we were in town for a family wedding and this space was perfect for our large group! Lots of space and a short walking distance to Town and grand Lake.
Highly recommend this property for a family get together.. Beautiful, well kept, and stocked property. It has a large great room perfect for our reunion. Every bedroom had a private bathroom. Great fire pit in back yard.
A family reunion, spanning four generations, gathered at this wonderful location to catch up and spend time together. This space had everything we needed. The large dining area/table and well-equipped kitchen made meal time easy. And the giant living room areas were perfect for socializing. Thank you for hosting us!
Plenty of space for a group of 12 adults. All bedrooms have large bathrooms and plenty of space. An easy walk to main street makes this place a prime location. Highly recommend.
This property was great! Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. But the best part was the huge great room. We all spent a lot of time there. Also the town of Grand Lake was a short walk and this property is close to the western entrance to Rocky mountain National Park.
This is a very spacious beautiful lodge. Two dishwashers, huge refrigerator, two sets of washer and dryer’s. There is tons of parking. We had twelve people stay and we were very pleased with the open space for gatherings. It is about a block from main street shopping and restaurants and another half block to the water. The location is awesome! We really enjoyed our stay and hope stay again next year.
We are a third generation Colorado family and we meet annually to handle family business.
This property worked out perfectly for 9 adults ages 88 to 46.
The Great room was an absolutely a Great Room! Plenty of space for all of us to meet & hang out and not feel confined. So much space we could be together and still get away without leaving the room. The attached kitchen was clean, well stocked and spacious.
We really appreciated that there are 5 bedrooms and each has its own bathroom.
Highly Recommend!
Our 501c3 non profit organization Parker’s Platoon rented this for the Grand Lake Pond Hockey classic where we paired retired pro athletes with wounded Combat Veterans. What an incredible home! Easy access from beautiful downtown Grand Lake. Clean and orderly and everything was as advertised. The hosts communicated with us and we’re friendly and easy to access. The home was perfect! The boys were absolutely blown away by its beauty and open concept. It was so great that we rented it the following week for our NHL alumni weekend … and yes , my hubby is retired 2001 NHL Stanley Cup Champion Scott parker and Grand Lake resident! Thank you for making this such a memorable weekend for our Nation's heroes and warriors.

Great access to National Park and Grand Lake
I have very ambivalent feelings about this property. On the positive side, the location was very close to the entrance of Rocky Mt Nat'l Park and Grand Lake; the large well appointed kitchen and the overall spaciousness of the cabin on the parlor floor are well done.
However, the negatives are huge. First, the house is dark and cavernous with little natural light. If you like to look out at dumpsters, this house takes the prize. There are 4 dumpsters right in front of the house (useful perhaps, but an eyesore) which are your most prominent view. Furthermore, the owners are very skimpy with towels -- for a 5 day stay each of us got 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel. There were no extra towels in the closets as is the custom in other rental properties we have enjoyed. Also, there were no supplies in the house that make living easy: no soap in the showers, no plastic bags under the sink, no soap for the dishwasher, no laundry soap in the utility room. These small amenities would go a long way to make the guests feel more welcome. .We have always had them in ample supply in other rentals. Furthermore, the fire pit in the back yard is amble but the surrounding mess makes it look more like a dump than an entertainment space.
More: the TV is advertised as a Smart TV but 4 adults with advanced degrees and 2 very smart teenagers could not figure out how to get Netflix or Prime.
I believe the property is overpriced.

Sonya, this review and the complaints come as a total surprise. We had several discussions during your stay and you never mentioned any of these items and issues, nor did you express your displeasure. As you can see from our Reviews we always aim to provide a 5* experience for our guests. This is why it’s so important to let us know of any dissatisfaction upon your arrival. Below I will address each of your comments in order;
house is dark and cavernous; The house is a large log cabin, therefore most of the walls are wood…not drywall. I guess this could be construed as dark if you are a custom to drywall.
little natural light; On the main floor of the log cabin, 2 of the 4 walls have windows that run the entire length. Most bedrooms have multiple windows... In fact, all rooms in the home have at least 1 window with the exception of the laundry room. There are also many lights in the home on dimmer switches, is it possible the lights were dimmed, and you didn’t realize turning them up was an option?
dumpsters right in front of the house: Grand Lake is a small mountain town without daily trash service. Most homes have dumpsters because trash collection only comes every few weeks and dumpsters are required to keep rubbish safe from bears. Our dumpster is located on the side of the house as far back as possible so it's not an eyesore to our neighbors. Our neighbors’ properties are not as large as The Eagle Lodge, therefore, they do not have as many options for placement of their trash receptacles as we do. I am sorry the neighbors’ dumpsters were an eyesore to you. As there is nothing we can do about the placement of others’ dumpsters.
skimpy with towels; We provide 14 (bath, hand and wash) towels sets for guests as our maximum occupancy is 14. Therefore, if there are 14 people in your party, yes there is only 1 set of towels for each guest. There is also a washer and dryer in the home for your use. With that said, if you had voiced your concerns, we do have additional sets that we could have provided.
no supplies; We supply paper towels, extra dishwasher tabs/soap, a new sponge, & extra trash bags for every new guest. Like the towels, we could have solved your concerns by providing some additional supplies had you contacted us. As far as soap in the shower; providing a shared resource as you are suggesting, is not hygienic… especially during the current coronavirus pandemic. As for there not being laundry soap in the utility room, we are sorry as that should have been restocked prior to your arrival. Again, had you informed us of this oversight we could have rectified the issue during your stay.
fire pit …surrounding mess; We have photos of our fire pit and backyard on our website. I think the photos clearly show a rustic fire pit in the backyard of a home in Grand Lake. We took photos of the home and posted those photos on the website so people can get a realistic feel of the home and what to expect during their stay.
advertised as a Smart TV; All the TVs in the home are smart TVs or connected to a DVD player that is smart. That is to say, all TVs allow access to the web and streaming services. In addition, we have a large collection of DVDs near the television on the main floor. Accessing the web/streaming services has always been very straight forward to us. Had you informed us you were having difficulties, I am sure I could have walked you through the process over the phone or had someone stop by and show you. With all that said, this is something we will investigate & we will find a way to simplify the process.
property is overpriced; We price the home based on the market and the season. We review the websites often and do our best to keep the Eagle Lodge competitively priced.
If you have a concern in the future, please reach out to the homeowner directly. Many of the issues that you mentioned could have been easily resolved during your stay. We were just a text or a phone call away.
Property was perfect for our group of 4 couples - each couple had own bedroom and bathroom plus the half bath off the main living area, which was huge! Two blocks from main street so easy access to everything. Would definitely rent this property again!
We had a family reunion in Grand Lake and three families with children ages 4 months-7 years ( 6 adults, 7 children) stayed three nights. It was the perfect place to accommodate us all. The great room and open floor plan allowed for perfect space for the adults and kids to all gather together. We also had a wonderful time on the porch as the kids all slept after bedtime. Easy 1.5 block walk to the playground and center of town. The hosts are wonderful, the kitchen is stocked for cooking if desired. Could not recommend this place more highly- Thank you!
Eagle Lodge is the perfect place to host a family reunion or large friend gathering! We had 8 adults and 4 kids ages 3-9. The adults were all able to have their own rooms and bathrooms, which is amazing. The great room on the second level was perfect for eating, playing games, and hanging out. The kitchen is well equipped with two ovens, two dishwashers, and plenty of room for cooking for 12.
We had an issue with a dishwasher and the property owners too care of it right away and sent someone to fix it.
We brought our own hummingbird feeders and it was so fun to watch them off the deck all day. They are so entertaining and beautiful this time of year and not shy.
The location is perfect to walk into town. There is a great playground there as well for the kids. A truly beautiful location and great place!
The property was perfect for an extended family vacation. We had 13 in our group and the home was large enough so that we never felt cramped. The main floor has enough open space for everyone to be there cooking, eating, and hanging out. Everything in Grand Lake is within walking distance! I highly recommend staying here.

Once a band camp & now a mountain retreat. Our vision for the Eagle Lodge has unfolded & we can't wait to share it!
Why they chose this property
Formerly a functioning band camp, the Eagle Lodge has had the interior renovated. It’s a few blocks to the heart of town and Grand Lake. Nothing like it in the area.
What makes this property unique
Our cabin is incredibly unique due to its size and close proximity to town. The cabin is ideal for large groups to be under one roof and is still just two blocks from downtown. It easily sleeps 12 guests, possibly more. The huge main room is perfect for large families and/or groups of friends to gather, cook, play games, eat, watch movies/etc. It boasts 5 bedrooms (with a variety of bed options) each with an attached full bath.
