and beautiful home. Highly recommend!
We had a great time at the house for our stay in PEI. It was a short drive to the city and all the amenities. When we stayed in the house had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. The view of the ocean was absolutely stunning and we enjoyed watching the cruise ships come in and out of the harbour. We had our dog with us and he had a great time as well exploring the property and nearby paths, parks and beaches. Great stay overall!
Excellent location, Beautiful water view out the front window. Walking on the ocean floor when tides out is cool.
Very clean , open cottage. Greg is a 5 star host. Quick to answer any questions. Really makes you feel welcome.
First choice to stay on the south shore.
Thanks
The house photos depict the property accurately.
The house interior needs some improvements in regard to lighting (poor) and general kitchen gear- can opener that works. The sliding glass door to the view is very difficult to slide open which could be a fire hazard if trying to get out quickly . Having a vacuum or even a stick broom would be helpful in keeping the floors clean while staying there. The house seems geared to families & less so to retirees. The road to the house is rutty & messy after a rain. Location is very convenient to grocery store & Charlottetown. The green space next door was ideal for our pet. We enjoyed walking the shoals at low tide. Having a washer/dryer was great. Greg MacDougall was very responsive if a problem arose.
The view alone is worth 5 stars, but the cottage and its decor also contributes to an airy and relaxing environment. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable, and there are lamps to read by. No doubt because it's the end of the season, there were some minor fixes to be made (broken shade cord, damaged shelf in fridge, etc.) but overall, this was the absolute best vacation rental we have ever had. Highly recommend.
My husband & I just returned from a wonderfully rejuvenating 2-week stay at this house in Stratford, PEI. We chose this property solely on its photos and reviews from others, and we were not disappointed. The private, quiet location at the end of a shared lane, right on the water(!), was exactly what we were looking for. It's less than 15 minutes to Charlottetown, with quick access to major routes for day trips elsewhere. The main living areas and deck face the amazing view of the bay. There's direct access to the tidal flats created at low tide from the stairs on the property. The owner was easy to contact, patient with our questions and very helpful. He even offered an earlier check-in since the place was available.
We adore PEI and will rent this property again in the (hopefully near) future.
We wish the best for everyone affected by Fiona - stay safe!
The cottage is well equipped and comfortable with incredible water view. Low tide presents an awesome walk out into the strait for clamming. Good access for home base and travelling, quiet neighbourhood. Owner was easy to work with and responsive. 15 minutes to downtown Charlottetown, Sobey's and shops within 5 minutes. YYG not far away. Would definitely stay here again !
We really enjoyed our stay! We would definitely recommend and would stay here again in the future. The house was great, with lots of space and great location. Exploring the beach when the tide was out was the highlight of our stay. Communication with the owner was easy and he quickly tried to deal with one issue we had. My only suggestion would be to improve the quality of the master bed, it was very soft, but that could be more a matter of personal preference.
Excellent location, clean modern cottage with water access
My family enjoyed this cottage very much. It was clean and modern and had all the amenities needed. We spent most of our time on the back deck looking out at the water. The stairs to the water were easily accessible and we all enjoyed endless beach combing whe the tide went out. Would definitely consider renting again.
Great waterfront cottage that is close to everything
Literally a very private waterfront location that is minutes away from amenities (golf, grocery, hardware, gas, Charlottetown, beer & wine).
Neighbours are close but set back or hidden by trees so you feel like you are by yourself.
The cottage is set up with everything you might need to enjoy your stay.
The large deck overlooks the Hillsborough Bay and as true inlanders we are always impressed with the red sand and the tides.
The cottage is well-situated for travelling around the island and quick trips into Charlottetown. It is located on a beach on the south shore which means a lovely sandy beach, warmer water and low tides that are perfect for walking or finding creatures in the tide pools. I really enjoyed the expansive view that the cottage provided of the beach. Although there are a few cottages located nearby, they are not so close as to impede privacy and there are trees between lots. There is a large Sobeys X located five minutes away for grocery shopping and a few minutes further on Riverside there is a local butcher (which carries Gallant's crab cakes in the freezer section - yum). We were visiting with family so didn't range all over but there are a lot of great restaurants and cafes nearby. It is close to the waterfront and Founders' Hall (excellent Mexican food, a nice salt cod sandwich at the Caribbean spot there). We had great meals at Abbiocco (lovely cioppino), Receiver Coffee (breakfast). The cottage itself is well-organized and well stocked with necessary equipment for cooking at the cottage, including a washer and dryer. We had a lovely relaxing visit to the island and, even though it rained a few days during our two weeks, the view from the cottage was still lovely.
