Imperial Beach is a small town of about 25,000 people, and is the most southwesterly city in the continental United States. The populated beachfront is about 1.5 miles long. About 7 miles to the north lies the exclusive town of Coronado. There is a nice bike path and you could walk the entire way if you have the energy. To the south is the Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge, the Tijuana River Estuarine Sanctuary, and Border Field State Park. The river estuary is a birdwatchers' paradise, and pelicans, storks and many other interesting birds are daily visitors to the local beaches. The beach can be walked all the way to the US/Mexico border, about 3 miles south of the center of town. The beach south of town is beautiful and basically deserted. Imperial Beach has terrific wide beaches with fine gray-white sand. All beaches have public access. The San Diego area is a great place to visit at any time of the year, with activities to suit just about anyone's tastes.

About Scott Hamren
I'm the owner and operator of the property, my name is Scott Hamren. I bought the condo in 2005 and have been operating it as a short-term rental property since that time. This is the only such property that I own. I make improvements to the condo on a regular basis to keep it looking top-notch. For instance, in December 2013, I worked alongside a contractor friend of mine to completely renovate the main bathroom. In 2014, I upgraded the kitchen with new countertops and installed new carpeting in the stairways and bedrooms. I live about 20 miles away in La Mesa, California and I'm a San Diego native. My goal is to provide a comfortable, relaxed and carefree stay for my guests. I hope you will consider contacting me about the condo, and I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Why Scott Hamren chose Imperial Beach
When I purchased the property, I was interested in some type of investment property near the beach to exchange with a condo I owned in a less desirable location. Most beach areas in San Diego are very expensive, but Imperial Beach had a reputation as less expensive than other beach areas and so I decided to check it out. I fell in love with it for a variety of reasons and felt it was vastly underrated. Since my purchase, IB has continued to get nicer and nicer - I think it's a great area that continues to improve all the time.
