Stones Throw is 2nd row home in a quiet area, with nice wide beach which is easily accessible by walking down the road, about 100 steps. Reliable WIFI, great views, easy beach access and the open, airy feel of our "home away from home" make Stones Throw a great choice for your Crystal Beach vacation. The Primary Suite is decorated in soothing colors. It has a king size bed, an oversized tub, and a separate entrance to the porch for sneaking out with that first cup of coffee to watch the sun come up over the ocean. The second bedroom is decorated in bright colors and has a queen-sized bed with a new memory foam mattress, and a great view of the beach. The 3rd bedroom has two antique twin beds. The fully stocked kitchen is open to the dining room, which is furnished with large, comfortable furniture and decorated in a tropical theme, perfect for lingering over family mealtime. Enjoy a great night's sleep in the 3 private bedrooms, all of which have a reading light, a clock, a fan, and extra pillows. We provide plenty of beach chairs and toys, and crabbing gear is also available for your use. Inside we have books and games for all ages.

Great veiw

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay. Just a short walk to the beach and you are ready to party! The view is amazing!! You can sit on the deck and watch all the people drive by in their Jeeps and golf carts. We met so many friendly locals too!

And even though there’s a house in front of this one you can still see beach on both sides. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and it had everything we needed! We especially loved playing the board games at night that was in pantry! The beds were super comfy as well and we had plenty of space for all of us. We wished there was curtains to drown out the sun coming in in the morning but it wouldn’t keep us from staying here again! Overall we had the best time staying here and would love to stay here again!

An Amazing Stay

This was our, my husband and mine, 5th trip to Crystal Beach. Everytime, I think it gets more beautiful. This time we brought close friends with us who had never been. They had been to Galveston but did not know the existence of Crystal Beach until I told them it was heaven on earth. The stay at Stones Throw was great. The beach view was good from the balcony. We rented a beach buggy and ran up and down the beach. We picked up sea shell galore, ate some wonderful food and had an absolute marvelous time! Until our next visit, keep the Boliver Peninsula just the way it it We will be back!!!

the house itself was amazing! the owner however is a little looney and speculative!! we were accused of doing things that werent in our contract.. she never asked if we did them she just assumed we did because someone supposedly said it she sent me numerous rude emails and demanded i repay her the deposit she refunded me weeks later!! be very aware of what u do or do not do!! we will nevr use this place again!! ive never had an issue in the past 5 years i have rented from anyone on vrbo until now!! good luck people!!

Close to the Beach

If that is your main goal, then this is the place for you. Overall the house was clean, but everything needed wiping down. Dirty hand marks on all doors. There was a really bad odor coming from the pantry, like old fish, we had to go buy disinfectant and room deodorizer to put in there and just didn’t use the pantry. The furniture cushions were stained really bad. I had to ask my son to bring sheets to put on the furniture so we could sit on them. A lot of pee stains on the floors. But the bathrooms and bedrooms were clean. We think the owners of this cabin has a jewel if they would make some much needed repairs, clean it better and a fresh coat of paint.

The storm door on the master bedroom was heavy to hold open and didn’t close properly. The house is an other home but was ok. We have stayed at better places. We like to cook our meals when we are staying at Crystal Beach but the pots, pans & cooking items were very limited & some were so dirty or damaged that we didn’t use them. I’m not sure, but there was possibly a mouse in the laundry room area or in the dryer vent area. You could hear something in there and if you made noise it would quit. We only used the master bed and it was ok. Sheets are stained and need to be replaced. Needs some regular glasses instead of plastic or shot glasses. Has a tankless water heater, water was hot but kept getting cool & then extra hot. Couldn’t keep temp at a comfortable level. Hot water in outdoor shower was nice. We enjoyed our stay but could have been better.

A few more homes have popped up (including a tall house on the first row) since our last visit, but the views from the deck were still good enough for us. We liked the close proximity to restaurants and the big store that minimized driving and allowed us more time for relaxing. And the large dining table is perfect for working that 1000 piece puzzle purchased at the big store!

Just ok, but it got us great beach access.

It was just ok. The beach access was awesome and the current view lovely, but the place left a lot to be desired. They are putting up a house that will block the lovely view for future renters, so we had to deal with construction noise. Not the fault of the owners, but did make it less pleasant. The reason we won't go back is the musty smell that no amount of air freshener or open windows can fix. All of us had allergies flare up due to this. It was ok ,but there's better out there.

Nice home walking distance from the beach. Home was well equipped including beach chairs to borrow. Wish it had a covered porch on those rainy days, but we enjoyed our stay very much, esp the later check out time!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: An older home but just right. Everything worked and the kitchen was well stocked. (Only 2 wine glasses though.) There's even a shed with lots of beach toys, a few kites, beach chairs, coolers, nets, etc. Also a small BBQ Grill, but it was pretty worn. Plenty of oscillating fans and a box fan to keep the porch cool. There was no beach umbrella to use on the fully exposed porch as shown in the photos, but we bought a couple at the Big Store. There are holders for them on the porch railing but you'll need to zip tie them on a windy day. There's a water spigot on the porch right outside the front door, as well as a hose and an outside shower downstairs. Nice! You'll need outdoor sized garbage bags, as the kitchen can is too tall for 13 gal bags. Located on a road with beach access so you can easily walk or drive all your stuff right onto the beach. Nice 2nd row views of the beach. The king size bed is quite firm. The queen is extra soft memory foam. Twins are regular spring mattresses on the firm side. Good wifi, 1 TV with Roku + DVD, but no satellite (but we don't watch TV at the beach so this was not a problem for us.) I was disappointed that previous guests left the shed a complete mess. We cleaned it up in hopes that those to follow will respect this amazing trove of beach goodies generously provided by the owners. The garage was empty and available for parking but we couldn't get the garage door opener to work. Space for 3 cars outdoors, 1 in the garage. Super close to the Big Store, Cobb and several restaurants and activities. What's not to love about this house?
