Gite in Burgundy

Beautiful little gite in a very quiet, rural part of burgundy. Perfect for peace and quiet, but plenty to see and do within an hours drive. Gite was lovely and clean, with a well equipped kitchen. Geneviève and Laurent are lovely, and the perfect hosts. Thoroughly recommended.

Wonderful!

We had the most wonderful stay in this lovely cottage. It is well equipped, comfortable, and in a beautifully peaceful setting with lots to do within a short drive. Geneviève was the perfect host, generous and thoughtful, and it was such a privilege to see the harvest being brought in, and watching the sunflowers in the field opposite opening up over our stay. We had a relaxing holiday and loved every moment of the peace and tranquillity this beautiful place offered us. Thank you Geneviève and Laurent.

Hébergement exceptionnel de propreté,commodités, confort, literie. Beaucoup de possibilités de visites à 30-40 minutes de voiture (Fontenay, Ancy-le Franc, Semur en Auxois, Chatillon-sur-Seine, Époisses,ect.). Nous n’avons jamais souffert de la canicule à l’intérieur alors qu’il faisait jusqu’à 38 à l’extérieur. Et surtout, nous avons apprécié la disponibilité de nos hôtes, Geneviève et Laurent, et leurs qualités humaines et relationnelles.

viel Ruhe und doch zentral gelegen.

Dieser Bauernhof (in den Resten einer Burg des 14.jh. errichtet) außerhalb der Ortslage Sennevoy-le-Bas und bietet in dieser Lage zunächst einmal sehr viel Ruhe fern des Verkehrs. Als ausgesprochene Kulturtouristen war aber die zentrale Lage zu wirklichen Highlights der burgundischen Natur und Kultur für uns ausschlaggebend und diese Erwartung wurde auch voll erfüllt. Das gastgebende Ehepaar Delmotte ist überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit, kann Tipps zur Umgebung geben und ist immer sehr zugänglich und stehts freundlich. Die FeWo selber ist schön, gemütlich und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Das Wohnzimmer war hier besonders gemütlich und lud zum abendlichen lesen ein. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und tanken sind nach unserem Dafürhalten am besten in Ancy-le-Franc (ca 10km) zu erledigen, aber auch hier waren die Tipps der Vermieter sehr hilfreich. Die auf dem Hof vorhandenen Hunde sind verspielt aber sehr lieb und für uns noch ein weiterer Grund, da mal wieder hinzufahren. Alles in allem eine sehr empfehlenswerte Unterkunft, Haus und Vermieter geben hier die volle Punktzahl ohne Weiteres her.

Entspannte und sehr schöne Ferien auf dem Land

Wir haben uns wirklich von Beginn an sehr wohl gefühlt im Ferienhaus bzw. dem kleinen Anbau an den Rest der alten Wasserburg (bzw. dem landwirtschaftlichen Betrieb), in der Familie Delmotte lebt. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und Genevieve Delmotte gab uns viele nützliche Tipps, wo man wie die Einheimischen z.B. Käse und Gemüse bei kleinen Händlern und Produzenten einkaufen konnte; sie - und das hat uns besonders gefallen - versorgte uns mit Eiern von eigenen Hühnern und außerdem mit Burgunder-Weinen aus dem familieneigenen Weinkeller. Besonders hat unserem Sohn außerdem die Fahrt auf einem der Mähdrescher gefallen. Und er liebte den großen Innenhof des Gehöfts, wo er nicht nur viel gespielt, sondern auch mit den beiden Hunden der Familie schnell Freundschaft geschlossen hat (was uns selbst gewundert hat, da er eigentlich eher Angst vor Hunden hat). Es war ein rundum schöner Aufenthalt, und unser Sohn war richtig traurig, als wir nach Hause fuhren. Wir können uns in jedem Falle vorstellen, bei unserem nächsten Urlaub in der Bourgogne noch einmal bei Familie Delmotte zu Gast sein zu wollen.

Our perfect holiday.

We arrived to a warm welcome and a gorgeous selection of local produce. The gite was situated in a working farm with two extremely friendly dogs who gave us an equally warm welcome each morning. The gite was well equipped and every detail had been thought of to make our stay very comfortable. Genevieve was extremely helpful and was always available for advice but not intrusive. We had our own bikes which allowed us to explore the amazing Bourgogne canal. We visited Dijon by train, Chablis and Auxerre were easy driving distance. Champagne and Bourgogne wine routes are on your door step. This is a wonderful location, quiet but an excellent base to explore the area. You need your own transport and if you like cycling it is absolutely fantastic as the road and canal network is extensive. We will definitely return as the property provided us with everything we needed for a perfect holiday. Merci.

The property which forms part of a former fortified farmhouse is delightful. It is very well equipped in every respect and extremely comfortable. sehr schöner Urlaub auf dem Bauernhof

Wir wollten sehr ruhige und entspannte Ferien verbringen; dies ist uns in der Gite Chez Florine et Valentin auch sehr gut gelungen! Die Wohnung ist Teil des Ensembles, in dem auch die Familie der Vermieter wohnt; sie ist etwa einen Kilometer vom Dorf Sennevoy le Bas entfernt. Die Vermieter verdienen ihr Geld mit Weizenanbau. Wir hatten das Glück, in einer Erntewoche vor Ort zu sein; wir haben sehr interessante Einblicke in diesen Zweig der Landwirtschaft bekommen. Dass ich auf Mähdrescher und Trecker mitfahren durfte, war für mich Städter ein Erlebnis! Die Wohnung ist einfach, aber liebevoll möbliert. Vor der Wohnung im Innenhof ist ein Sitzplatz mit Gartenstühlen, Tischchen und Sonnenschirm. Die Vermieter haben zwei Hündinnen (Bosseron und Belgischer Schäferhund). Die Hunde sind Touristen gewohnt, wir haben schnell Freundschaft geschlossen (das eine oder andere Stückchen Wurst mag beim Aufbau der Freundschaft geholfen haben). Die Vermieter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben andere Sprachen als französisch nicht ausprobiert; zumindest englisch geht sicher auch. Die Umgebung landschaftlich sehr schön. Sicher kein Haupt-Tourismus-Ziel, aber das war ja auch nicht unser Wunsch. Zu empfehlen sind u.a. Auxerre, das Schlösschen in Tanlay, Alesia (mit Museum) und Flavigny, der Drehort von Chocolat. Jederzeit wieder!

A lovely gite with a lovely family as hosts

We stayed for a week and will certainly come back again. The farm was tranquil and quiet and we were made very welcome by the host family. The gite was very comfortable, clean and very well set up. Ideal for 2-3 people. The gite is very convenient for seeing the sights of Burgundy and we thoroughly recommend it. One of the best we have experienced!
