Near the mouth of the Salmon River, facing east across the estuary, this riverfront cottage boasts beautiful summer sunrises, a serene but central location at the end of Pine Grove Road and located just mere steps from the sandy beach of Lake Ontario. Constructed in 2005, the cottage sits high overlooking the river with large picture windows in the living room and master bedroom, with a second guest bedroom - also on the second floor - and with a patio deck extending out over the river for relaxation and enjoyment with friends and family.

A great experience. Cottage is very modern and comfortable and stocked with everything you could need; just bring food.
We enjoyed the view from the bedroom and living room facing the peaceful Salmon River. Dock/patio sits right on the river for a relaxing time.
A short walk from the rear of the property and you're on a Lake Ontario beach.
During our stay we saw and/or heard lots of wildlife: ducks, geese, swans, loons, muskrats, deer, rabbits, fish jumping in the river and, of course, squirrels and chipmunks.
We watched as a bald eagle swooped down and plucked a fish from the water just a few feet from the dock.
Our daughter made friends with the resident bullfrog - which might be the biggest frog in Oswego County.
Hosts are nearby and eager to please. Four stars for this rental.
we enjoyed our stay at your lovely home, it was clean, spacious and all we needed was there for our use, enjoyed watching the Salmon jump out of the lake, Thank you for your many courtesies, Highly, recommended,
Check in was confusing and late. No check out process explained. The house and neighborhood was very pleasant and peaceful. Parking is very difficult. Overall I was pleased and would stay again and recommend staying here.
We had the best long weekend at Mike's property. Gorgeous view of the river; the best dock on the block, super clean house that's as beautiful as the view. It's updated and modern and comfortable. Superb location. The best long weekend we've had in a long, long time! Highly recommend
There were 4 of us. We arrived for fishing trip in Salmon River, Pulaski.
Great house, great place and excellent views. Nice deck/patio can see stars at night while you hear fish jumping nearby.
Great place to stay. Clean and convenient. The parking is very tight but was able to get my Silverado 2500 in there. Beautiful, clean, great view. Highly recommend.
Don't tell anyone about this place! :) I wish there were more stars allowed.
Clean, cozy, quiet and relaxing. Quaint little community off the beaten path. Post-card-pretty and as an angler, you can't beat the location. We fished the upper Salmon River from before sun-up to lunch time, then the estuary in the afternoon/evening. The neighbors are friendly and helpful, and you can tell that they know how special this place is... and they'd like you to know it, too. Our dogs LOVED playing on the beach and meeting new friends. We will be back. Thank you, Mike, for an unforgettable stay.
We spent a little more than a week and enjoyed the house with the gorgeous views. Watch the sunrise from your bed or walk 2 min behind the house to watch the sunset over lake Ontario. The beach is very close. At night we heard the salmons splashing on their annual run up the river. We had our canoe with us and paddled the river, some creeks the reservoir and on a calm day even the big lake. There are beautiful beach parks nearby, we also visited Salmon River Falls.
The house is super clean and new and has everything one could need. We felt right at home and felt recharged after our vacation.
We had a beautiful time. The house is even prettier than in the pictures, and everything was clean.
The constant view of the Salmon River from the house was amazing, we enjoyed morning coffees and afternoon drinks on the deck, and Lake Ontario is just a 3-minutes walk from the house. The house comes with a canoe and a grill, and just everything was perfect for our 10-day stay.
The owners greeted us at arrival, and were very nice and helpful with any request.
We had the perfect stay!

Shed
The shed where they are two twins bed is far from the main house and has no bathroom. No lights to get there at night and if it rains it's a nightmare.
The property is as described you have everything you need for a great stay. I love being right on the river or taking a short walk to the lake. I will definitely stay again.
Property was as described! It has s great view! Nice to be able to walk out and sit on the deck and watch my nephew fish until the last possible minute! The only thing I might suggest is a recliner or 2 for the living room, a larger tv, and a working tv for the master bedroom! Otherwise, everything was great!
Such a nice place right on the salmon river and a short walk to the lake beach. We always travel with our dogs and most dog friendly places are not nice and clean. This is by far the nicest place that would take us! Sunrise on the river and sunset on the beach. Everything was so clean, all the linens you’d need, little patch out back for the dogs, dock was nice watching the salmon jump, and big wonderful windows!
Spectacular sunrises & sunsets!
We came to this area to do some bird watching. We were pleased with the location as we were able to see warblers out the back door. We visited a number of parks, and found more birds. Unfortunately, the weather was cooler than expected. The water in the river was high, so we decided not to use the canoe. Overall we had a pleasant stay, and would come again.

Excellent accomodations
The house is clean and comfortable. Newly decorated and located on the estuary with easy fishing off the deck. The neighborhood is private so there isn't any competition for fishing spots. The beds are fairly new so the mattresses are in great shape and the linens and towels are new and plentiful. Access to Lake Ontario is a very short walk from the house. Overall the house is as good as it looks in the photos. We were very happy with our experience and would stay there again.

Great house with amazing views of the Salmon River
Great house for our getaway. Very clean with wonderful views of the river from almost every room. Short walk to the sandy beach which the kids absolutely loved. Kitchen had all the basics. Beds were comfortable with nice linens. The sleeping cottage was a little bit far from the house for our kids (ages 10 and 5) to feel comfortable sleeping in it. Would be better for older kids.

About the host
Hosted by Mike Barnell
My name is Ruby. My owner's name is Erica. And I love being at the beach, spending time digging, running, chasing seagulls and doing other very important things. The water is great to play in and I have lots of friends who come and pet me, throw balls for me to catch and sticks for me to bring back to them. I work very hard at this, day after day, summer after summer, and I think I am doing a good job of it, because everyone is always smiling at me and look very happy to be here with me. I can't be at the Salmon River all the time though, so I let friends of Erica stay here and enjoy my house when I am back in St. Louis, where I am from. If you are like me, when you visit you will enjoy watching squirrels, chipmunks and people from the living room window, or watching the boats go up and down the river from the patio deck. I like chewing a bone while doing this, but you can do other things too while overlooking the river on a warm, breezy day. Some people come to fish and they catch some too, but I prefer to run on the beach and take naps on the porch. Summer and fall are my favorite times to be here, but any time at the lake is better than being at home. I am really happy that Erica takes me to the Salmon River every chance she gets. I really love it here. Ruby
Why they chose this property
This cottage has been in our family for many years, recently passed between cousins and available at times for guests when not in use for family gatherings at our favorite place in the whole world. The house was rebuilt new in 2005 on the foundation of the original structure and is fresh and airy, functional and clean, cozy and romantic for a couple to enjoy. Or perfect for bringing the kids to spend time near the water, fishing or enjoying the nearby sandy beach.
What makes this property unique
You will find yourself spending hours on the patio, looking out over the water, just steps from your front door. The beauty of each day's sunrise is hard to describe, but you will experience it and remember it from this cottage. In the late afternoon on most days, the offshore breeze comes flowing through the windows across the Salmon River estuary and is delightful. You won't want to leave...
