Homer Beach House with "WOW" view and beach access
Magnificent home on the beach right in Homer city limits, with stunning views of the mountains, ocean, birds and other wildlife. Location is close to Homer Airport, the Homer Spit and downtown Homer - you are close to all activities, but still feel like you are away from it all. Relax on the deck and watch the shorebirds and eagles (this is what we call "Bird TV") and look for whale spouts. Walk down our private road to access the beach in front of the house and go tide pooling or look for interesting shells and rocks. Smell the salty sea air. Magic happens as you start to relax and take in the beauty, listening to the eagles, and spotting a seal or otter in the water. In Alaska, the custom is to take off your shoes and boots after entering a house, so on the main-floor there is a welcoming mud room with space for footwear and to hang coats. The house has a large Great Room that takes advantage of the spectacular view while cooking, entertaining and more relaxing. We designed the view to mimic the pilot house on a ship, so you feel like you are on the water without getting wet or seasick. Our family is full of mariners, so much of our artwork is of the sea and done by local and family artists. The gourmet kitchen has many amenities and allows the chef to be part of the celebration. On chilly evenings, there is a gas fire pit on the deck to cut the chill, and cozy blankets in the window seat benches. On the main level, there is a bathroom, walk-in shower/change room and a cedar sauna which are all connected. A new bedroom, with a queen size bed, has been added on the main level. It is suitable for those with mobility challenges, and it also has 2 reclining easy chairs and a quiet view of the wooded area. On the second level, the master suite with king-size bed and another stunning view of the bay, beach, birds and mountains, is the perfect space to wake up. Why get out of bed? Enjoy coffee or tea in bed while making plans for the day. Also on the second level, are 2 additional bedrooms (each with a queen-size bed) with partial views of the ocean and the neighboring woods, where moose, porcupine, and coyotes walk; a large bathroom with two-sinks, and separate toilet room; laundry room; library/art area with comfy chairs; and a ginormous play room with indoor pickle ball court, ping pong table, and foosball. But, there is more. A ship's stair takes you to the top level which has a large bedroom that has a queen-size bed, and a double-size bunk bed with a twin-size top. This bedroom also has a partial ocean view and of the neighboring woods. The Homer Beach House is our home during the winter months, so we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

The place is amazing. Everything you could possibly need in one place for a large group. Loved the house and all of its amenities. Close to the Spit. Tracey was always easy to get in contact with. Highly recommend this house and definitely would stay here again.
The Pilot House is beautiful place for a family or corporate get away. The views are breathtaking, the home is well appointed and comfortable. The location is close to everything. The owner is kind and prompt with communication. Highly recommended.
Had a great time. Loved the house. Pickle ball, ping pong, football, beach campfire, grill. Awesome kitchen, spectacular master bedroom. All right on the water.
Great house, wonderful location, outstanding hosts
The house was amazing. Lots of room for multiple people, including a play space with a ping pong table and a pickle all court. The kitchen was top-notch. But the best thing is that it feels like home. Family photos are everywhere. You can see the kids grow up in the pics. Had an amazing stay and hope to visit again soon.
What a great place! The entire property was beyond oir expectations. Loved the giant windows and the really well stocked kitchen.
Really cannot overstate how happy we were here. Thank you to our gracious hosts.
Sincerely,
Dan
We very much enjoyed our stay at Pilot House again, two years ago we were there and loved it!! It was perfect, this time especially because rain was in the air all but a day and almost a half of our seven day stay. One of the saving graces was the gymnasium above the garage...perfect as we had little people and big people that used it extensively! When not in the gym we were on the beach. Awesome place to stay and the hosts were very hospitable.
Not only is the Pilot House in one of the most spectacular locations in Homer, the home is also very well-decorated and personalized without being obtrusive. The kitchen is stocked with beautiful glassware/china, the walls are filled with beautiful local art, and the views from almost every window are breathtaking. It’s an easy walk down to the beach where we watched eagles take off and land. The drive to downtown Homer or the Homer spit are no more than 10 minutes as well. We will definitely be back!
This home has a one in a million view, plenty of room and a very helpful and thoughtful homeowner/host. A perfect place to enjoy all that the area has to offer.
The view and access to the beach are amazing at this property. The house is situated to take full advantage of the view. It is welcoming and comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything needed to prepare and serve meals. The game room and sauna are great bonuses. The main bedroom is spacious and private, and has the most amazing view in house. The host, Tracey, responded quickly to questions, and was very accommodating.. This was the perfect place for our family to reconnect!
Hosts were absolutely fabulous. Great location! Had everything we needed. Lots of wildlife and beauty. Fabulous views from the house walk down to the beach. Would certainly come back again!
We rented The Pilot House for 1 month. It is a wonderful home with lots of room. Each of our 5 children and their families stayed with us for 4 to 5 days, one family at a time. We took each family Halibut fishing while they were with us.
We all enjoyed our stay at The Pilot House
The host was warm and accommodating from the very outset, messaging greetings along with all of the pertinent rental information. The house was clean, spacious, and well organized. The panoramic ocean views that span all the way down the Homer Spit and out across the Kachemak were nothing short of spectacular. We viewed bald eagles and rafts of sea otters from the comfort of the front porch and living room. The lawn surrounding the property was perfect for games like cornhole and bocce ball. The beach was easily accessible and we loved beach combing with the kids at low tide. The house is close in proximity to both downtown Homer and the Homer Spit. The downstairs is perfectly situated to take advantage of the stunning ocean/mountain views and the master bedroom has large windows that make you feel as though you are out over the ocean. We enjoyed taking a dip in the ocean water and then warming off in the sauna. We made memories to last a lifetime. In all our experience was terrific and this getaway provided us with a refreshing opportunity to connect with our family and loved ones!
The house was perfect for our family. It was spacious, vast beautiful views, walk to the beach from the house and extremely clean and comfortable. Highly recommend as the perfect location and home visiting Homer, Alaska.
Perfect place to bring family and friends together
Our family enjoyed a reunion wedding week at the Beach house and couldn’t have been happier. The beach access let the kids play, the parents lived sitting out on the big porch and watching the first snow on the mountains. The perfect place to cuddle by the fire and make delicious dinners together. Thank you for having us!
The location on the water is as scenic as you could ever find. A large deck outside to enjoy the view, or a wall of windows to enjoy the view from the kitchen or living area. The kitchen supplied with any accessory you could need. The multiple bedrooms had comfortable beds and bedding. The owners were very friendly and accommodating to work with. i have rented multiple homes in the past and i would rate this home a 10.
From the beautiful, meaningful art to the fully equipped kitchen and home to the priceless view and location...this home was beyond our expectation. We are a family of ten ages 12 months to 72. This home is huge, gorgeous, clean, equipped with everything we needed plus. The owners haven't hidden away their nicest local artistic serving pieces and we had a ball using them to serve up our local seafood dishes. The bedrooms & bathrooms are large and comfortable (the master is in a class of it's own). The game room is amazing with entertainment for all...including an electric piano and drum set which we used for a family talent show. We are Alaskans who have stayed in Homer many times, but we have never experienced a location like this. The beach, water, endless view, tide pooling, beach combing are an unobstructed stroll from the house...unbelievable. We spent lots of time in the yard playing family ball games...in the spacious house playing games, cooking, challenging each other to a game of pickle ball, foosball, ping pong, or just crawling around if you are a 12 month old. The living space window seat was seldom without someone reading or gazing out on the incomparable Kachemak Bay. We unfortunately didn't make time to use the sauna since this part of Alaska is having an unusual endless summer and we just couldn't bring ourselves to be inside in a hot room, but the space for the sauna is amazing. There are no downsides to this home. We are grateful to the owners for opening their home to us to enjoy and appreciate their heaven on earth.
This is a beautiful, spacious home and perfectly maintained. We adored the great room with all its windows overlooking the bay. The description was accurate, and the manager/owner was a delight to work with. We’d love to return some day for a longer stay.
I can't say enough positive things about every single thing in this Fabulous home!! We are a 3 generation family of 6 and made SO many Forever memories!! Everything you could need is here, don't hesitate to make Homer and the Pilot house the highlight of your trip to Alaska Too!
You will not be disappointed renting this place. Owners and great, accommodating, and responsive. The house is exactly what you see in the photos so you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this property.
