About this property
The Edgewater ~ New Dock ~ Spectacular Sunrises ~ Lots of Wildlife ~ Waterfront
We have a new private dock with a deck to sit and enjoy the very interesting ever-changing back bayou...tons of birds, fish, propoises, and spectacular sunrises!! Watch the Ospreys call her mate, build a nest on our perch, lay eggs, sit on the eggs and the new baby ospreys. The male Osprey's brings live fish to the dock to feed the new Mom and baby ospreys. It's amazing, watch them learn how to fly!!
Bring your rod and reels and fish off of it! Or enjoy your morning coffee and enjoy the amazing sunrises. Watch the black drums tailing:)))
Come and enjoy the Edgewater, located within walking distance to downtown Cedar Key. Restaurants and shops start 300 yards from the house. Home is located on the Eastern Bayou, enjoy the tides rolling in and out, beautiful sunrises, lots and lots of coastal birds, jumping mullets, and the occasional porpoises in the channel. Large yard has old Live Oaks, swing, native palm trees and lots of hibiscuses. Great under house porch, provides lots of shade, there are swings and table and chairs for your enjoyment....a perfect place in sunny or rainy weather. There are 3 bedrooms, the Master bedroom has a King bed, 2nd bedroom has a full-size bed, 3rd bedroom has 2 twins. The kitchen and upstairs deck overlook the waterfront, and the large roomy living room has plenty of seating for your guest. There is excellent fishing on the flats for Trout, Spanish Mackerel and Redfish, offshore for Grouper and Snapper. Cast net for shrimp. House is conveniently located directly across the street from the Cedar Key Marina, and about 3 hundred feet from The D & W tackle and bait shop. Sidewalk from house goes all over town.

About the host
Hosted by Rosemary Cooke

I’m a 3rd generation native to Cedar Key. My grandfather brought “pound net fishing” from Denmark to this small island in the 1800’s. He was very successful. My father was a commercial fisherman. He fished for many different types of fish during all the different seasons catching mullet, trout, pompano, he also turtle fished. My mother worked beside him on the boat. They blue crabbed, stone crabbed, net fished, scalloped, oystered, clammed. We owned and operated an Oyster house, and we also smoked mullet, our mother Madge made the first “smoked mullet” dip in Cedar Key that started a craze all over the state of Florida. After our father passed away, our mother started Johnson’s Restaurant where my sisters and I worked side by side for many many years. We worked hard but had a wonderful life on this beautiful island we call home.
